Beautiful message and artistry. Loved this line: "He will do everything He can to help us turn our slopes toward heaven."
Thanks for commenting, Benjamin, and for sharing your favorite part of the video!

God made this just for me! I struggle with severe depression and lately it has been very difficult for me to feel comfortable with partaking in gospel oriented media. As a kid I watched sprout (a tv channel) and my favorite part was the sand painting stories so when I saw this I knew it was God reaching out to me! Thank you
😇

Yes! He knows and loves you so much. You are written in his heart...
I feel as though I listened to this when I needed to hear it. The artist who used the black dust to help convey Elder Gilbert's words using black dust was incredible, and I was inspired by both the spoken word and the intricate art. Thank you
Christ can lift us from wherever we are... What an important message, and so beautifully illustrated.
Thank you for this video, it put my thought"s back on track, I have a tendency even at 53 years old to constantly live in my past! It's not easy to let go of a past that was so bad I have been told by nurses and psychiatrist that I should write a book .
Can you please share the name of the artist in this video? I'd love to follow more of their work.
Hi Spencer, thanks for your question. The artist is Joe Castillo.
Reminds me of hiw Jesus drew in the sand when the woman was about to be stoned to death... beautiful message... thank you. I've shared with my ward and the youth
This is the kind of serious lesson that needs to be taught in every church around the world; our own as well as others.
Thank you for sharing this message today.
Love that they paired his talk with this remarkable art 😍 it doesn’t matter where we start, but it matters where we end: God’s presence 😇
Thank you. I needed that. I started life with a few bumps in the road that have made my journey difficult. But I am heading in the right direction.
The woman who does the sand art shown in the video is absolutely amazing! I remember watching her perform live, some years ago, and I was blown away at how quickly she worked, and how skilled she was.
That aside, the message of the video is also quite poignant, especially now.
The artist for this video is Joe Castillo
Excellent explanation and imagery. I like the drawings of the artist. This explanation is so true, it matters what each of us do in this life. Putting out a little extra effort daily helping others and holding tight to the rod of iron will take us for a wonderful Adventure we need to accomplish in mortality. Is it possible for all of us to be more grateful as we navigate this life? I see being grateful constantly helps us to navigate around the trials and tribulations of life more easily, but first we have to give the Lord our burdens and concerns. The Lord's yoke is easy and brings more peace of mind, I don't want my yoke anymore, the Lord's yoke is easy, less dress and don't need the burden. Then life can get better and better instead of worse and worse, I don't like that word, worse to me it's a negative. I don't need negative in my life. The positive seems to bring more peace to your life.
To venerate fiction to Gospel is blasphemy.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The art by itself is beautiful, the talk by Elder Gilbert is inspired, together they are transcendent. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of art and inspiration about the Savior and what it means for each of us.
This is such a beautiful message :) and the production is so well put together
"IT IS NOT WHERE WE
STAND RIGHT NOW,
IT IS THE DIRECTION
WE ARE GOING".
Beautiful! May we each come to an understanding of this parable as it relates to us individually is my prayer. ❤️

Thanks for sharing this amazing video! I felt like I needed to watch this one today ❤
I love this. God is real and he expects us to improve. That doesn’t matter if we go from a 1 to a 2 or a 99 to a 100. All he wants is for us to help others and improve. I also believe that where much is given much is expected.
I love the message, and the artistic prowess of this individual is simply astounding
Jesus sees potential in every living soul. He knows the eventual and can lift us on our slope. This message came at a great time, for me. I am getting my strength back after recovering from surgery. After 2 months, I am still getting tired and have to remind myself of the progress. Spiritually, this is true, too. Medications can set you back.
I loved this talk. I've referenced it many times as I teach my kids. Thank you for layering it on top of something so visually fun to watch. It's creative, fresh, and sort of mesmerizing. Great job!
What a beautiful message. God does not judge us by our starting point, only on our slope.
Thank you for sharing this message! It really resonated with me and helped me place my life's big picture into focus. 😃
Wonderful message. I remember this talk from Elder Gilbert. Also, I really enjoyed the art they chose to depict this teaching. So clever!
Beautiful message! and TRULY AMAZING TALENT!!!!! Thank you for sharing your talent!
My life began with elevated circumstances but my inner slope became stagnant. Thankfully, through Christ’s atonement, I am on back on a positive trajectory. This video helped me see that perspective in a very emotionally stirring way!
Thanks for sharing how this video and Christ's atonement have helped you!
This is one of the most beautiful messages made even better by the artistic talent shown. Thank you!

