I am currently in the last week of the Umuzi bootcamp, and I have endured significant hardship. I don’t think I’ll ever willingly subject myself to such an intense experience again. As I speak, I am feeling unwell due to the sleepless nights and the stress. Despite not having a coding background, I managed to complete the three-week bootcamp. Additionally, I had a Coursera course that was supposed to take four weeks, but I completed it in just two days.Your story gives me hope may God bless you and keep on inspiring us brother
@@kholekasibiya7890 These are the only tips I can give you pattern recognition, stats ,and english proficiency. I failed it 3x before I made it to the boot camp.
@funeral1000 i have been invited to write an assessment at Umuzi this coming month, i do not have any coding background can you please kindly assist me to prepare for the 3 hour assessment .Your response will be highly appreciated .🙏
I am following you everywhere (Twitter, TikTok, UA-cam). You're inspiring me everyday. we have a lot in common cars, coding. I'm in my first year diploma IT
Thanks for the info you've just shared showing people that you can define the odds I also want to be an Software engineer already have installed some apps on my phone Python apps and am also doing Computer applications technology at school am currently in Grade 10 so thanks for the motivation and info
Hey Abuti, I just finished my matric last year ,got bachelor, did math lit at school and always had been interested in coding so I decided to take lessons from watching Mosh on UA-cam and when im ready to write an exam ill write through Coursera and get the certificate,im learning python to be a software developer and a web developer, I love technology and gaming , I see you got the thrustmaster
Hey there, just wanted to add that if the funds are available on your side, you might also want to consider CompTIA certificates. There is a proper range of niches to choose from, they are more specialised and widely considered.
Seems that Javar is a big deal South African companies. Thanks. You mentions having applied for maths related degree. Given that you did the self taught route. Please tell me does pure maths really count?
Thank you for this,I have a question for someone starting to program, starting out with python which advice would you give, and which learning tips would you give
Try to learn almost all the basics of python first without using any frameworks like Django. After you are satisfied with your python skills, start using it with frameworks like Django to make applications, then go forward from there Look out for online learning platforms like codecademy, they offer python basic courses
Hi Josiah could you please make a video about the projects you had when you landed your first job, it would really help a lot for us aspiring self-taught developers.
If you want to start a career to become a software developer while still working, which courses can I buy and where can I get them in order to be a junior developer?
Cool story man 🤝 now would you say being around Gauteng has afforded you the amount of jobs you have under your belt in as many years? Cause atm I’m pushing however there aren’t as many opportunities this side
Yeah most companies are based here and 3/4 I have worked for are based here. Being in or close to Cities definitely helps. Joburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Nelspruit, Durban etc are good hotspots
Hey , you probably get a lot of these messages, but I really would like your honest advice. I’m currently doing my B.A degree and I definitely want to finish that but I’ve found a new love for coding is it really possible to get a job in tech with self teaching and online certifications etc be real with me and also , I plan on learning python first , and hopefully go from there , I’m a beginner I don’t really know what I’m doing but really willing to learn but I need that clarity and honesty in that regard first . Thank you
But if it not base on robots and humanoid still not good enough for bigger projects. Every app on the internet are the same or look like other people, all in one that can even control robots or appliances lol educational systems is poor in some institutes unfortunately 😢 without proper investigation

How many projects have you done? Having a strong portfolio not only helps as part of your CV but it also helps you practice the types of things that will be asked in interviews and you can bring it up when it's time to talk about experience. It's also an easy way to see what the gaps in your knowledge are.

Good to hear your projects worked for you, Josiah. Heard a lot of people emphasise the importance of having a portfolio of projects under your belt.
Yup it’s very important, they don’t have to be the most unique or fully completed but enough to work
