I've combined my vintage and older Christmas decor with a few new additions that I added this season to get a designer look on a budget. Even though my son is approaching 60!!! .... we decorate with ornaments from his childhood...some of them homemade!! I live with him and my lovely daughter-in-law and it brings back so many memories each year...Your tree is gorgeous!!! Love that you use decor you already have!! We do the same - just move them to other areas in our home!!!❤😊

I also love traditional Christmas colors as well.. sometimes I will use a burgundy shade of red instead of bright red I saw the large poinsettia’s clip on’s at hobby lobby today, they had a deep mauve color, and a cream color , and silver and gold as well.. exactly like yours nice and large This year I decided to do a woodland tree, I also bought a smaller tree, now that we are retired , and our new home doesn’t have a lot of storage for Christmas decor , it was time… but I am excited for decorating the new tree..

Good morning. I keep all my Christmas decor forever. I have been collecting decorations for over 50 years. I have a few different themes so each year I decide what theme I am going with. I have the old fashioned glass ornaments from the 60's and 70's, I have a country theme, a wildlife theme and a traditional theme with red, silver, olive green and brown glass bulbs. I also have a 7.5 ft flocked tree and a 7.5 ft tree with 2000 mini lights that is not flocked plus several alpine trees in various sizes. I love each year deciding what theme to go with and how I am going to arrange the decorations. Merry Christmas..❤️🎄
Hi Lesa!! The tree is beautiful and the tree skirt was the finishing touch!! I have saved and reused Christmas decor too! I don’t by all new every year, just little things to add to what I already have. Ive pared down quite a lot and donated to thrift shops. I don’t always use the same things every year either. I put out the nativity, some gingerbread pieces with the cocoa bar (that’s always fun)!, and I like the winter look with greenery and deer figures, maybe with a snowman or two. If I can keep it somewhat simple, then I don’t have so much to put away after the holiday. 😊

Hi Lesa! Your tree is very pretty! I usually put up 3 trees. My flocked tree is usually red, white and gold with a little green mixed in. I collect snowman ornaments so I have a slim tree with those ornaments. My husband loves multi colored lights so that one is what I put our sentimental ornaments on that we’ve collected for 45 years. It has a few from our childhood that I’ve saved, our kids and grandkids Babies first Christmas’. 😃

Hey Lesa! I love your traditional tree, it's SO beautiful! I grew up with a traditional looking tree and found when I had my own home I wanted to steer away and have an aesthetically pleasing tree.... I am now finding my way back to the traditional look despite the colour clash around my home haha! Ribbon is a pain the toosh for me haha! I will say a windy downfall has always been a fav for me. Hey Lesa this was so good! This is coming from someone who has never used traditional colors for Christmas! I used to decorate with a color or 2 and added gold or silver (occasionally white) to my tree each year. I’ve always added picks and different textures but I never have liked red for my home and until a couple years ago I thought greens were one of the worst colors… lol. Well I’ve been doing mixed metals and neutrals the past few years but last year started adding burgundy berries to my greenery in my vases. And about 3 years ago I went from hating on green except in greenery of course to now green is pretty much my favorite color.., lol. I don’t want to go on about the 4 trees I’m planning on doing this month but I will tell you briefly about 2. Forgive me if I shared this with you once before. I’m doing a burgundy and gold tree and a separate copper, bronze and 3-4 different shades of green tree… lol. I’m getting very adventurous with 3 types of ribbons in my green one and then most adventurous I’ve ever been with the burgundy one. I’m planning on doing the ornament clusters around the tree and using the tall taper candles. The inspiration trees I love the best don’t use any other colors, but I started from scratch with burgundy ornaments and I’ve got tons of gold. Hopefully it’ll still accomplish something I’ll be proud of. Oh yeah I started from scratch with all the greens too! It’s been a very expensive Christmas season and yes I have tons of stuff that yes I do store and keep each year. I definitely need to keep watching you and find more people like you on UA-cam that use what they have and just add a little. I spent years of my life very sick and in chronic pain so I didn’t really ever watch UA-cam til 2019 and I’ve spent so much money (prob due to depression from chronic pain) on home decor since I’ve found home decor creators on here and I’ve accumulated so much. I’ve spoken to you a couple weeks ago, not sure if you remember but I have the 21 yo son and almost 18 yo daughter in just a few short days. Anyways all that to say I may trying and add my burgundy and greens together next year.. lol! It is just beautiful!
Hi Trina! Yes, I absolutely remember you but am always happy for the reminder. I am so sorry that you have suffered chronic pain for so long. That is a very hard journey to be on. I will be praying over you. Don't you just love how your style and taste evolves over time? It is like a kaleidoscope when you look back and reflect on it. All the beautiful things coming together. I can see the same for me over all my years. That is why I say buy what you love and not what is a trend because now, all those things I loved through the years come together and work. Just like you have planned. Everything sounds fabulous and I know you will be able to make it come together just like your vision. Don't forget that craft paint and spray paint can be your best friend as well! You can transform some of your decor that way to fit with your new ideas this season and will save so much money. Because yes, that retail "therapy" gets expensive. I went through that when my dad was very sick and I spent the better part of almost three years living with him. I was lonely, isolated, and depressed. I lost a lot of weight from all the stress so I would sit in his hospital room, watch influencers and order clothes. I have since gained back weight to my normal healthy size and hardly any of it fits. 🫣 We live and learn and try to do better each new day. Thank you for sharing all your Christmas decorating plans. I change my trees every year,I have done a police tree,a Barbie tree,a animals tree,Victorian tree and a traditional tree and a teal color tree, but as I'm getting older my ornaments are going to my kids and the Barbie ornaments are in my granddaughter's bedroom.

