Buy once cry once, lol. That’s a saying I’ve used for many years. Some more words of wisdom from our elders that we had to learn the hard way.

You are like me and probably most other jack of all trades. I buy dewalt drills but harbor freight tools because I’m not a mechanic. I did just rebuild the front end in 3 gm trucks over the past couple months with harbor freight tools. I have three businesses that pay the bills and I spend good money on the tools for them. Smart men is what I say.

There’s need v want and return on investment. If you know that you NEED a specific type of product, but you don’t have the ability to see a return, then going cheap is sometimes the better option. If you’re seeing a return, then it’s a cost-benefit analysis

Also, I would add that harbor freight’s Hercules line of brushless tools are fantastic and the xp batteries will run any other batteries into the dirt. I picked up the portable bandsaw stand for the Hercules system and I will get the saw sometime soon. I plan on primarily using it to cut some unistrut and angle iron. Icon tools rock. Harbor freight is getting high end(Hercules and Icon) but a lot of people don’t even realize it

That’s interesting I’ll have to check them out although I’m pretty far down the Milwaukee rabbit hole

@@hillcustomlumber at this point, it would probably only make sense for you to really only check out something like the angle grinder and the eight or 12 amp power battery so you can take advantage of the mobility while you’re doing your metal work projects

This is highly dependent on if you buy it as pro or as necessary for your business or if you are a hobbyist and enjoy tools. First will buy the tool which has the highest value for biz first and to get the job done fast and second will buy everything he has heard about, try it out and thank me later forget about it - value is the feeling having it. First has only tools which are needed or raise productivity, second has many many tools, sell it, exchange, upgrade and in most cases in the sense of first totally over equipped. These are my 2 cents. I count myself to the second group. 😂
