Blind luck! I've been there myself - when I was younger I could treat my thick, (originally) mahogany-brown hair atrociously, constantly bleaching and perming and colouring it, yet it stayed shiny, silky-soft, strong and healthy throughout - it drove my friends crazy! I later lost more than a third of my hair to a sudden and unrelated form of alopecia, and the mix of different textures that eventually grew back in (which is a whole other story in itself!) needs treating with kid gloves - but whenever I look back at how abusive I was to my locks, I honestly can't believe I got away with it for so long...!
My brain was just screaming to rinse! I get super scared when I have bleach in, I’m not sure I’ve ever had it on more than an hour 😣 That girls mum has the patience of a saint

@@BBB-to4cc I've put far too much bleach on this year at home my hair is almost to my hips now but with using rice water and grapeseed oil inbetween its saved it and still so soft xx
Ditto........but I always get a good cut. With a good cut you are home free for day to day management. In the 59’s, my mother only bought boar bristles brushes. Seventy years later and I still use them. Still have a full head of hair that is health, soft and retains it’s colour.
I’ve been getting a foil weave for decades and I recently started using epres on my hair. It’s a bonding treatment and my hair is strong and shines now.
When you "bleach" your hair. Follow the instructions, don't adlib. That is why I still have hair after 20+ years of doing hair "bleach" and temp hair color. I have dark hair, Native American. I would get to banana peel pale yellow. Then I used the purple hair shampoo for white/silver hair to cancel the yellow. Then I would give the hair conditioning and recover time before using any color. Even then I made sure to prepare the hair before coloring, use creme color (I learned that creme is better than chemical, if it smells like turpentine, it isn't good for your hair), and that I had conditioner to seal the hair and protect the color. The temperary color would last, with proper care up to 4 months. Yes, I let my roots grow out to about 2-3 inches before I used color remover. The colors I used didn't turn ugly, they'd turn a lighter shade or fade to something I didn't mind. If it faded to "mud" I would not use that color again. I went with reds (faded to sunset colors, ending with a very nice looking ginger), yellows (the one I used fluoresced yellow well into the time it was too faded to see the color, I had to grow this one all the way out, the color remover couldn't remove the florescent left behind). I have never ended up with "green" hair (I actually did use green color once, faded to teal blue). My thing is you get more than enough to do the job then double it. You can always save any unused (save boxes that haven't been opened, don't save the stuff made) for touch ups. Sorry, I would laugh at some of these bleach fails. I shouldn't, but I cannot say enough FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, don't adlib. You will kill your hair. Quick note. I used a 40% peroxide "lightener." It smelled like lemon and salt. I only used a 60% once, I wasn't happy with the color and it burned my hair a little bit. I washed as soon as the color looked right, didn't leave in for full time in instructions. Took a week before my hair recovered and lots of conditioner and deactivation creme for the 60%. Ends were darker than near scalp (nearly white). I wasn't going to fuss, it was my mistake. Went back to 40% and banana peel yellow being the stop point for the lightening effect.
I thought blonde looked so much better on her than brown. Made her eyes pop, and she just had a sparkle in her eyes and teeth and was glowing. This was at the balayage stage before it got full head.
This definitely helped me understand why , when I was dying my own hair, during the pandemic with blonde box dye, there was no damage. But then, when I got bleach, it damaged my hair. For me, a natural level 8 blonde, it seems blonde box dye is enough, to get the color, that I want and the damage from bleach isn’t worth it for me. Blonde box dye gets me platinum in 20 minutes, each time.
I love the part where Hair Buddha yells out "You're lucky it's still attached to your head!!!" Best part of the video! That being said, how do these numbskulls mistake hair dye for bleach? You do the same thing with real bleach and the hair will definitely come off with the foil!
I think they exaggerated when they said they left it on 6 hours or the box dye wasn’t very strong. It would have been so much breakage. Love your videos Buddha. Your reaction on this one had me cracking up.. 😂 thank you I needed a good laugh I had a rough day. :)
I feel like she put the conditioner in the mixture because when I have used boxed bleach my hair will turn that super pale yellow/white within the 30-45 min time frame. I only get the yellow yellow when I do a bleach bath.
