My concerns about interlocking bricks are that ants breed between the stones. This can happen less easily with mortar and plaster. How do you handle this problem?
We have not experienced issues with ants, as long as the bricks are of equal size and stacked on an even service it shouldn’t be a problem. However the way in which this risk is mitigated is by the process of brick pointing where mortar can be used to act as a barrier and then using a brick sealant which will provide an additional form of protection.
No mortar is used in between the courses of bricks. Concrete slurry is poured into the holes in the bricks when they are stacked, which then sets to give the strength. This can be reinforced with iron rods for additional strength.
@@enobricks9969: If it was me, I would be placing vertical reinforcing rods, that were tied into the foundations at 600 mm intervals. Then, horizontal reinforcing rods every 600 mm in height. There are valley bricks that are used for the horizontal reinforcing, and this is filled with cement. The idea is that you have a tubular fence design using concrete within the wall.
Good demo, now I know which one to go for when building. 😅 Thumbs up.
Enobricks finished work looks beautiful
Interlocking is efficient, fast, cost effective, safe, and beautiful 🥰
We want to see the wall pushed
I am From Ghana that is so good😀😀😀😀
Love it!
Simple test. How much force will each wall withstand before it topples over?
There is an experiment done in South Africa and it shows the interlocking is earthquake proof, its also cooler inside.
An earthquake of what magnitude in ritcher scale?@@kenduzouir

In your next episode please try to push the wall down and let's see
In a future episode we will do a rebound hammer test. This is the way in industry you test the strength.
So we don't need any adhesive to fix bricks?

@111jacare Hello, do you build with these bricks?
Well done Eno, very educative.
Can you mold the bricks on my site if the clay content is proven to be good? Or do you have a branch in Volta region?
Yes, we can make the bricks at your site if the soil can be used. Please get in contact to discuss further.
Where are you located in Ghana?
