    This was a Planet Waves advert video for their solderless cables. JP was endorsed by PW at the time so they built the rig with those cables. Since then (and prior to that) Mark has used Mogami and soldered them. Anyone familiar with JP's rigs over the years knows that Mark is pretty known for neat wiring.

    I was there in Manchester, UK in Jan 2004 to hear it first time to a live audience and I can honestly say it sounded AMAZING!!! VERY heavy guitar tones for Train of Thought came through really well!

    Is Mark Snyder the builder of those Snyder amps? I've only seen a combo[with 1-12 inch] and i've never heard a Snyder. They get a good report from the East coast types. Thanks for posting this! I've built all my own set ups. It was never easy or cheap. I'm glad to see that it works that way for the pros too.

    they do give them some stuff for free.. that's what being endorsed is all about. If they want extra stuff, like JP usually gets two of the same heads plus a different one, he pays for the extra stuff.

    Yeah, but the original WMP file was about half the size of this. I wish they released a better size, cause it looks awful here.
    Never mind. I like this video regardless. It's cool to see how JP's TOT tour gear was put together

    He probably gets a discount yes, but unless Mesa has changed its policy very recently, they don't give gear to endorsers... last I knew, even Metallica. It doesn't get any higher profile than that for Mesa.

    Man that rig is complex.

    The whole rig is probably close to $50,000 when you think of the 5 heads, all of the effects, actually having the cabinets built, with the footpedals etc. The thing is, JP probably already owned most of the stuff anyway so the cost at one time isn't that great. But over time, like I said it is the most expansive and expensive rig I have ever seen.

      Every 80s/90s session musicians had those type of rigs back in the days. This because the quality of rack systems is superior than anything, today digital systems can emulate that very well (plug-ins, modelers etc).
      The cost was too much anyway ahaha

    No joke man, I forgot about that. That's another $30K if you had to buy them, which I am sure he gets them for free.

    obiously he gets his signature model for free. Actually he gets paid just for saying he plays music man exclusivelly. it happens when you are famous, talented and hot...lol

  • @mesavox
    @mesavox 16 років тому

    He does NOT get the Mesa gear free. He's certainly forked a lot of money out over the years on MKIIC+ and what not. So, the amps alone are 12k ish range here... he's still forking over an econo car dollar figure. lol
