@nascar0981 Hello! I think it depends on the company for requirements. For mine it is just high school education and have your driver's licence, oh, and be able to lift over 70lbs easily. The rest is trained on the job. And usually it is easy to get the job, but only a very few stay. Typically only one person per class ends up sticking with the job.
i do this about 20 times a day, that marshalling technique is the most common. Working at an international airport for a few years now, this is essentially how it's done and accepted. The guys by the lead-in line though, not sure about that.
@AAL284 I was once at Newcastle (EGNT) at night and whilst a First Choice 737-800NG was taxiing in apparently the taxi light switch wouldn't work - that was the pilot's excuse :)
@AltairZenith In Brazil they pay good to, not many people want this job so they need to pay more so people won't quit. When I worked in disney I had to do the same thing but they would pay only 8$ an hour so be happy lol. Only diference werent with planes but with people.
Firstly both the guys placing the chocks should be well clear of the Aircraft & secondly the chocks are placed only after engines are shut down.its Important to ensure positive stop 7 no overrun hazard.
Hi Wat is the age requirement and what kind of training to you have to go threw and is it hard to get a job and how long does it take to pass training and are the any educational requirements Please respond thank you.
@MusicManAustralia Really? The pay is not so good here in Ottawa. The reason why I stay is because it is a fun job. It is like getting paid for a hobby.
That's not good marshalling - arms should be fully extended and waved from shoulder to knees, plus the aircraft was chocked before the anti-collision lights were switched off.
You can chock you just have to ensure the engines have shut down. No one can approach the A/C until the ACBs have been extinguished and the receiver gives a thumbs up.
David Spear you absolutely right. I’m 16 and I do this at small airport as a part time job. In Buttonville ON Canada. His arm movements are incorrect and can be misinterpreted if he gets more lazy
Some companies require you to have a clean driving record with no moving violations, since you're going to be driving several different types of equipment near very very very expensive planes. Other than that, all you basically need is a high school education or GED since everything is taught on the job.
Could you (AZ) tell me what the make of the pushback tugs are? Mostly the center cab designs like at gates 16-18. (I spent a lot of Saturdays at YOW when I was younger)
Fligh deck from ground Hello !, All doors closed, handles checks, chocks removed, by-pass in position ready to puuush : P Ex french Headset operator :)
I've been watching a lot of marshaling videos tonight and the inconsistencies in the signals and technique has been unsettling to me. You can definitely tell which agents really want to just throw their wands to the wind and go home and the ones that actually want to be there (lots of "dancing marshall" videos out there!) and understand the amount of responsibility they possess until that plane comes to a stop. People are just being lazy and doing the minimum to get by. :-/
Heather Crislip Dancing marshals are (hopefully) mostly military, if I was to dance-marshal a Boeing 747 I would probably be fired. But the signals, and they way they are suppose to be used, are regulated in the ICAO annex 2 and many of the signals you see simply are being used wrongly... In this case, you don't do the signals in chest-height, you do them separated from your body. For example, ICAO Annex 2 "Rules of the Air" Appendix 1 page 7: "Straight ahead. Bend extended arms at elbows and move wands up and down from chest height to head." NOT from hip height to chest. I don't necessarily enjoy marshaling aircrafts, as it's a rather big stress factor, because my airport doesn't have "moving gates" like Ottowa, which can move in three dimensions, we can only move ours up and down, in and out... so when stopping an aircraft you need to do it within a foot margin, or the airplane door might not be able to open. BUT when I DO marshal, I take pride in it and I do it in such a way that I want the pilots to be able to say "remember that guy we had in Gothenburg Sweden, THAT was a textbook example of how marshaling is done".... I know they won't ever say that but it doesn't matter, I'm still trying ;)
Love the sound of the engines when shutdown. Thanks for upload.
Glad you enjoyed!
Nice video and audio quality. Good job man
Glad you liked it!
Very interesting. Thanks for posting this. Have a nice day now.
I really enjoyed your work you are awesome and these sounds alert me to give me energy and I like to hear the sound of aircraft engines
Thank you very much!
Always impressed by this profession!
i am a marshaller in training fro Heathrow, and i must say this has given me some good tips,Keep it up dude !
Grazie per il video👍
What can I say, beautiful.
Thanks! 👍🏻
That's right, it means chocks in place, if it was pointed outward it meant chocks removed

Amazing work seeing this giants so close and hearing that beautiful engine sounds. I would love that ! *-*

What a beautifull jet the 757 is.
Well done
Apply at Servisair. They are in most major cities as a ground handler.

I spot at Ottawa quite often, could you maybe tell me when this bird usually arrives and departs? Appreciate it!

Nice!!...
jaymanz72584 thanks!!
Do only ramp agents get to do this? I would love this job!
Almost any one in the ground crew can.
Anyone can as long as they are trained how and know what they're doing :)
DefiniteLemon thank you for your answer! So ground crew is cleaners, rampers, ticket agents..?
Peregrine Videos thank you for our answer!! (: how may positions are there for ground crew?
Ground crew is all the service the plane needs, like mechanically. I'm not a very reliable source when it comes to these things 😁
@MusicManAustralia $10.50 here in CYQB... Probably the same in YOW and other Servisair hubs

Nice one dude , you work in the ground services right?? lucky :/

Please respond thank you.
Is this a Boeing 757-200?!
Yes, 200 series.
@AltairZenith Thank you for Responding. I would meet all the requriements in two year. If I were to get a job doing this , I would stay.
@MusicManAustralia I am moving to Australia...

Wow nice but I like delta Boeing 757
Has a pilot ever accidently left his taxi light on?
🙏👍✌️👈
Thanks!
are you all sure
Look at the bright side, you have fun things to play starwars :) why don't you make a videos marshalling a star wars battle =p
Truly amazing!
You know what's sad, they don't even have -200s anymore :( they have like 4 -300s which leave to condor at the end of this year
I read they are getting more -300s from Condor.
are you all sure
LazyGamerScotland the 757-200 still exists, Icelandair uses the 757-200 between RKV and ORD, 8 hours

Try MJ Airport Associates for aircraft marshaller training services!
Marshalling, tow trucks or "Traffic lights" will help the plane to line up
Do you need to have special licence to do this ?
you just need to demonstrate to your superiors that you are able to do it, it just takes a bit of practice, its not too hard.

That's definatly not the case in the U.S.....Ramp rats typically make just barely above minimu wage.

Was that door 1L or 2L. Cause some airlines pull the 757 up to 2L.
2L. Thomas cook always use 2L unless for some treason they couldn't
