Interesting to see the tables turned and it's the cuckoo failing at the one thing it was born to do.
One reason could be it hatched later. Usually the cuckoo chick hatch earlier than the host bird's eggs and once hatched, the cuckoo chick will conveniently throw other eggs from the nest, nature can be cruel. Bad luck.
@@MGAnnAdThat could be it. I also looked around, and this channel does sometimes manipulate situations. Like adding in extra cuckoos, or adding in a fresh cuckoo hatchling to a nest of older host hatchlings.

@@nyancat8828 Sometimes people paint a contrasting picture thinking it emphasize the good part (able-body) and justifies their decision relative to the sad part. It often blurs just a tiny bit of underlying shame. And you see people constantly compare both if the situation suits. But animals have instinct, humans have consciousness, awareness so can one say it's all the same and that's it. I'm not saying what he did was wrong though. His answer was just lame 😅

You gotta learn the way some birds operate. They have babies and drop their eggs in another bird species nest for the other birds to feed them.They don't bother to feed or raise their own.

Birds do not have children. Children are born. Chicks are hatched.
Hatched and born are technically the same thing. Both are forms of a birthing process. Born is leaving body of mammal while hatched is leaving of egg.

Usually cuckoo chicks are bigger than "home" ones, so here it must have hatched late, that's why it is so small. I do not believe mother is "too clever", it's just good luck for her own babies. They are bigger and get the food easier. But, based on the video from March 30, the cuckoo managed to throw them away anyway.

@@casedistortedDon't cast human aspersions onto animals. What they do is instinctual in order to survive. The cuckoo chick didn't choose to be born in another bird's nest and isn't consciously deciding to push out the other chicks. They don't have concepts of death and murder like we do, it's survival of the fittest and it is doing what it has evolved over millions of years to do to survive.

Her baby’s got lucky, by the looks of the feather growth they were born before the Cuckoo and therefore are able to ensure they can eat and not be thrown out the nest by the cuckoo. Momma bird will most likely feed the baby tho…it’s just in their nature.