This is a very cool video, and probably helpful to those born into unfortunate circumstances. This shows once again that the answer is always christ ❤
I remember this talk. I am fascinated with the way the artist uses both hands simultaneously.
The comforter our souls. Our father who will never forsake us. May everyone reading forever remain blessed Amen. I'm also offering remote jobs with a pay of $2,500 monthly to anyone in need. As God has given me, I will also give back.
That was so beautiful🙃 I have started on a difficult starting point, and this video described myself😅. I am so glad to have seen this video and follow its principles.
Thanks for your comment. We hope that as you turn to the Lord, you will find joy and peace.
What profound words and a lovely artistic talent to go along with it! This was such a cute video!!!
In a world dominated by materialistic pursuits and desires, these teachings give me peace! I am grateful to know that The Lord doesn’t care so much about where we start, but where we are at now and where we, with His help, can go.
as someone used to being on instagram i double tapped your comment half expecting the thumbs-up icon to light up, forgot that i actually had to tap on the icon lol
I love this video! It always make me feel closer to the savior when I see something so inspirational and uplifting!❤❤
I believe nothing is unfair. Just like our choices in this life will determine our advantage in the next life, our choices and promises made in the premortal life has directly influenced and shaped our life NOW.
Love this video!! Felt the Spirit very strongly.
Thanx. It seems as though someone keeps throwing banana peels on my on my path.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Thank you for the encouragement, for this message from the Lord today. I appreciate it. God bless you.
amazing!
This art is amazing! Helps me listen to the message better.

PRAISE THE LORD 🙏🙏✝️🙏✝️🙏✝️🖐️🙌✨✴️
i love this, the hand art is stunning with such a great message!
I love this! What a great message for each of us to consider.
We can choose a positive slope by focusing on Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. And a great reminder to realize that our blessings come from God.
Amen! 🙏✝️😇❤️
Hi, My name's Jessi. I'm from Canada, Weyburn, Saskatchewan, I visited your website.
~
A few years ago I repented to God then begged for help, "I was until then an Atheist."
I then had a dream of Jesus coming before God and he spoke of the Tabernacle in perfect context, "A word I didn't know existed.", and what I felt from Jesus when I held him was unlike anything I've ever felt before - A lifetime of Love every second - It brought me to sobbing and it changed my life, forever.
I've had other experiences since, "Several witnessed", one was seeing a bright orb of light pass across my face in the dark, hours before a major surgery the second I gave up in my heart.
Know that God and Jesus ARE real and that they Love us deeply. Let go of your hatred and Imagine yourself holding the people who've hurt you. Tell them you Love them.
Always have hope, I believe that prayer, following God's laws & Love is the answer, and through that, Truly becoming humble, merciful, welcoming, giving, gentle, respectful and forgiving, To All.
I remember when President Gilbert was President of BYU-I. I loved this talk during General Conference, and I'm so glad it has a video now!!
I saw this and then shared it with my parents as a spiritual thought for tonight!❤
No more inspirational videos?? 😭😭 It's been a whole year!!
My Lord Jesus save me and my family from the Bad elements. Save us from evil.
Very good news. These are the things we want to studies so that we can be seen wise. Thanks once again!!
Very educative message to me and all, am thankful
Quick, new parable just dropped 🗣️ 🗣️ 🔥
That was a beautiful piece of work. Praise God!
Well done, thank you!
We are eternal beings. To extend the math analogy, our differing y-intercepts are basically insignificant when we 'zoom out' over infinite lines. When extrapolated to infinity, only the direction of our slope (not the y-intercept or the magnitude) determines where we will end up. While 'zoomed in' in mortality the differences in our starting points (or any points) are sometimes painfully apparent, but the slope is not apparent and therefore our ability to judge is not only hampered, but non-existent.
This is beautiful! Thank you so much.
It's all about ones frequency and mindset .
Beautiful, timely, and important. Thank you.
This artwork and Elder Gilbert's thoughts were beautiful together. Thank you for producing such an inspiring piece.

This was super cool. He was my first BYU-I president. One of his kids was in my 5th and 6th grade classes. Cool to hear this message.
Wonderful!!!!
Anything by Elder Gilbert is like gold!!
Nice to see you nothing but good you
I recently just went to the temple for the first time and I ask god, “what do you want from me ?” And I didn’t receive an answer so I asked him 6x more and I felt and heard a voice say, “ all I want is for you to have peace” god has understand everyone is different and he understood that’s what I needed to hear.
Beautiful. ❤
love this talk, and who ever did the sand art in the back, WOW
Trippy drawing method
Beautiful message, and beautiful art
Such beautiful sand art! I'm amazed that I could tell when it was supposed to be Jesus.
☺
Thanks!
The imageryin this is simply phenomenal.
I know God is real. I have spoken with angels, helped minister to the sick, naked, and hungry. I am an instrument in His hands for His purposes and in that I have genuine peace. I know heaven is for everyone and all we need to do is believe in Christ. I believe in Christ. He is my Savior, Master, and friend. He loves me and, again, He loves all of His children. I know God is real. I am a special witness of His divinity and healing; I am a Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God... I love Him. I love God the Father and His Son.. And in that I leave you all my special witness in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Great Christ centered content.
Kind of off-topic, but as a disabled person I just want to help raise awareness that many people do not view disability as a deformity. Rather it is a crucial part of who we are. We wouldn’t be ourselves without it. Now I am not speaking for all disabled people as I am sure there are many who would rather not be disabled and their opinions are valid. But careful not to universalize disability as a deformity.
What kind of strange treasure map graphic is this? I thought the illustration of this concept would have been pretty obvious….
