      hi M.S.A.H thanks for tuning in and the comment! I agree if you don't go with an EVA style case, a RC stick and screen protector are a good buy. There's a bundle with that, the EVA case for the drone and other stuff here: www.quadcopterguide.com/1fen

      I would say ND-filters first, can´t do without them and a pair of PolarPro retractor leg extenders that will protect the sensors while landing. Good video, thumbs up from Sweden

      Hi Magnus! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated. Your right ND filters are a must have. Is spring on the way yet in Sweden? Down here in Germany it keeps knocking on the door and then the weather gets freezing again... you flying the mavic 2?

    My personal favourites are the PolarPro gimbal cover and the retractable legs. What an amazing machine this is.

      Hey Steve, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated! I haven’t tried an aftermarket gimbal cover yet but I could see how a better one would make it just a bit nicer. The legs I wasn’t ever interested in due to the extra weight and perhaps aerodynamic impact. Do you notice a difference?

    • @scdronemedia
      @scdronemedia 4 роки тому

      @@Quadcopterguide The PolarPro gimbal cover has a few benefits to the DJI supplied one. It holds the gimbal and camera more securely, does not scratch the camera housing and is far easier to add and remove. The retractable legs lift the drone about an inch higher so the camera or rotors do not collect damp etc from slightly longer grass or hit the peg straps on the landing pad if not pegged down. As for weight etc., this is negligible and does not affect performance of the machine in the air at all. They also fold down against the drone rotor arms and fit in the case without the need to remove.
      Also I bought a case which I find excellent. This is the one I have: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07HBMVBKG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . It holds all the items from the drone and fly more combo pack, landing pad, 10" tablet, sun guard (for camera), ND filter packs (I have 2 packs of 3 atm) and the Skyreat Aluminum-Alloy Foldable Tablet Mount Holder. All items securely held together, protected from rain and knocks in a relatively small case.

    Yesterday I was flying the Mavic 2 Zoom. I am still thinking of getting a pro gimbal assembly or a pro drone for the many reasons I should get one.
    But, yesterday I found out that the zoom has major advantages. I was filming a tractor working in the fields. I was allowed to get up close to him. I checked my screen and thought I was way too close. I checked the physical aircraft and found out I could get another 15 meter closer. Just because I was able to zoom in while maintaining the 4K resolution.
    PS, in two weeks I will have to film _(with the big camera and Mavic)_ in Germany, in 4 different cities. Not sure yet which cities though.

But i am a hobbyist with a long time interest in vvideo and photography. I am glad i waited so long (always a bit nervous about breaking the rules or annoying people) because bithe the Zoom and Mavic 2 Pro appear to e amazing pieces of tech. Awesome man. Of course you are spot on, on how drones can supplement ground based filmmaking. Nice to see you have done your research a bit and gotten the required paperwork for your country. Maybe there are apps out there by transport Canada where it makes it easy to find where you can legally fly, without having to worry. The Mavic 2 Platform has a lot of technology which has been refined for a few generations now. Just the other day I looked at footage filmed with my old Phantom 3 Pro. The difference is quite amazing. If you have any questions regarding the drones, which ones you should consider or just want help picking the right accessories, shoot me an email. • @marktuttle9721
      @marktuttle9721 5 років тому +1

      I purchased a similar pad from Amazon and the construction is quite good. Main issue is preventing the pad from being blown by wind or rotor wash from the drone, when not using the three stakes (launching from a hard surface). Large V paper clips may work and would not obscure the rotors. We also have a 5 ft diameter pad, and it works quite well for the Matrice 210, without using the stakes. These are good investments, and also be sure to frequently use a compressed gas duster to blow out debris from the motor areas.

      Hey Mark thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated! I fully agree with you that the landing pads do come in handy. Sure it’s another thing to lug around, but luckily compact enough. What do you about with the Matrice 210? That thing is a beast.

      Quadcopterguide Never flown a drone...but do have a nitro rc helicopter and a rc plane. I still use a Canon EOS 1D MKII. Had it since they were released around 2004. Yes its old now and only 8.2meg....but it taught me about light and forced me to maximise available light and shutter speed etc. The newer models can take far better low light images out of the camera but I always feel the camera only captures the image the person takes it. I have decent glass for it inc a few L lenses. I have thought about a Canon 1DX but while I can still enjoy what I have I wont upgrade. Plus many people get caught up in the mega pixel belief of the more you have the better. Whrn in reality it is a lot to do with sensor size and spread etc. Any way I have bored you long enough lol. I am enjoying your videos. One tip I can give about photography is.....always manual if you can and take numerous of the same shot using different settings do you get the feel what your device can do.....so when an opportunity presents itself you already know the settings. Appreciate your reply

      @@ardscorner Agree with you on many points. People in all camera segments from smartphone cameras to DSLRs can get distracted by MP. How many of us Camera users really print Billboards? If so we need a medium format anyways.
      It's all about how large those pixels are, and of course the sensor as a whole.
      I got into Photography back with my first class in High School. Pentax K1000's i think we used. Then got my feet wet in medium format with a used Yashica Mat 124G. I loved the detail i was getting. My first Canon was an Elan 7e. Then the first DSLR the Rebel XT (EOS 350D). From there to a 50D, and now to a Sony A6500 for 4K video and awesome Autofocus while videoing. I am enjoying getting AEB (5) Images with the Mavic 2 Pro and getting some nice HDR images out of them. But as you put it, practice makes perfect.

