I did not personally have any of these issues with my rack, Engel 35 cooler, and 2x Rotopax jugs- all fits well and holds up great in the chop, I have owned the rack for over 12 months. I replaced the nylon lock nuts with stainless wing nuts for easier removal. The anodized rails are pretty durable IMO. The Linq is definitely more consumer friendly and easier to swap, no debate there.

So you experience no problems while not using Kawi’s Orca cooler or cargo net. Gotcha. 👍🏻

The cargo net I use extensively, just not the Orca. Orca coolers suck anyway, I’d almost always choose a Yeti or the Engel since they are local to me

To hold a cooler down, I found that the small horizontal plastic bars at the bottom of each plastic side panel work perfectly for cam straps like these NRS 1" Heavy Duty Tie Down Strap. Just loop them through the slots on the flange of the cooler and around those bars and you're good to go.

While we're on the topic, what I REALLY want to point out is that BRP sells the LinQ hardware STANDALONE. You can walk into any dealership and buy both the mounts that bolt down to the machine and the twist-locks that are found on the accessories themselves, which is an incredibly powerful tool for making your own custom gear. I'm working on a fully stainless rack that will use both the ports for the ski pylon and the LinQ mounts, and will hold 4 full-size 25 litre jerry cans or a massive box or cooler. And this isn't limited to the BRP machines either, it would be so easy to make a conversion plate for the Kawasaki Ultra Deck (or for that matter, the Yamaha RecDeck) that bolts onto the rails and has LinQ mounts ready for the FishPro cooler or anything else.
Thing is, mounting systems have been full of screws and straps since people started carrying gear on jet skis, ATVs and any other powersports machines. Hell, Yamaha is STILL using the same steel tube-frame rack design on their ATVs that they’ve had since the 1980s, and it seems like only BRP have thought it worthwhile to move past that finagling with hardware and make something easily usable. And they were considerate enough to make it easy to make our own gear on their system, so why the hell wouldn’t we?

Very good points. Did not know you could readily buy the latch hardware to customize gear. Worth looking into. Thanks.

@@edwardbowles8613 I am hoping more people take notice and start getting creative. I haven’t seen any custom aftermarket LinQ gear online at all. I assume it’s because of running into legal issues with BRP, but it’s still a shame.

Kevin, I gotta agree with you see Doo has got a fantastic link system I’m a Yamaha guy I wish they would have something like that. Definitely enjoyed the video.

Just get some threaded knobs to use instead of the nuts. Easy fix. I have them on my Yamaha RecDec

The Kawasaki hardware problem is easily solved...can't believe how nobody has pointed this out. Think kayak track mount hardware. Agreed...throw the cargo net in the trash bin at the dealership and make certain they see you do it. Even I could solve the poor cooler fit better than Kawasaki.

Question, is the cargo net an insult, an afterthought?

There is a LinQ base installation kit (a couple of them) would one of them fit the Kwacker?

I can't remember how Kawi latched the mid cooler on the old mid 90s TS 650. But they had a latch mount cooler back then! They can't copy Sea Doo directly but it seems it could be better. I liked the idea with the Kawi that you could buy generic stuff to haul in their rack and not have to buy the overpriced (though functional and well designed) dealer stuff from Sea Doo. They have a foundation let's see if they listen to consumers and make improvements. Something Kawi is very slow to do these days. I don't think a loaded cooler will be as easy to flip over as the empty one in your driveway and I know a cooler can be secured with straps on the carry handles. The Sea Doo is hands done quick and easy. The Kawi offers flexibility and with some individual creativity as JD has shown can be very functional. Thanks for posting. Hope Kawi listens.

I tossed the cargo net a long time ago. It was useless. Just use bungies. The rack hardware I traded the nuts for stainless steel wing nuts for easy off and on. They are nowhere in the way to cut your foot and in the summer months everything on your ski gets hot. No matter the brand. The rack does not have a bottom. 🤷‍♂️ Who cares. It holds your cooler, fuel, and gear in place like it should. The rack is also larger than all the others. I had 2 medium coolers and a luch bag in mine and everything was snug and didn't shift around. Plus the 2 Rotex 2.5 gal fuel cans you can add. Also ran it with two 5 gallon fuel cans without a problem and extra space in the rack. The two 5 gallon cans didn't feel like it weighed down the ski as well. Still balanced enough to zip around bends with ease.

Agree the Kawi rack offers a lot of flexibility for various non dealer accessories. Just have to be creative securing them. Thanks.

Dang!! I ride a 310x and love it but this is a fair review. Also the multi mounts on the handle bars are terrible. So bad, that I created my own rail system.

Another great review, Kevin! For my FXHO I built a few PVC racks that work MUCH better than what Kawi put out....and at 1/16 the cost. Good lord - at that price point point I would imagine there wouldn't be many buyers.

Could add some foam or pool noodles to the interior of the Ultra rack to cushion the cooler but yea SeaDoo has always been about convenience and luxury it seems. Kawasaki doesn’t innovate which is fine because again "if it ain’t broke don’t fix it" but still I wish Kawi would at least offer different color options. Like I want an orange 310x but Kawasaki only offers that color on the 160lx-s

It’s even hard to use aftermarket racks with their tie down system. It’s too wide the rack wouldn’t hold two 5 gallon cans tight. It’s everything wrong that every other manufacturer got right and the aftermarket for right too. It takes effort to be this far wrong.

Instead of the plain nuts maybe a nut in some type of thumb screw design. I don’t know the correct word but the nut that’s in plastic that just uses your hand to tighten.
And that net just seems a lot of trouble to keep secure how the buckle attachments are designed. But if you ran the net inside the top rails and could get the bottom strap secured it might hold the cooler better.

As much as I think and like the sea doo set up I can't bring myself to spend the money on any of the over priced coolers I wanted to buy the fishing cooler for my 2022 GTI Se 130 but seeing because I don't own the fish pro I will never use half the features like the live well to even justify the price i would like to see them put out a value cooler in between the small on and the larger fish cooler with two or more rod holders or maybe a place to put their cup holders! Because of this I got a soft cooler that has a shoulder strap that I feed trough the grab handles and over the back seat on the back to hold in but no rod holders if I decide to go fishing it work so well so I have been looking at kayak soft coolers I can do the same with and some even come with rod holders as well on that note I do understand that sea doo is trying to put together the best quality item for the money but I feel I don't need the top of the line cooler for a day out on the water I just want something that works with the link system that doesn't hundreds of dollars maybe 80 to two 200 but over that I have justify the price grab on sea doo s part if they had more options the would sell more don't get me wrong I love my sea doo and can see why they are the leader In the market because the listen to the consumer I mean hell if another ski company had the best useable storage like sea doo I would go with them instead i love my sea doo beside that the above mentioned!

I have to say this will cost Kawasaki sales. Why you would want a Sea-doo with the link system or a Yamaha with the rec deck is beyond me. Looks so bad for Kawasaki

I own a 310lx and am completely disgusted with the whole rear mount/rack deck system! What a piece of garbage. Kawasaki should be embarrassed. Its a nice ride with horrible gas mileage and poorly thought out accessories. major fail!

The rack is not bad with newer knob style hardware. I got some Yak Attack tiedown points for the tracks and strapping a cooler or 2 five gallon cans is easy. Sea Doo has a great system but you have to buy their expensive accessories vs fact I am using my 25 year old gas cans. Pre EPA!
