  • I went form Boston College to Park Street today. That is the entire distance of the B green line train, and it wasn't too long of a ride. The green line is definitely a slow line, and it's almost more like a trolley as it does ride on rails, but it is on ground level for most of the trip. I enjoyed this ride, and the train and action definitely increases as the video goes more people get on. I hope you enjoy the video!

An addendum: Boston invented the," Two rooms with a bath",concept back in the early 1900's,as the Boston Elevated company was trying to get more capacity in the Subway, and lines entering/exiting! See O.R. Cummings books on Boston rolling stock! There is much history, that people simply don't know about! And Articulated cars,in general are not new, many cities besides Boston have had them! Baltimore,Milwaukee,Chicago, and quite a few more, were pioneering that type of equipment very early on! Anyway,it should give you an excuse to hit the MBTA library! Thank you for giving a good ground level view of the changes, that have occurred over the past 100 plus years,of the Tremont Subway! Thank you 😇 😊!

If you want a good history of the Green Line, see BSRA bulletins 23,24,& 25 as the give the historical background on the Tremont Subway, and the decades of the 40's and 50's! Lots of change, and with mixed and interesting results! Thank you! Thank you 😇 😊!

Empty a train as I have ever seen anywhere in the world. Some of my favorites are Guayaquil to Quito in Ecuador, Lima to Cusco in Peru, Orient Express in Europe going Paris to Istanbul. and the Trans Siberian Golden Eagle across Russia. and the Copper Canyon Train in Mexico. Those first two trains cross summits of over 14,000 feet. Can't say I have been to Boston in over 50 years but Miami, Chicago, LA, Seattle and others are all filthy and Dangerous with passengers using drugs and the cars as bathrooms.

This is one of the most crowded light rails in the country. This is the outer edge of the line. It gets busier as it travels into the city.
