This speaks really well for Triumph and their standard level of fit, finish and reliability. I'm going to link this to a friend, her wife works at a Triumph dealership and might be interested in hearing about this. Well done, especially driving it to the rally, then through the rally (and back home, presumably).
Thanks dude, mega appreciate you sharing it. It certainly does speak a lot for the standard capability. It didn't falter on me once and I gave it some hell! haha Full video coming soon
I agree this really shouts out, hey check me out! Triumph doing a great job, and this video was spot on,short sweet, informative and to the point!. Great Job Vanessa! Thank you..Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year...
Short 'n sweet modifications from street. Bet not only one in one hundred thousand will do it and rally in the dunes (or rally at all). But your one in a million Vanessa.
Shortage in tyres is something you wouldn't want for such a rallye event. Good luck (and talent!) you kept the Triumph rolling. Cheers from a whitish Nürnberg/Germany, enjoy the heat, Günter
thanks Bruce, I wouldn't say I am that tough, more determined and never quite! You'll enjoy the Tunisia rally series on my channel if you want to see that drive in person.
Excellent video Vanessa! If you’re ever interested in helping me make a video entitled ‘ How to turn a Triumph desert bike into spare parts’ just lend me that beast!
Awesome and congrats so far. I'm nervous and rethinking the upper crash bars on mine, as there are just far too many reports of mounting engine case bolts shearing off with those upper bars....every mfg too across the board. So, I'll prob skip them sorry to say. (90% sheared off in NON FALL incidents like vibration/torsion fatigue failures, even wiht the NEW Triumph upper crash bars also). Be safe and thanks again!!
I confirm this issue. I hoped that new triumph upper crash bars will help. I feel that these non fall cases are all to be prevented by constantly checking if it didn't go loose and the torque is up to specs. But who does that? Riders before rallies I guess ;) I went with SW motech that don't use this faulty mounting point.
Hi Vanessa, thank you for this video. Can't wait to see the rally video. Please do say more about the tyres, are those you used better for different surfaces? Or useless?
@@TheGirlOnABike so it seems what you said in the video - that you wouldn't recommend them - was pretty polite. I can imagine the heat , the sweat and you're fighting in the sand. 🙉
Did you adjust the suspension for off road? It’s supposed to take the take angle to about 27.5 degrees. I imagine that would help out a lot in the sand.
think you are a very good rider to ride such a bike . hope 900 rally pro has got a setting with no traction control . as that is why i sold my 800xcx as kept getting stuck because of the traction control working too much . have a good xmas and have fun.
Did you do anything to keep it in your ride mode of choice? I have seen that the Rally Pro keepes resetting into road mode every time you cycle the ignition, with that big roadbook blocking the view?
A legal requirement is for it to start with traction / abs etc on. The tiger has a one click back to off road pro button so the fastest of any adv bike I’ve tried.
Hi, i have the same bike and i was interested in installing upper bars, but all of them damaged the tanks when tiping over and/or broke the bolts in the upper mount. Your bike as the new design from triumph, did they protect the bike 100% and also did the front alu beak break?
The best way to learn is by asking! A mousse is essentially a thick foam tube that replaces a regular tube, maintaining a steady pressure without air, and is essentially unable to get a puncture 🙂 hope that helps
what do you think is better for off-road, tubes or tubeless, when it comes to fixing and repairing, must be easier being tubeless, unless there is a tear and not a hole to plug, but then just pop in a tube, done it before for my old triumph thunderbird 900, stuck a tube in a tubeless and ran it for more than a thousand miles without an issue
@The Girl On A Bike literally just changed my caste wheels to spoked on the F750GS, yes it doesn't have the 21inch for easy rolling over the bigger things like logs and larger rocks, but she does just fine offroading. Just fitted karoo 3s as well, awesome tyre for the dirt, and feels good on the grey deck, any future rallies on the agenda and has Triumph given you the bike long-term to give another rally a shot. All the best Vanessa 👍
Only 8 I'm impressed! Still think the factory upper crash bars are weak and absolutely rubbish based on first hand experience. Slow speed drop, left side and the bars put a dent in my Rally Pro fuel tank 😒
no sadly not, but in rally you're standing a LOT so it was ok. If you watch the first two videos in this series you'll see my bottom discomfort with the seat lol
No suspension changes at all. I technically could have tweaked it but with the suspension spring not being the right one for my weight it would have barely made a difference. It felt good to be fair.

I guess possibly good for other surfaces but for what we hit they didn't make life easier. 🤣

Thanks Adrian. It sure does. It had off road pro mode which turns everything off in one click. Super ace mode to have

Can you advise on the model of Acerbis handguards that you fitted please.
Umm good question. It’s a pretty generic pair for adv bikes but I believe canned x-factor

Yeah they worked amazingly. Many many drop’s including on rocky riverbeds and no damage thankfully 💪
@@TheGirlOnABike Thanks for the reply, will probably order them when visiting next time the dealer!
Sry for all the comments on videos, but I'm learning here... ^^
What are these "Moose" Tires?!
The best way to learn is by asking! A mousse is essentially a thick foam tube that replaces a regular tube, maintaining a steady pressure without air, and is essentially unable to get a puncture 🙂 hope that helps

I’d defo go mousses first. Then tubeless for the reasons you say. Tube last last resort. Purely for easy and reliability

If you got separated from the bike it might be difficult to get to the flare 🤔. Great videos
haha I guess but if I'm separated from the bike I have far bigger issues!! lol

hello, can you tell me the brand of the upper crash bars please?
They’re genuine triumph parts 😚

oh blimey, ouch. I had many drops and they held out thankfully, even on rocky river beds. Sorry to hear you had issues though, not fun!

no sadly not, but in rally you're standing a LOT so it was ok. If you watch the first two videos in this series you'll see my bottom discomfort with the seat lol
@@TheGirlOnABike I watched them. Therefore I ask
Did you make any changes to the suspension settings for the rally?
Nope nothing. Given my weight it wasn't really worth it
@The Girl On A Bike pretty awesome really; road trip, arrive swap the tyres and whip off the panniers guvnor just gonna smash this rally. Well done 👏
Hi Vanessa, what tyres are they?
My reccomendation would be Michelin Anakee Wild 😁
Your favorite bike?
If I could only have one ever it would be a 300 two stroke husky for hard enduro hehe
Camera Man next time take few steps back and a proper dead cat.
Yeah I agree. It was track side on the last day of the rally so a little rushed. I'm sorry for the poor audio
Sponsored vidro I will be hear full truth about heavy bike and electronics systems at maximum speed 50mph on off road
Not sponsored. They provided a bike but if you follow my page you’ll know I’m not buyable. That bike absolutely smashed it 💪
so , sensible mods, without going silly, did you mod the suspention at all, good vid
No suspension changes at all. I technically could have tweaked it but with the suspension spring not being the right one for my weight it would have barely made a difference. It felt good to be fair.