I’m doing a burgundy and gold tree and a separate copper, bronze and 3-4 different shades of green tree… lol. I’m getting very adventurous with 3 types of ribbons in my green one and then most adventurous I’ve ever been with the burgundy one. I’m planning on doing the ornament clusters around the tree and using the tall taper candles. The inspiration trees I love the best don’t use any other colors, but I started from scratch with burgundy ornaments and I’ve got tons of gold. Hopefully it’ll still accomplish something I’ll be proud of. Oh yeah I started from scratch with all the greens too! It’s been a very expensive Christmas season and yes I have tons of stuff that yes I do store and keep each year. I definitely need to keep watching you and find more people like you on UA-cam that use what they have and just add a little. I spent years of my life very sick and in chronic pain so I didn’t really ever watch UA-cam til 2019 and I’ve spent so much money (prob due to depression from chronic pain) on home decor since I’ve found home decor creators on here and I’ve accumulated so much. I’ve spoken to you a couple weeks ago, not sure if you remember but I have the 21 yo son and almost 18 yo daughter in just a few short days. Anyways all that to say I may trying and add my burgundy and greens together next year.. lol! It is just beautiful!
Hi Trina! Yes, I absolutely remember you but am always happy for the reminder. I am so sorry that you have suffered chronic pain for so long. That is a very hard journey to be on. I will be praying over you. Don't you just love how your style and taste evolves over time? It is like a kaleidoscope when you look back and reflect on it. All the beautiful things coming together. I can see the same for me over all my years. That is why I say buy what you love and not what is a trend because now, all those things I loved through the years come together and work. Just like you have planned. Everything sounds fabulous and I know you will be able to make it come together just like your vision. Don't forget that craft paint and spray paint can be your best friend as well! You can transform some of your decor that way to fit with your new ideas this season and will save so much money. Because yes, that retail "therapy" gets expensive. I went through that when my dad was very sick and I spent the better part of almost three years living with him. I was lonely, isolated, and depressed. I lost a lot of weight from all the stress so I would sit in his hospital room, watch influencers and order clothes. I have since gained back weight to my normal healthy size and hardly any of it fits. 🫣 We live and learn and try to do better each new day. Thank you for sharing all your Christmas decorating plans. I change my trees every year,I have done a police tree,a Barbie tree,a animals tree,Victorian tree and a traditional tree and a teal color tree, but as I'm getting older my ornaments are going to my kids and the Barbie ornaments are in my granddaughter's bedroom.

I put a few things on the perimeter but not fully decorated. Mine is in a corner between 2 windows… 😊
@7951Aries That's a great question! I style the whole tree mostly because my trees are visible from just about every angle.