      Hey Paul, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. That is a great question. Ironically i have a lens shade for my older Mavic and like you i haven't used it. In reality the lens shade only shades the camera if you aren't perfectly aimed at the sun, and then it stops helping just a few degrees from that angle, so really, how useful is it. Perhaps i should look into this more but for now I don't use any. Plus most of them seem to reduce airflow over the intakes, which is a turn-off for me. Which drone you flying Paul?

      @@SJMDronesMedia Haha! I know how it goes. Do you find you need the Phantom 4 Pro often over the Mavic 2 Pro? I supposed i don't normally have a need for 4K60P, so my Phantom 4 Pro+ stays at home most of the time. Also what do you think about the Yuneec in comparison to the others?

    • @SJMDronesMedia
      @SJMDronesMedia 5 років тому +1

      Quadcopterguide the Yuneec Q500 is only 1080p but it’s a reliable stable video platform, my P4P is my favourite drone it’s just quality, although not as portable as the Mavics lol, it’s an expensive hobby, I use the iPad Air or Pro as my screen , regards.

      Awe man, I have been itching to try out an Ipad Pro. Is the anti-glare good enough? It seems like you need to travel with a pop-up tent or umbrella to see everything clearly on something like that. The Phantom 4 Pro is really good. Haha no problem man. It would be cool to be able to load your own splash-screen. But I’m sure that feature is pretty low on the priority list of the Devs. Nice the M2P is a very capable drone. Do you fly mainly for personal type stuff or do you fly paid gigs with it?

      Hi there! The mountain shots were at Walchensee, Bavaria. I recorded them in DLOG, so it was recorded in a very flat color profile. So yes, it was edited.

    • @Quadcopterguide
      @Quadcopterguide  4 роки тому

      yup they feel much more solid when plugging and unplugging, they do take a bunch of space.. The plugs without ground are much thinner thought. I like that the metal contacts are round, they don't bend like the ones in the US do.

    Did I hear that right, your in Germany?! If so,that is Awesome. I’m a journey level carpenter and have my own wood shop as well. I buy many German made tools. German engineers are far superior as tool makers versus the ones here in the USA.

    Can I just use my car sun shade?

    • @Quadcopterguide
      @Quadcopterguide  5 років тому

      Hey Esteban, thanks for stopping by! A car sunshade works similarly. The only thing is that the fabric doesn’t get stretched as tight on the sunshades I’ve used over the years. Just make sure it’s tight enough to be relatively even. If it’s too windy the sunshade may lift off but when it’s that windy he question is would you be flying the Mavic 2?

    Lipo bags do not keep the lipo batteries safe, lipo batteries when they go bad they tend to blow up after puffing up but they don’t always puff up when they decide to blow up.

    • @Quadcopterguide
      @Quadcopterguide  4 роки тому

      Hey Keith thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Much appreciated! I agree the lipo bags are better than nothing but not the best. I will be reviewing my LiPo Safe which I purchased a while back. Only thing I have found that is rated for what we really need.

  • @yurihuski
    @yurihuski 5 років тому

    i felt more than half of the accessories you dont really need. Pad - well just handheld it saves you time and hassle and tall grass doesn’t really matter if it isnt overloading your gimbal. lipo bag - seriously... that size for what? smart controller - if its not for the sub zero there isnt really a point and if you aint a pro it doesn’t matter and pros usually will get inspire anyway. protective case - well mavic needs to be easy to carry and weight less, if you are hiking the weight of the case will add up and its not that fragile. Car charger - how often you going to drive an hour to a place that you want to fly and just happened that your battery is empty?
    I’d personally recommend a cover bag, propeller protector to make the drone easy to put in the bag, simultaneous battery charger.

    • @Quadcopterguide
      @Quadcopterguide  5 років тому

      Hey thanks for your comment. The larger lipo bag fits the multi-charger with 4 batteries. Super handy. The Smart Controller like I mentioned is a nice to have. The advantages are detailed in my Smart Controller review. My light weight case is the bag I linked, weighs a few grams. I like the car charger because it’s universal. Doesn’t weigh a lot or take up a ton of space. Great to just keep in the car.
      You fly the mavic 2 Pro or mavic 2 Zoom?
