This game is and forever will be my favorite game. The story was incredible, the game play was magnificent, the characters are well rounded. This game SERIOUSLY needs a sequel of some sort.
Im saying it doesnt need one. Look at my banner, my favorite game of all time is an rpg that people always say "oh it needs a sequel".... No, it doesnt. Think about this.... why cant it be a good standalone game? Why does it need a sequel that could either be better, and overshadow this entry, OR, be shit and drag the whole "series" down? People need to understand that all good things come to an end, and Id rather have one fantastic game, than possibly have a series with a shitty end game..... Id rather see this title Remade for Xbox One.
This game is so awesome. Never played it on it's original release, but got the chance to play it when they were giving the digital version for free in December last year for Backwards Compatible for Xbox One. Having to have played, I can easily call this one of my most favorite JRPGS of all time. This game really does feel underrated.
That was one of few last boss fights that I really loved. I don't mean difficulty or everything but it was just done perfectly for me. I really like how all characters support one another here.
Years after I'm finally able to complete the ending via UA-cam. So I guess kaim gets to live for ever that kinda sucks. But this must be the Final best game.
Aside from a few final fantasy staples such as chocobos and Espers (summons) this game basically is a Final Fantasy game. It's all there, expansive overworld, plot to save the world from evil, deep turn based combat, air ships, side quests. It's a shame so many people overlooked this masterpiece.
Evan Czarkowski The most annoying thing for me about the game was that the freaking 4th disc didn't work properbly so I was never able to finish the game :/ How should the final boss have been in your opinion?
The Noodle Hunter The story is quite dark and thought provoking but the realism of the personalities is so refreshing. I mean even our hero looks average if not below so. This game was so underrated
Somebody once told me that this game was originally supposed to be Final Fantasy XI, but the developers went the online route instead and made this a standalone.
One of the most under rated and greatest JRPGs for the Xbox 360, looks even better with Xbox One X Enhancements if full 4k...! I think I'll do a gameplay upload of that.
damn gongora is truely evil that he manipulated kaim to slash his wife ngl running around in the ruins and lvling up rly made the gongora fight ez as heck
Btw one nice thing playing this on Series X again was that now all those loading times/screens were gone 😄 so even though the game sadly has not received any enchantments nor optimized for Series X, that SSD really helps eliminate any loading times and ofc framerate stays stable at every situation in these older games as well Just sad thing how overlooked/underrated game LO is and that it never got a sequel. And ye I know not every game needs a sequel but I would have loved to visit these characters and that world again in new story
Great game - but the one thing I didn't like, was how 1-dimensional Gongora was. I would've liked to see what brought him to this point - what his 1000 years were.
Com certeza um dos melhores RPGs que já finalizou e faz ums 6 anos e o top RPG turno e o meu estilo favorito de RPG depois do strategia, jogo qualquer jogo excerto futebol e o RPG,terror, investigação sao os meus preferidos
Mostly, developers have been playing with innovation and failing miserably. There was nothing broken about the JPRG formula to begin with, simply that a bunch of new kids who aren't even fans of the genre were complaining about how OLD it is. If you don't like the JRPG formula then maybe the genre simply isn't for you. That's like, some RPG fan complaining about how some shooter game doesn't play enough like an RPG and demanding changes to the shooter genre. Some like western RPGs for their gameplay. Others prefer JRPGs for their heavier stories and character development. People just need to play the games and genres that are the right fit for them.
I'm not sure I read your comment correctly, but what I was implying was that I am not a huge fan of newer RPGs. The newest RPG I've played is Mother 3, and I was commenting on the fact that it is awesome that a newer-looking game appears to have that awesome RPG style that I've loved since I first played Final Fantasy IV and Pokémon. :)
God I loved the battle system in this game! Lol the way you can make other characters learn from each other and the difference between the front line and the back line the planing…this game is like my perfect RPGgame lol
Ok so I had this game for years but was always stuck on the last boss and never finished it, and so today I just decided to give up and look it up! ... Hmm a pretty solid ending. :)
nice! I played this when I was 11 and quit half way through (progress didn't save) Then when I was 13 I decided to start from scratch and finished it all! It was amazing :D
Was it just me or were the final bosses extremely easy? I was bracing myself for it to be extremely hard and it wasnt at all. I thought it was almost a joke. All I had to do was use divide with ming and sarah and combo hit with seth and kaim. And for gongora, I used black magic with ming and sarah that corresponded with gongora's magic element and used combo hit again with seth and kaim. I didnt need to use any enhancers or potions or anything and the bosses fell like flies. I had 15 slot seeds that I didnt even use because I was saving it for gongora since I wasnt sure when I was going to fight him. And when I defeated him, I thought maybe he'll revive himself and turn into a bigger monster or something but nope. I dont know. I was pretty disappointed actually. It is still a good game, but I dont know why the final boss was that easy.
I’m having so many flashbacks seeing their faces again after so many years…when I seen sarah I remember that haunted house…and I seen Kaim I remember seeing his daughter lirum…I remember I really liked that name lol and Seth..what I remember about her is one of the memories you find where pirates find out she’s an immortal so they trap her and tie her up in a cave for decades or maybe even a hundred years or more…and something about a lamp…and the last boss here…all I remember is dude was a snake lol…and seths son being a momas boy even though the dude is old asf..lol Such a good game and the writing for the story is top notch and filling it all with back story and a rich history…I remember getting attached to these characters for the first time I ever gamed lol that rarely happens to me but damn…it’s so damn good lol I would recommend this as a mandatory play as an RPG fan I guarantee it won’t disappoint
