Red might be my favourite battle in the entire series. It’s crazy battling the protagonist from the previous game and I don’t know why they haven’t done it since. In BW they had you battle every gym leader in the franchise to celebrate 5 gens. Maybe for gen 10 every gym leader would be a bit too daunting a task to model so maybe have every protag from previous games?
All of the character models already exist thanks to Pokemon Masters EX, but it still probably won't happen. This isn't because its too daunting, no, Pokemon is the #1 grossing media franchise in the history of media. They COULD finance any project they'd like. Considering current trends, it won't happen because Game Freak is too concerned with merchandise sales and other nonsense to think about putting even a morsel too much effort into their video games. The Pokemon games only comprise a small percentage of the total revenue raked in by Pokemon as a brand. With this fact in mind, Game Freak deliberately chooses to do the bare minimum, bc they know that 1). no matter what, it will sell, and 2). if for some reason it doesn't, it doesn't matter too much for their bottom line. Sadly unless someone restores passion to that studio we won't see any extra effort put in to see something as cool as the PWT again...
I didn't think the old version could be improved, I expected it to be destroyed with the new sounds. I was wrong, this has raised it to a new level of greatness!
Just beat the Elite 4. I teared up when this song started playing... this song, by far, was the most memorable for me in Pokemon Gold. I'm happy with this remix. By far the best battle theme in Pokemon History.
Heart Gold brought me back to Pokemon again. I have not been such die-hard in over 10 years, since the original G/S. Thank you, Gamefreak. Thank you so very much for bringing out the old Poke'mon Master in me! :D

Ain't no body care about Lance I'm sorry but Lance isn't a real rival he congratulates you and already knew you would be a great trainer and jsut feels more like a friend wyen fighting team rocket. I guess it's kinda cool he wanted to become champion but still...
I kinda feel sad that G/S/C is the only generation I haven't played the original game from, (started from Ruby, found an old copy of Blue that I'm only at the first gym in) but I still can't wait to get my copy of Heart Gold! Both the original and remixed versions of this song are really awesome, and sound perfect as the "final showdown" with Lance/Red, and it's gonna be even better battling them.
@ThreeLegends13 In Japan the games were Red and Green, Blue was a minor revision of Red/Green. The Japanese Blue is the US Red & Blue. They didn't just change the names. In Japan the rival is Green, he is Blue in the US. FireRed & LeafGreen are remakes of the very first games from 1996. Just a bit more info.

In the United States, it was from the "Pikachu Coloured Pichu" event. It's not the Celebi though, as you're to take that Pichu to the Ilex Shrine as your partner and the Spiky Eared Pichu will appear and join your group.
this is 1 of the 5 best themes in my opinion! there is the dialga battle from pokemon mystery dungeon, then the platinum frontier brain theme, then the team rocket theme (u no what i mean),then the rival battle in hgss and this!

Well the original version of this song is in the game as well if that is what you prefer. If you use the "GB Player" item then you'll get all of the beep and boops that were in the original games.
What do you mean "A lot of it is missing"? Some very slight sounds are not quite here at 0:42, but that's a minor thing that was unable to be output when ripped. I'd hardly call that "A lot."
So pumped for Pokemon X and Y. I wanted Y to begin with but I preordered X the more I looked at Xerneas the more I fell in love with its looks and its a Fairy Type. I am really anxious to see the power of the Fairy Type. #Sylvion :D

@UltimateEspeonX I never meant to pit them against one another. But if you admit Pikachu would lost to Raichu, how is Pikachu more useful than Raichu? It's hard to sweep if you're already dead. Any Pokemon faster than Pikachu will most like OHKO it, even if it doesn't use a move with a type Pikachu is weak against. And there are plenty of Pokemon faster than Pikachu.

The calmness of the first few seconds is downright chilling.
This is the best champion theme, and best remix of this theme. It will never be beat. (I hope we revisit Johto and I get proven wrong)

@MissFastSpeed Some advice, get your Typhlosion some non-fire type moves. Having all (or mostly all) of one type of move is not the best idea.
Lance doesn't deserve that battle music. Too epic for a trainer who isn't Red.
