- Wearing it 'men-style' is what some female tourists do! Including me, when visiting Wadi Rum. Because not only does wearing the traditional Jordanian scarf make for interesting photos, but it's very practical. We spent a few days here, camping, riding camels, hiking, sandboarding, and we even experienced a brief sandstorm (surprisingly painful!) and the keffiyeh head scarf was a wonderful protection from the sun, the wind and the sand.
This was our first visit to Jordan with more visits to come as we are fortunate to have family here.
If at all possible, please visit Wadi Rum and the other beautiful locations around Jordan. It's a beautiful country with delicious food, friendly people and incredible history.
Proud to be half Russian and half southern Jordanian.