Though I already know they ported this game to the Xbox One, I think it needs a remake, for the story, the characters and the content itself are pure gold and need to be preserved (considering that games nowadays only focus on fancy graphics but poor story-telling and bland characters, and, even worse, microtransactions). Note; Well, not all the latest games are bad, there are still exceptions (NieR: Automata, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, Devil May Cry 5, God of War 4, Red Dead Redemption 2, etc.), but, comparing this modern videogame era to the older ones, videogames like; Dragon Age: Origins, Lost Odyssey, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Halo 3, Final Fantasy X, Devil May Cry 3, Bayonetta, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, God of War 2 and so on, it's pretty clear that the industry has been decaying over the course of years, especially, because like I said, some AAA games come with an incomplete story that developers hope to “complete” via DLC (FFXV or Dead Rising 4 are clear examples), either that or some games just focuse on graphics or microtransactions.
I agree 1000%....i mean just look at all those "big budget triple A games" that are years in development and still turn out shite.... Fallout 76, Anthem, Cyberpunk 2077....the list goes on... Yes there are also still some very good games out there every year but I fully agree that before things used to be better. And also that this game would deserve remake or remaster. I just replayed it after 11 years on Series X and one good thing atleast was that thanks to SSD those loading times we're all gone and framerate was more stable at every situation. So while it wasn't by no means same as having remastered or Series X enchanted version, it was still great to replay this on Series X. Having all those loading screens eliminated between cutscenes/when moving from one area to another already greatly improved the experience for me Also I have to say visuals and especially the facial animation in this still hold up remarkably well....how the hell im many RPGs these days facial animation is worse than it was over a decade ago.....take Mass Effect Andromeda as other example from more modern games that had ridiculously bad facial expressions/animation and compare it to this....
@@Balnazzardi Yeah it’s a shame. Also, it seems that offline games are less common, because most of them are either online or they seem to give more importance to the online aspect rather than the offline aspect (story, characters, gameplay, etc.) An example of this is Halo 5, I mean it doesn’t even multiplayer to begin with and its campaign is decent at best, its online mode is quite enjoyable though, but that’s just wrong. Take for example Dark Souls 3, its PvP might be “decent”, but its story mode was great, and I felt that the developers actually put more care in making their game fun, enjoyable and memorable, they focused on the game itself, and then, they focused on the online aspect. Andromeda was a disappointment and so is Cyberpunk (for the console versions at least), Fallout 76 should have put Bethesda in bankrupt TBH, so much talk from Todd, saying it was Bethesda’s biggest project and all that shit, but at the end, it ended up being a mediocre, incomplete and buggy mess of a “game”.
Also, didn't you get Ming's ultimate attack? It's white magic, but I can't recall what the name of it is. You get it from one of the optional dungeon bosses.
Is Seth like made to have better RNG during this battle to make losing her at the end hurt more? She absorbed so many spells in a row and got so many crits XD
This game and legend of dragoon need to be capitalized on right now. It’s a win win. Companies would make a fortune and I would buy it and a higher price cuz it’s worth it.
I loved the gameplay, I liked the story, and Kaim's damn dreams gave me major feels or made me cry like a high school girl. But I'm not so fond of the last boss or the ending. It felt a little too generic.
Sage Mantis Yes, sadly. And the gaming industry is headed in a direction where the content has nowhere as much quality and heart to it. Now it's mainly rushed games that are fixed with DLC that you need to buy. It's about money, not art or passion anymore, and it makes me sad. I will agree that there are some true dev's out there to this day... But it's getting increasingly rare :/
Stone Ban I think it's a dark age that will end, but I suspect after the resurgence which will be quite grand, there will be another dark age and that one will be permanent.
As melodramatic as it may sound; realising that Final Fantasy was no longer a series I enjoy, really was kinda difficult for me. I grew up with FF7, FF8, FF9 and FFX, but I also really liked all the earlier entries. With FF12 however, it moved into a weird direction, but I still liked the game. Can't say the same about FF13 and basically every FF that came afterwards. Games like Lost Odyssey, Shadow Hearts and Blue Dragon (as flawed as that game may be) made it easier for me to leave Final Fantasy behind.
***** Well it was a 360 exclusive, and since that console sold like hot garbage in Japan it was probably the best way to cut their losses. But yeah, this was a far better FInal Fantasy then that whole XIII trilogy.
tical2399 You mean XI then because XI and XIV shouldve been called FF online and FF online II so XII shouldve been XI. X was the last real FF. If they want to change the formula than they should change the name. FF VII crisis core is a good example. Phantasy Star is better at naming their games properly imo though :P
This game is and forever will be my favorite game. The story was incredible, the game play was magnificent, the characters are well rounded. This game SERIOUSLY needs a sequel of some sort.
How many hours?
probably one of the epic and intense final bosses in the game. The atmosphere, the cutscenes, the characters, the music, the Jensen, the everything
salty nipple fwiend Especially the Jansen.
atmosphere, cutscenes, characters, music, Jansen, JENSEN, yes... but story and gameplay? not really
this boss was pretty dissapointing imo
24:35
Kaim killing all his friends, and gets healed.
gets healed for 666 HP.
Man. He fucked up his wife the hardest.
laughing so hard
Probably one of the best and most satisfying endings I've ever seen upon completing this.
Game deserves a sequel.
+Izurin Doesnt need one.
+Brett Hicks But it deserves one.....I guess I meant more along the lines of how FF had each sequential number and different stories.
Im saying it doesnt need one. Look at my banner, my favorite game of all time is an rpg that people always say "oh it needs a sequel"....