I've read that after a certain period of time the lifting ingredients in box dye stop working. I don't know how much truth to that or if that box dye contained any amount of bleach. I'm a box dye user and I deal with never getting it to the desired shade.
Confession...In the 90s I had dyed my hair black with a purple tint. I then had it bleached 4 wks later. It turned Pepto-Bismol pink. And I worked at a hair salon and just said sure go ahead. Keep in mind I was a raver and it was 1995!🥸🤣
That sounds better than the Bird's custard powder colour mine went when trying to get it really blonde from auburn box dyed (I can't remember if I'd redyed it twice or 3 times when I decided I wanted to go back blonde). I did eventually get it back to very light blonde, but I had to go out that night with Bird's custard powder coloured hair lol. I'd have taken the pink over that weird colour lol. I imagine your hair looked pretty cool, although maybe you had a few less clients for a while (unless they wanted funky colours too).
Her hair is not that extremely dark tbh. If she had proper bleach on for so long, her hair would’ve literally died. I’ve had my black hair dip dyed before & the hairdresser told me my hair was so dark it barely lifted much after bleaching twice. It was light brown after the first round and yellow/light yellow second time.
Same with me, but my hair was hecking orange the first round and then a light brown after the second bleaching. It took me about four or five bleachings to get to platinum blonde 😬

She’s SO beautiful! Her natural colour was perfect
The time I went to my stylist, he left me 2 hours with the bleach on my hair. I thought it was normal, but watching this video I realize that it is not😲
😱
same!! it fried my hair off and i cried as soon as they finished
Ya, ive been told bleach deactivates after a certain time...
@@magdalenamajkowska4750 not technically a lie, but the amount of time it takes bleach to dry out is way way way longer than the amount of time it takes to fry your hair off
He must have gone to the same school as my hairdresser
Her mom reeeally humored her through this nonsense. Should’ve staged an intervention 😂
We both made eye contact when she said she’s gonna be applying bleach 😭😭🤣🤣 same energy
😂
I was just shouting "rinse it off" when you started shouting it. I love your honesty 😂😂😂
Her hair looks like the first time I tried to bleach my mannequin in class 😂
You need to give your mum super props for hanging in there for you!
I would love if you reacted to hair dresser's fails. You are aweome Hair Budda.
Box dye is not bleach!
I'm searching to react on that
@@hair-buddha I love how you get tense 🙉😂
How does her hair look so healthy after all of that mess?!?.
Product, straightening and editing probably... it still looked really clumpy tho
Thank the heavens she didn’t understand what she was putting on her head. If she’d used aaaactual bleach, that video would’ve ended with a pixie cut.
My brain was just screaming to rinse! I get super scared when I have bleach in, I’m not sure I’ve ever had it on more than an hour 😣
That girls mum has the patience of a saint
“It just looks really....cheap.” 😂😂😂 saving box dye mishaps one TikTok at a time
She would look amazing with brunette and some red with those blue eyes!
Blahahahahahahhaha!!!! He said, “looks more ugly” LMAO!!!!!!! That was priceless!! 😂😂👌👌
she's not bald, so she must have had really amazing hairs when she started 😅
Love watching hair Buddha everyday !
Six hours?!?!? How didn’t it fall off?
Because it stops working after an hour 😂😂😂
@hannah H, Yes, box dye is not like bleach, it stops
It stopped working 🤣
OMG HE GOT ME OVER HERE DYING LAUGHING 🤣🤣 love her eyes
A hair buddha video is better than coffee in the morning 💙
we are cutting it close lol
☕️
So is tea 😂
This makes me so happy that I have an amazing hairdresser. I love her so much.
9:17 forget flipping someone the bird or shaking your fist, imma gonna use this for the new insult gesture.
I’m crying here…. “How. Long is she sitting there while her mom is out driving all around town? Rinse it off!” Lol lol
When she had the cling wrap on her head at 16:7 I almost went into cardiac arrest thinking she shaved her head.
