    シドニーで古いタイプの潜水艦に乗ったことあるけど、こんなに通路広くなかったし、身長高い人だと頭ぶつけそうなとこ普通にあった。映像からだけだけど現代の潜水艦はすごい

      They are larger and better laid out than the early strategic Subs, they don't seem to be to cheap either the technology is so much better and beyond what the earlier Submarines were capable of, because there's no point in standing still, not taking advantage of the innovation in Maritime Scientific research and it doesn't matter which Country's Submarines you're looking at there's going to be Secrecy around some equipment, there's a British Submarine Documentary and the Guy who goes abroad to stay with the Crew on a short Cruise from one port to the next asks some silly questions about the Submarine and its equipment and the Officer replied "I can't answer that" or my favourite answer "That Information is subject to the Official Secrets Act and therefore Classified"

    Home style service is SO much better than having to train a newbie every patrol on how to put the food where you want it and how much of it you want. (Not only that, but get rid of the chow line setup and you gain quite a few square feet of deck space you can use for other things.
    And while I am at it, I might mention that someone(s) seem to have forgotten how each individual frame of the USS Greenling SSN614 got to be seen from the outside of the hull. (We won't mention analog guages at all)

    I find the most arduous work in this sub is being performed by the cooks. Imagine storing, selecting and cooking three meals a day for a hundred men in this confined space in a long tube! And the men don’t seem very grateful to those true heroes who work their ass off everyday while the others are playing their peace time games.

      QUESTION for Don.
      While up on watch I notice a lot of stuff and railings and wires etc, see 6:53
      When going underwater what happens to all the gear?

      @JustShortOf 5 років тому

      @@AlanMolstad All of that stuff is taken down and put below decks. The bridge is then rigged for dive and all hands go below decks. The railings are for the officer of the deck/CO/lookouts so it is not so cramped in the bridge opening. You also see a portable radar as well as a masted radar along with #2 scope for the contact coordinator below decks and a multi-function mast.