couldn't agree with you more, we don't need lost odyssey's sequel, all we need is the game that is as good as lost odyssey.
Man, I really loved this game. Watching this brings back so many good memories.
they dont do it like this anymore sadly
13:08 Sweet baby Jesus, that timing with the music. *GLORIOUS!*
Thanks for finishing the game! U was doing so much grinding when I got to the boss point that I burned myself out and never finished.
Took me a long time to finish this. When Seth sacrificed herself, I had a few tears dripping. Best game ever.
You not only championed this like boss but you rejuvenated the whole genre. Brought back so many memories. Thank you so much you legend ❣️

Laupepa jr They gave this for backwards, free, and I didn't even know though I was literally praying for it. O lord I feel depressed now.
Uematsu always goes off on his final boss tracks
that music ... gets me every time
this needs to be on steam
Why the hell does this game not have either a sequel or a remaster?
The lore alone is incredible, so damn good that a book was made in Japan
That was one of few last boss fights that I really loved. I don't mean difficulty or everything but it was just done perfectly for me. I really like how all characters support one another here.

John McClane
the only downside is the slow loading before a battle
FearlesS0607 True. It does help however quite a bit if you install every disc to the Xbox harddrive :)

That, and the final boss was a HUGE disappointment.

The Noodle Hunter

The backstory was so good that it got made into a short novel in Japan.
that "momma..." always get me.
Seth leaving her son who finally saw her after so many years still makes me tear up.
When jensen says “block the light” I get chills every time. Awesome character
One of my favorite RPGs, this game is so underrated.
This is the best movie I've never played. I came here cause I learned the villain had the same surname as mine but stayed for the rest of this thing!

@Just Some Guy Without a Mustang Never stated that troll.
@Just Some Guy Without a Mustang Square went the online route and this particular story was expounded upon by Mistwalker and Feelplus.
Ok. Goodbye troll.

The remaster we really want:
damn gongora is truely evil that he manipulated kaim to slash his wife
ngl running around in the ruins and lvling up rly made the gongora fight ez as heck
owww sakaguchi !! i miss you !! plase come back !! ;(
Seth returning to their home world = Dem feels...
omfg I sobbed at the sacrifices everyone was going to make, lost it when Seth ultimately sacrificed herself.
I was doing ok, but after Seth went through with Gongora and then it showed Sed and he said, "Momma..." so sadly I died inside.
This was really amazing to watch this and remember this great game.

God this game was amazing!! I'm going to start playing this again.
Philip Anderson Too bad it has imo THE worst final boss I have ever faced.
Even the awesome battle theme couldnt save it.
"Do what Jansen says!" Love that.
Great game - but the one thing I didn't like, was how 1-dimensional Gongora was. I would've liked to see what brought him to this point - what his 1000 years were.
Fate/Stay Night Fanatic And a fight that wasnt completely mediocre.
He was a cheesy as all heck villain. Meanwhile the main characters were unexpectedly deep.

Esse jogo é incrível
Never finished this game. It kicked my ass. So I guess I'm gonna watch it here. Kudos.
Such a great game and such a likeable bunch of characters and story :3

This game was graphically at least 2-3 years ahead of it's time. Only ffxiii that came out in 2009 could compete.
The Wondertwins Mack and Cooke remind me of Palom and Porom from FFIV
AllyOJustice I think those two were inspired!
Nobuo Uematsu, best composer, AND DON'T YOU DENY IT.
I deny it

One of the few games where you can peg the BBEG right at the start....
24:35 who could of seen that ending coming

About four years too late on that one bud
This game was fantastic! I don't use my 360 anymore but I might plug it in to replay this at some point.

Yes, I definitely considered it a true Final Fantasy.
***** I actually mean XII. That;s where the series went down hill
tical2399 You mean XI then because XI and XIV shouldve been called FF online and FF online II so XII shouldve been XI.
X was the last real FF. If they want to change the formula than they should change the name. FF VII crisis core is a good example. Phantasy Star is better at naming their games properly imo though :P
I disagree. FFXII was a great game. Lost Odyssey was too but FFXII deserves its place.
FUXk this is a Real GAME !!
Is it just me, or does Tolten look a little like Adam Driver?
In the top 3 best rpgs ever made
Why this game not in steam?