🙈 from hairdresser of 28 years , I finally put my foot down a few years ago to colour corrections!!
I don’t care how much I can charge 💰 I can’t stand that people destroy their own hair and then expect miracles in one process, like they’re going to be catwalk ready 🤦🏻♀️
Nope 👎🏼
My favourite is when people bleach their hair and then say “I’ll just strip it back to my natural colour “, 🤣🤣🤣 honey you stripped that away with the bleach 💥
Agreed.
I remember in Uni my roommate bleached her hair and then used a colour remover to go back to her natural colour 😂😂😂😂 that’s very much NOT how it works
I’m a hairdresser Aswel. I refuse colour corrections now.
People never want to pay for it, and you can never tell them how it’s going to turn out , also people want a bloody miracle.
I am no longer going to correct your mistakes!!!
That is why i go to a Salon, so the folk who know what they are doing and have been trained to put my gold highlights in to give my har a warm glow and a lift, not turn me into the blonde i am not!!
@@louisegodden5217 the few times I screwed up my hair, I was just grateful they let me go without a hat. I don't expect a miracle but I will pay for you to make it livable. people need to understand how it works. you screwed it up, if you walk away from hair dresser with hair and no hat needed, say thanks and fork over the money
Hair Buddha looking so suave and debonair! Lucky wife! 🙂
WOW thx
Yes! Please make a video about professional salons messing up. If you could, please list some red flags for customers to keep a look out for when choosing a salon. Take care luv. 🤗💐 I really enjoy your video and appreciate your hair care tips.
Ok but how did she still manage to make it look cute I-
“It’s awful”
“YEA IT IS”
Lmao
As a guy, it looks absolutely fine, because if I was out and saw a girl like this, I would not even notice that this is supposed to be bad.
"It looks more ugly". 🤣 That comment burned more than the bleach.
I literally do nothing to my hair (no heat ever applied, dye it like once a year) and here still looks healthier than mine after 6 hours of dye sitting on it lmao
Have a look at grape seed oil or fermented rice water with lemon that's what I do
@@sarahemilymonk8877 hmmm I’ve been reading about rice water, I’ll look into that thanks! ☺️
I just looked at her channel and she's still the same color blond.
oh really? I would do lowlights and make it less blond
Could mama not google where in the hell there is “hair dye” in stores nearby??? Lol, GD come on people!!!! DDDDDRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
🤣
All together now; “BOX DYE IS NO BLEACH!” 😅
I need my own at home hair Buddha to stop me from these disasters I create on my head😭💘
@@Rileyisabus
Hair twins and name twins lol ^_^
🙈
I was really amazed she still had hair left... When I saw the" balayage" I knew it was gonna be a mess.... Lol Your the best !!
I was at a hairdresser and when she didn't come to rinse my hair, I went to the sink and began doing it myself. Thinking helps.
Smart
Hahaha, "you're lucky it's still attached to your head!" Haha, hilarious. 😂🤣😅❤
I'm a box dye user and I deal with never getting it to the desired shade.
all i could focus on was how absolutely beautiful this girl is. she is gorgeous and doesnt need makeup or to dye her hair.
@ thankfully I was just the receptionist. I unfortunately was in charge of cleaning the tanning beds too.🤢
19:30 “it looks more ugly”
Hahahahaha 😂🤣😂🤣😂
This is where I would steal your comment from a previous video…
“You don’t deserve to have hair.”
🙈
Same with me, but my hair was hecking orange the first round and then a light brown after the second bleaching. It took me about four or five bleachings to get to platinum blonde 😬
Yes !!! Start adding comments on the best and worst hair salons so customers know who to go to for help with their hair fails. This will also support hairdressers who know their stuff and become recognized !!!
You should put Nise and Easy light Ash Blonde on top it will tone it and look natural.
Box dye = dye lol
Also, the fact that this started as “balayage” is hilarious
YES! Please do series about worst reviewed hair salons. Before, process in the salon, after. It would be cool :)
Would this not be done due to liability?
I so love it when he says Tic Toc
If I do this to my fine hair I will end up with no hair...
