The transcript was at first circulated in the sub community but one titanic explorer said nobody was sure if it was authentic and hence didn’t go public about it.

What we know now is that Stockton was in a rush to get to the bottom, which explains their rapid descent. He likened his sub to an "elevator" to which a single button was needed to take people down to the Titanic. In his rush to get to the bottom quickly, he forgot to bring binoculars, so he didn't see the underwater iceberg that was below him. He failed to see the iceberg until the floodlights he bought from Home Depot illuminated it, in which he yelled out "iceberg right below!" and tried to dump ballast to slow the sub's fall, but it was too late. The sub eventually hit the iceberg which caused the hull to crack. As captain of the sub he ordered women and children into the lifeboats, but seeing there weren't any, the men stayed in the sub and like the rich cats they were, "dressed in their best and prepared to die like gentlemen," while the Brit ordered a brandy. Stockton tried hard to keep the lights on so the passengers could play "Nearer My God To Thee" on their MP3 players. But eventually the hull failed and the water rushed in. The water is just 30 degrees F at that depth and in just two minutes they were all dead. This is the storyline that James Cameron will use in his upcoming docu-drama for the Discovery Channel which will certainly air in 2024, which is why Netflix is increasing their monthly subscription rates.

I think this was an exercise in deduction. While it may not be real, it may be accurate. They used scrap as weights. If it was not the proper weight, they may have descended faster than they can correctly pressurize.

It looks fake to me, if you notice one of the messages is missing the closing bracket, looks typed up rather than copied from a text log.

“Enjoy the ride” and “enjoy the dive” would never be messaged in an authentic transcript. The messages were shortened by using more abbreviated words than actual full texts. Rush showed a sheet on how they use abbreviations on their messages to each other. Total bogus transcripts

I say this is fake, because during the comparison at 12:16 there are way too many formatting differences (lack of colons, all caps and no caps, different names for the speakers).
I am a programmer, formatting messages is my thing, unless they completely changed the log service (which I highly doubt since it worked just fine it seems) there is no reason for those differences to be there.
Although I didn't have time to go into it, the "final text transcript " was most likely re-typed as the formatting from the original text would turn into a jumble when posted to paste-bin. This would explain the variations.
