Thanks for the honest revue. I've been looking at getting an outdoor boiler. I like the idea of Gassifacation boilers but am unsure of the learning curve. I agree with you that company and dealer service are important. It must be great to actually talk to the company owner and/or a knowledgable rep.

Welcome, thank you! I was a little concerned about gasification but the manual adjustment for the air made me a little more comfortable with the polar. I wasn’t overly concerned because we have always burned inside so that obviously requires dry wood so it wasn’t a large change for us, but most say outdoor boilers eat wood but this boiler has done excellent. It was refreshing dealing with heatsmart( the main headquarters for portage main/ polar) in this day in age their personal interaction was refreshing.

Great review, I’m actually looking at polar once my portage and main optimizer 250 takes a crap. Brian is a great guy, I talked to him about my portage and main and he’s very nice and tries to help. What model do you have?

Thank you. We have the g3, g2 might have been enough but I like to be sure!

@@alfrescoacresfarm I bought a G3 as well, because I wanted to "be sure". I bought mine two years ago for a cabin we're building, but haven't even hooked it up yet. New subscriber.... Thanks for the nice video.

What’s your opinion of the HeatMaster (of comparable model)?

When we were looking around I joined a few groups it was kinda crazy the info you could see on Facebook and how quickly several of the same guys would comment bashing anything other then heatmaster or crown royal. I didn’t like the design and issue I repeatedly saw people having on the groups from those two brands. There’s a neat comparison a fella in Canada did a month or two ago putting a heatmaster against a portage and main ( the “conventional” stove of the polar company) its title is PortageandMainBoilers versus Heatmaster : An Observational Case Study 2023 | Part 1 of 3 or it was posted to polar portage and main Facebook group. Prof is in the puddling. Let me know if you can’t find it!
