I gotta say that in these BLs where one partner wants monogamy and the other is open to other situations, I tend to agree with the "player". Monogamy is a concept that religious leaders forced upon the people, mostly to keep people from having children with so many of the women that Inter breeding happened causing birth defects that kept the population low. Churches, as well as governments, need as many citizens as possible for taxing, tithing, farming, armies, etc. And the whole mystique of " soul mates" and "one true love for life" are ways of keeping people monogamous. Love has never and will never be a one person deal. You love your family, your friends, your first crush, the first person you slept with, your children, and so on. Love grows by sharing it, and it shrivels and dies buried within one heart only
