This is an excellent presentation and a great service by B&H to provide it beyond what was given live for those of us only able to access it via UA-cam. Surprised it hasn't garnered more viewership. For someone who is on the fence regarding next full-frame digital camera purchase, this is incredibly helpful and just the sort of detail that is needed to make an informed decision (yes, even today, recognizing the recent advent of Sony A7r, et cetera). Thanks!
I was not able to find anyplace online or within Sony's literature on the camera that states that the camera is completely silent. If that was a comment made in the video by the Mike Bubolo, (the Sony representative in the video), then I would say it's likely exaggerated. I've not come across any camera that was void of making some sound when firing; rather I think the point is it is extremely quiet when compared to other cameras. - Yossi
RX 100 MKII is a nice camera....But I was disappointed as it does not have any in camera editing feature in play back mode, not even basic cropping function. I am really used to do some basic adjustments in the the play back mode and even raw processing using my nikon DSLR. Forget RAW processing, but is it too much to give cropping function? Please add that in future firmware update. Please respond
If your studio strobes have an infrared optical slave, you may purchase the Interfit Infrared Transmitter for Flash Heads with Infrared Slave Receiver, B&H # INTIR, to trigger the studio strobes wirelessly.
Well, thanks for the suggestion. Can you please guide me to the page of your catalog where I can see this product? Or simply send me the info? I appreciate your kind & fast answer. Hope to hear from you soon. have a great day! ** I must tell you that my flash power box has a 6.3 mm studio sync jack hole.
poncio dupont Unfortunately, we cannot use links in UA-cam responses. However, if you visit our website (you may use Google and search for "B&H Photo Video Pro Audio," we are the first available option), in the white Search bar on the top of our page, you can type " INTIR " into the Search bar and the Interfit Infrared Transmitter for Flash Heads with Infrared Slave Receiver will be the only option available.
Sony is great in cameras, especially video cameras. However he won't thrive in slr cameras because most photographers won't leave their autofocus glasses. Lens are more important than the bodies of cameras because they lose their value much slower. I am sure that with its excellent and affordable E-mount lenses, sony will prevail into the mirroless cameras market.
+Arunava Datta If you are asking about the Playmemories App, unfortunately, there isn’t an option for Windows phones at this time. *Christina* askbh@bandh.com
Sorry I meant " I really doubt Nikon would buy from Canon more than Canon would buy from **SONY**". It's possible that compact lens was by Sony as Canon is not known for supplying third party sensors. Also the lens specs are identical.
It seems the Sony rep may have over stated statistics with regards to Sony manufacturing sensors for other manufacturers. From what we were able to determine, Canon makes their own imaging sensors. It is widely speculated on the web that Nikon purchases many of the sensors they use from Sony but we have no confirmation of this. C h u c k askbh{at}bandh{dot}com
Well there is speculation by dpreview the Canon D20 has the same sensor as the Nikon AW110, and I really doubt Nikon would buy from Canon more than Canon would buy from Nikon. Check out the notes here - dpreview.com/reviews/2013-waterproof-roundup/4
Why is it that virtually none of the Sony reps/speakers never smile... sure he has the content down pat... but his lecture style lacks warmth/friendliness.

I'm sure glad that they are focusing on digital imaging, they have great potential but i wish their products wouldn't be so expensive.
what Canon products have the Sony sensors?

How do you sync this RX100 II to work with infra red unit to fire studio flashes?
I've tried...and tried.
Thanks!

the shutter of my RX1r is not completely silent. Does that suppose to mean anything? Or is the "completely silent" was a little exaggerated?
Please verify that this Sony representative was in error when he said that both Nikon and Canon use Sony sensors.
I thought so also but this presenter said, they are the only manufacuter that makes their own sensors. 03:00 - they say, they are the only one.
Great presentation
They need to bring the touchscreen back with no viewfinder on it.
"These are untouched jpgs."
The oxymoron of the month, Probably great products, though.

Sony, please come out with a cheaper viewfinder for the MII - $400-500 is way to much for a $750 camera.
None do. Canon manufactures their own sensors. - Yossi
