Thank you! Good luck on your journey as well. Wow, 3:30 would be very impressive and well inside boston qualifying. I'm looking for that sub 3 in 2025. All the best.
A marathon is three race in one. The first is a 13 mile race running. The second race is 7 miles but this time you're carry a 25 pound backpack. The third part of the race is the last 6 miles but another 25 pound backpack is added for a total of 50 pounds extra weight to run with. The analogy is just telling you why only 1% of the population ever attempted to run a marathon.
That's a shame. You clearly have the fitness with a 1:21 HM, but it looks like you didn't have the execution. The full marathon is more than just about being fit. You need to be able to put the whole thing together. The taper, the carb load, nutrition, hydration, course familiarity, mindset, pacing, timing, etc. You can't just use brute force like you can with shorter races. Good luck in the future! I'm positive you'll get it.
@@amelbjelosevic3850good suggestion. I've thought about that too. I might run it. I'm a little worried it will take to much out of me before the full 4 or 5 weeks later.
Good luck! I'm trying to go from 3:54 in 2014 at age 49 to

It's so true. You have to put everything together. It's almost like a different sport.
I think you can break 3 hours next time 👍
Appreciate it!
Maybe try around the bay as your tuneup. Its 4 weeks out and 30k. Might give you a more realistic picture of your fitness.
