Thank you for the tips. I've done some willow crosses this spring and excited to see some capsules swelling. I was looking for tips for seed collection and seed sowing and it was nice to see your technique. From my memory, it seems like the capsules mature somewhat quickly (within a few weeks or so) and I better keep a close eye on the developing fruits so I don't lose the seeds.

So black willow seeds should NOT be buried? I'm thinking of trying to germinate some.
Why Vac the seeds? and what's the deal with the cottonball?
The cotton ball around the seed makes it so the seed can drift in the breeze and hopefully find somewhere it can grow
