  • Revell's 1/72 P-47M Thunderbolt is a nicely detailed kit, yet very affordable and a fairly easy build which is also suited for a beginning scale modeler.
    In this video there is also a comparison with Revell's mostly similar (except decals, underwing stores and engine crankcase) P-47D-30.
    Note; at 2:24 it is stated that the P-47M had a Curtiss symmetrical prop. While they were initially delivered with the symmetrical prop, they were later replaced with the asymmetrical (paddle bladed) prop, as the one included in the kit

    So that's where it went just got the p47 m kit thought not again done out of a fuel tank the tamiya 1/72 razorback thunderbolt is a drop tank short glad I looked at you're video now know what revell mixed up cheers

    I have a couple of the old boxings. Can`t say i`m very familiar with the -M version, not something you can build from the venerable Tamiya kit?

      Tamiya's 1/72 bubbletop probably depicts an earlier block series. The -M has the later R-2800C series bolted crankcase front as mentioned in the vid, and it also features dive brakes just behind the wheel wells. Plus the fin-fuselage spine extension would be needed.
