Hi Why is everyone ignoring the fact that we played in the middle of a storm and the ball was moving all over the place even after the players managed to control it it then moved in odd ways, it was a total leveller but wwe still outplayed them
theres a mental block since the leizig game,it may take some time to recover from energy spend in that performance..IT WAS ONCE IN A GENERATIONAL RESULT,,,,hail hail...
I think the conditions played a significant part in the result yesterday. That said , we do tend to drop a few points in the bleak mid winter and what I call the Celtic Music Season. I hope you'll forgive my shameless plug for Celtic Connections in attempting to illustrate that winter is and has always traditionally been even in the Stein years our weakest part of the season.
If you have to play Ralston, then you have to play Idah. Ralston doesn't overlap well, so he should pump the ball into the box from advanced right-back position.
Might be a hangover from the World Cup but I thought there was a FIFA instruction that substituted players who have to walk around the pitch should remove their shirts . I put it down to that . Japanese players are usually very respectful.
Back to front poor,Scales only pass mark,Hatate at least tried, sideways constantly, cannot understand why we never put a cross into box, numerous times yesterday we had the opportunity to cross but kept going backwards,Taylor has a left foot but keeps going bk inside to the congestion, was at the game,Hatate only took off Jersey due to being too hot,was i lower stand and he walked past fine, smiling 😊
I would happily trade in both Yang & and Palma for Jota. Monetary issues aside, though, I'm not sure BR would stick his neck out to bring back one of Ange's players. I hope some of the other management staff still keep in touch with him because it would be great to see him back in the hoops
No panic, 2 home games next before Derby. Re 75/80% possessions if fine but opponent's are letting us have the ball as they know we only play that back/across way. Coaching staff need to earn their corn and get creative on a plan B ☘️
Last Christmas we went to Pittodrie and it took a very late goal from Calmac to win the game. Aberdeen played that entire game in their own half. This is what we have to figure out when we visit away grounds in Scotland.
Looking back over the season, it is just as well Clement messed up in his team selection and they dropped point after point….now he has learned from his mistakes we had better be careful we do not become slack and careless going into the second half of the season…..
@@aero2507 Hitting the bar 5 times and missing 4 sitters, isn’t exactly struggling. They are creating a lot more than us currently, which speaks volumes for how bad we are playing.
Against Dundee United in dreadful weather we should have played low balls into their penalty area and scrapped for fifty fiftys….instead we played back and forward outside their penalty box all game and they happily sat back…..
Plenty of injuries, players who will nevber start if we have a full squad, awful weather etc and we still drew. Im worried about our decrease in performance since Leipzig but you cant take much from ydays game considering plenty of them will never play for us in Europe. My only real critique is that 1) Bernardo didnt start and 2) Kyogo played hide and seek with Dundeeds CBs instead of making himself available. Rodgers is gonna use this game as proof that we need another winger in Jan, Yang will go out on a loan and Palma will be sold and that'll be that as far as yesterday is concerned. Oh and maybe itll let us make a little bit more money on Welsh We should stop measuring ourselves against Rangers and instead look at what were doing vs what we can do. When we perform to our potential as a team we're unstoppable domestically.
When Calum is being man marked, then he needs to move up the pitch and let one of the other midfielders play the 6. He is just pointing to who the CBs should be passing to just now. That will screw up the opponents tactics. Need to rotate the 6 on the pitch.
There's a lot of stages between happy and panicked. My concerns are Celts have had a series of poor performances, including scraping through in the league cup final. Excuses are made for every poor performance while at the same time talking about "playing football the Glasgow Celtic way".
Jota's level is Celtic. He hasn't made it in the 5th best league, he didn't make it in Portugal either, Celtic and the SPL is the logical place for him.
No panic but all the signs are there in our last number of mediocre performances that our so called fringe players are No Where Near good enough. I await the January sales with interest !
5 first team players were not playing. Why CCV and trusty are ‘ill’ at same time is bizarre. No explanation. COVID or hangovers?😀 It’s next 2 games at home that count. The huns playing away. Roll on 2. jan. BR knows what’s needed.
Calum keeps pointing to who the CBs should be passing to but he doesn’t make room for himself and take initiative. Hatate is the bhoy coming back. Calum has to feck off up front and let the other lads interchange to the 6. They r man marking him but Calum being the forward mid, will fuk up that plan
Goodness sake, every team drops points, that’s why we are 9 ahead. Ok the displays haven’t been good the last 5 or 6, would you rather be in there position?
Try 9 games! Leipzig was the last good performance. Why reference ‘them’? Is that really the standard we hold ourselves too now? Is a skint 12 year old club the benchmark? or is it merely indicative of the obsession many of our supporters have with referencing them constantly?
