I'm just shaking my head and laughing over the whole concept of Texas and California actually agreeing on something. Id have an easier time believing a film where they declare war on each other.
I think they already agree that they dont like the federal goverment. Different reasons, but still. If you think about it that way, their hatred for each other was smaller then their hatred for the gouverment.
As the proverb; The enemy of my enemy is my friend @@MadaraUchihamizukage
Lmao, I thought the Same exact thing lol
That part is laughable, but we don't know the plot yet. But the concept that it could happen is pretty scary. Maybe they mean Northern Ca, they would fight against any Socialist or Marxist govt for sure.
During the 2011 Libyan Civil War, you had pro-democracy liberals and arab nationalists (two groups in the Arab world who don't particularly like each other) join forces in ousting Gaddafi's Arab Socialist authoritarian regime but once Gaddafi was overthrown, the liberals (led by the GNA) and Arab nationalists (led by Haftar) in Libya just ended up fighting each other.
In this alternate reality, I'm guessing that the Federal Government is governed by some radically centrist, technocratic regime which suppresses both liberal and conservative opposition, and has implemented policies such as completely outlawing abortions, outlawing LGBTQ relationships and suppressing liberal ideas (such as feminism, racial equality and social justice) which would infurate liberals, while also completely outlawing firearms ownership and clamping down on state rights which would cause conflict with conservatives.
The best part about this movie is that you can be a part of this movie.
the man bun folk trying to figure out how to fight vs ordering a latte is going to be the best part...
The best part of this movie's gotta be the fact that you get to keep watching it even after leaving the cinema

Like all the pre-covid virus movies. Where real life imitates ark. Scarry
Exactly. These are to instill fear in the people to try to get them to believe this would be a horrible thing. Just like the pandemic movies were designed to program you to be a good little subject during the test run covid tyranny trails.
That is why the way states are separated is a little more then unrealistic.
@@jmiyagisanlike Event 201 😂
with the event right now about illegal immigrants in texas, feel make sense..
Good idea to bring this movie out just before the presidential elections
Texas would definitely be the strength of that alliance. 😂
I think the Texas-California alliance is a pretty genius move. Because it shows two states with very opposite political compasses coming together to fight against a president that violated the constitution by being in power longer that he should.
It removes the stupid right vs left topic and instead focuses it into a topic of standing up against tyranny.
Hahahaha you sir are the fucking idiot.... conservatives would never align with the alphabet pedophiles....
Very good point!
Exactly what I’m saying, but now people are calling it “too serious” because a Texas and California alliance is apparently spoof-like material.
This. People are laughing over the inter-state politics rather than looking at the larger scale the scenario is operating on. If a President (or even a Governor) decides to abuse their position, constitutionally or otherwise, it should be down to the federal checks and balances in place to halt them before any major damage is done. Failing that the states would have to take it into their own hands, which is what we'll likely see in the film.
@@pob_42 That's what I'm hoping. Sadly, politics in the US became extremely divisive and opposites where each side sees the other side as evil and their side as a "can't do no wrong" body. What determines if what a politician is doing constitutes a problem is the side that politician belongs to, and that shouldn't be the case.
Freedom, liberties, fairness, justice, decency, honesty, transparency, all of those things should be a given and an expectation in a democracy, and the same high standard should be used for every politician regardless of political party.
That's why I think the alliance between these two states in the movie is so meaningful. It's a "we might not agree in anything except that no tyrant will ever rule my country" situation, and that's how it should be in reality.
Hearing a soldier say “what kind of American are you” is scary af

The sad thing about this is that it is a very good possibility considering how the country has shown so much division.
Only if you knew? That Biden didn't receive a 21 gun salute at all, 20+misfire in a Cemetery 🪦, Trump did not concede, so if this did happen,
it would be under Trump and the Military Period, and this was part of the plane, but it's like China was supposably to invade U.S though, but they didn't take away our guns so that's not going to happen, and if this happens our guns would be taken away for sure first, so it's just weird before you think there's a chance, you first have to think of, Americans with guns, so I don't believe this is going to happen.
this is very appropriate for 2024

@santosd6065 there is wisdom found in fictional writing. Hence most religious texts and ancient myths
@@scienz Maybe so, but not in EVERY piece of fictional writing. Plenty of empires toppled by their enemies never rose again (who the hell remembers the Akkadians?)... and empires like the empire of the Czars can be toppled by revolution and emerge even stronger imperial powers.

The souls of native americans, the true americans, and the africans dragged to harvest cotton, demand retribution.
the fact that texas and cali teamed up lets you know that this is indeed suppose to be a spoof but somehow turned into a serious flim
The movie had Texas and California team up with each other so that there would be no clear indication of which political party would be the “bad guys”. After all, they probably don’t want to enrage half of the U.S. because that would be bad for business. Use your head.
If two ideologically-opposing sides join forces, it shows the necessity of strength in unity. Take a look at Three Kingdoms period in China, States of Wu and Wei, despite their hatred of one another, joined forces to defeat Guan Yu.
It's not that far-fetched, even if we see it as unlikely.
Depends on what they're teaming up against. In the military you learn to live and die with folks you'd never break bread with but because of a common enemy you learn to live/fight together. The way I see this film is you have the two largest states in America who differ on most everything except the fact that new President is a tyrant. Think about that. Both these states probably own the most firearms in America as well just based on population (Kalifornia) and gun laws (Texas). Seems legit that they'd eventually work together for a common cause.

Regarding the whole California, Texas thing People don’t seem to get the fact that if say the director / writers chose states that lean one way or the other, these’d be villainizing, one side, red or blue. This is an exercise and critical thinking… California and Texas would make sense.
Not to mention that California could have been infiltrated and taken over either forcefully or politically in order for them to become alliances with Texas (not saying this is exactly what is planned, but it could be an idea).
You got a point. in the real world.... not a chance but to make it palatable have to make a union.
I mean I get it, but the problem is that it literally doesn't make sense. In the goal to offend nobody, they are offending everybody lol
Idk, applying logic to any of it is absurd. But that is DEFINITELY one of the most absurd points that it poses.
That said, the action and dialogue surrounding the civil war would be interesting.
But lets be real, TX and FL are allies and they would dominate CA in a civil war. Like, within a few days tops.
We're jumping to conclusions before the movie is even out. Something has to have precluded California and Texas teaming up. And clearly the end of the Trailer shows the President being dragged out from under his desk in the oval office, that and D.C. in the midst of war as the streets are filled with small arms fire and explosives.

So many people saying Texas and Cali would never make an alliance pact with eachother, have not studied history very much. They might hate eachother, but they hate the federal government even more.
