Ditto; hearing that Shredder got away with loads of cash from his final heist is cathartic, as the poor guy deserved a win.

RIP James Avery. I love how much fun he had with the role; so many actors could've poo-poo-ed voicing a character for a children's cartoon, but he seemed to have really appreciated the fun of it all. I always admire that when actors talk about roles like this. Like, how many of us would kill to have a job half as fun as that?

My favorite was how he treated Bebop and Rocksteady like his kids sometimes.

The thing people need to be aware of is that this is a grift. Hollywood, and corporate America in general, don't give a hot goddamn about racial equality. This business of only hiring voice actors who match the characters' race is weaponized tokenism, they're PANDERING to you. And don't get me wrong, more black and asian actors get a job? Awesome, it's about time! But you need to be aware of the cynicism behind the political front here. Indeed, it's a very silly policy. Dr. Hibert being voiced by a white guy wasn't the thing that's holding back society from being more fare, civil, and accommodating to people who've been systematically excluded from prosperity and safety. This isn't the issue, cartoons aren't blocking Dr. King's dream. This is a distraction. We're being played.

    The actor is dead
The show has ended a million years ago
This interview was done a thousand years ago
    I have watched the 80's - 90's Turtles a million times
The outcome: I'm still pissing myself out of humbleness watching all this glory come out at me from a mere UA-cam video

For those who aren't aware of this, James Avery died from complications open heart surgery on December 31st (New Year's Eve) of 2013 and now that I am aware of it, every New Year's Eve will be a painful reminder of his death and despite that I didn't know him personally, I sure do miss him. I wish he had once again voiced as the 1987 version of Shredder for the 2009 animated TV movie "Turtles Forever" of when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles of the 2003 animated series meet their counterparts of the 1987 animated series and the 1984 Mirage comic book and also for the episodes "Trans-Dimensional Turtles" of season 4 and "Wanted: Bebop and Rocksteady" of season 5 of the 2012 series of when the Turtles of the 2012 series also meet their counterparts of the 1987 series.

James Avery was a top class human who sticks out even more in Hollywood. He was one of the realest guys around and I think that helped a lot of people around him where in Hollywood it's easy to end up being someone very seperated from reality.

There was a point when I was reading the oldest X-Men comics through Marvel's app. In those days, Magneto was a very cookie-cutter villain, just stereotypically evil. He always felt like this Shredder to me, so I always read it in James Avery's voice.

Phil's voice sounds metalic to imagine being in a metal mask like Shredder, best villain voice. It is like Darth Vader with the great voice from James Earl Jones, Dark Metalic.