@@leannecampbell4551 I mention them because that’s why people are panicking! I personally think we are so much better than all in Scotland but that’s who we play against every week. Out of interest who do you measure us against?
@@richardaustin5298 Considering our budget is bigger than the rest of the 11 clubs combined, we play in the least competitive top flight league in Europe, and we have a player (Engels) that is worth 1.5 million more than the Sevco side we beat in the LCF, it's impossible to measure us against any of the clubs in our league.
We had an 8 point lead last year and we lost it. We kept hearing about the squad size. Our squad is full of rank average players that aren’t good enough to wear the jersey. We’ve now an £11m player that is now benched. We’ve a striker in Kyogo that the game now passes him by and is so out of form and belief that it’s not funny anymore. A Captain that plays more side and backwards passes more than he does forward then it all goes BACK the way. The manager is watching this but still persists in not changing it. All this 75% possesion possession possession with NO goals then Rodgers gives the same players another 20mins 🤷🏻♀️🙄🙄. That’s less time to try and fix this or save the game like yesterday. Hatate Palma Welsh Taylor and even Kyogo could all go. The games are passing by Kyogo as he hardly got service that’s due to McGregor constantly passing backwards and sideways as Cmon it’s all about effin POSESSION 😡
Well said. How many poor games does our Captain consistently have but somehow miraculously always retains his place in the starting 11. He must be the only player in our history to be consistently shocking but is never subbed, not once do you see it. Blind faith shown in him by an inept manager.
how any fan can pay to watch there club by defending and not attacking in the whole game then cheer a draw at the end is beyond me and every single club in this league does it when they face us even the hun I wouldn't be paying to watch that pish.
It’s really starting to get on my tits reading comments or listening to podcasts and seeing people say how theirs no need to panic and it’s just a hiccup. First of all, I don’t know any one in my orbit or people I speak to who are panicked in any shape or form. It’s like a drunk person who keeps saying ‘I’m no drunk I’m fine’ when clearly they are blotto. It’s clear to me that people are panicking and are projecting that self doubt outwards ‘right lads honestly it’s fine’ I can safely say having been over the course and distance and thru it all as have many on here and beyond, there is no panic. If there is then god help ye. Yesterday’s game while a painful watch, should have been a win if not for an often seen Kyogo sitter. That’s the long and short of it, he sticks that away the performance would still be shit but the win in the bag. The squad depth has always lacked quality and the same folk who try and give Yang a chance were no doubt the same with Mikey Johnson. I said the same about MJ watching him in Rodgers first spell as I do about Yang, not good enough. Yang will never be. And the cup semi final v Aberdeen last season he was a disgrace and I’m shocked he ever got allowed back in the mix after that. United sat in and shut up shop and played like Goodwin does. But Kyogo has to bury that chance, it’s that simple. Nothing to do with their tactics. He has to stick it away. That’s the reason we didn’t win, nothing else. He’s the main man and he cost us. Everything else is just hysterical. There is no panic any where from what I gather.
This ‘Depleted side’ excuse is almost as embarrassing as the weather excuse! 🤦🏻♀️ We still had 7 first team regulars start the game, which is more than enough to win comfortably against a woeful opponent like United - who incidentally, just happened to have FIVE starters missing! I don’t hear them making excuses about key players missing and the weather, funny that isn’t it! In the context of the here and now, how we played prior to the beginning of November is completely irrelevant. Football happens in the present moment and you’re only as good as your last game. We have been chronic for the past 9. In domestic terms, the 6-0 thumping of Aberdeen was the last good all round performance. Aside from inept personnel that aren’t up to playing for Celtic (even though Rodgers believes they are), the root of our problems are exclusively strategic, both the planning and execution. As a result, Rodgers in-game tactical efforts are currently disjointed or ineffective because they are misaligned with playing to our strengths. Any team that sits-in against us, we have massive creativity issues in breaking them down, thanks to his tried, tested and failed middle-third central overload. Jeez, what an ingenious strategy to play through a narrow low-block. Best give that guy the manager of the year award already!! 👏
@@leannecampbell4551 yep in a Nutshell. As soon as I heard the wind and weather excuse along with the sickness excuse that alone told you why the way we played and the post match reaction. Then you have the Rockets in our support saying it’ll be 4-0 & 5-0 yesterday ? Really 🤷🏻♀️ what you basing that on. I hate the way Rodgers has his favs esp the Captain (ooh you cannie drop him) he’s our Sideball “talisman” who can’t grab the game by the scruff of the neck but he’s quick pointing at players where to play the ball.
