@kaneninjutsu I want them to do two things. 1: Adapt Udon's Street Fighter vs. Darkstalkers comic into a video game so they get some new eyes on this series and Darkstalkers can get some Street Fighter $$$. Then add Amingo and Son Son into the series from Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 as official Darkstalkers. Maybe Ruby Heart too, but she's the sister of the dude from the arcade Higemaru so that might be weird.

@ThePokefreak98 According to Matt McMuscles, the reason we haven't gotten an actually new Darkstalkers game since Darkstalkers 3 is that Capcom does random, "is this series popular" checks by releasing compilations that offer nothing new but collect the games in the series. The last time they did this for Darkstalkers, the game didn't sell to their expectations. This was after releasing two previous collections that were identical to it, and people just didn't buy it. Sad that Capcom has basically abandoned this franchise. It is my favorite fighting game because of its story world and lore. They could do so much with it.

I remember in 2000, being 16 and playing Marvel vs Capcom at 7-11 every weekend coming home from a McDonald's shift, wondering who the hell these weird characters were. I just got the street fighter table top arcade and was pleasantly surprised to find Darkstalkers, hence why I clicked on this video. What a gem this game is, all the better that I get to explore it for the first time after all these years.
Oh how i wish they would bring this series back using current tech. I mean they revived RE2 and rumors say RE3 is coming with the same engine but here we have this gem still in the dark.
20:00 there is a PS2 Japanese only Vampire Collection that has all the arcade versions of the DarkStalkers series, a Hyper version(able to choose any version of the character, also versions of characters in games they weren't in e.g. a DS1 Lilith), and an updated version(it may be the Hyper version) with and alternate Donovan called Dee.
Please cover the other two Darkstalkers games! I really appreciate these videos. I think you're probably already planning on covering SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos, but if not, I think that'd make for an extremely interesting video. Especially, if you cover its secrets to midbosses, bosses, endings, and the three types of transformations that can happen to the characters. Thanks for all you do. :)
Okay... but Sasquatch is the most adorable Bigfoot I’ve ever seen. We always think of Bigfoot as this hairy bulking giant. But what if he’s just a little cute creature with MASSIVE feet?
It would be fantastic if you can cover the other darkstalkers games. Especially, with the Capcom Fighting Collection out. This is my first time playing these games. Really enjoy your content. Keep up the fantastic work.
I first got to know about Dark Stalkers thanks to the many cameo appearances of Succubus (Morrigan and Lilith) and the Cat Girl (Felicia) characters. Cross Edge on the PS3 was one of those games that I was able to know about these characters.
Other Capcom-related fighting games are okay, but Street Fighter will always be the number one Capcom fighting game series that started the fighting game genre.
Even so, it isn't the END-ALL, BE-ALL of fighting games. Much better fighting games came out afterwards and have proven to be much more interesting than Street Fighter.
The only thing wrong with some characters like Demitri is their defeat stance....always face down, it's weird. At least in the King of Fighters series characters have different falling animations
I absolutely love your breakdown of dark stalkers however I wish this video show the sequels and the ports and the DLC versions PSP version Resurrection however I still enjoyed watching thank you for making this video for the dark stalker fans
So wonderful you covering this series! Can't wait for the next one! I played the ps version back then. Played several characters, got kind of frustrated. Until I picked the werewolf. Then I straight up combo'd every opponent. So fast and brutal it made me dizzy. So for beginners, pick that character and learn the moves and try to combo everything.
Love Darkstalkers! Not sure if someone else mentioned this or not but Felicia is more than just a cat woman. She's actually based on a magic shape changer of Japanese mythology
Darkstalkers is still one of my favorite games to this day. i loved the anime as well, i wish they would physically re release it for the PS4 and the Switch
Many people these days think of the Saturn era as a blip. However, I lived through it, and I loved it (alongside other eras). I loved fighting games, particularly Capcom ones, and I was in my glory with Night Warriors, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, X-Men VS Street Fighter...even Puzzle Fighter. And then, there was Virtua Fighter 2 and more. Those idiots who were ONLY into 3D games and didn't appreciate 2D did a huge disservice to gaming. In that era, and even pretty much until recently, with cell-shaded Guilty Gear Xrd and Dragon Ball FighterZ (taking over for hand-drawn sprites), and realistic Mortal Kombat 11 (taking over for digitized characters), 2D sprites always looked better than 3D-rendered characters for traditional fighting games (although I must say that I enjoyed Rival Schools and Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha a lot, too!). The main point is that 2D will always be great for its own particular uses in traditional-type games, and it never has to be replaced. And the Saturn had a lot of great 2D stuff in addition to 3D games (which the PlayStation often excelled at a bit more).
Would love to see the subsequent entries in the Darkstalkers seriers covered, as well as Toshinden since it has largely been forgotten outside of its diehard cult following.
I got the arcade roms to all three games and play them from time to time.It was a very unique idea for it's time.I would a game like skull girls was inspired by this.
It's hard to imagine but Toshinden really looked like the future of 3D fighters. _Virtua Fighter_ was overly complicated and _Tekken 1-2_ did not play well at all but then came the third game and cemented how a 3D fighter should play. Heck, Toshinden couldn't even claim to master weapon fighting with '99 Soul Calibur. Early 3D games really were the modern equivalent of figuring out how to land on the moon.
I for one enjoyed THE FUCK out of Soul Blade (aka Soul Edge) on the PlayStation back in the day, with the PlayStation port of Tekken 2 at a close second.
Yes I’d like videos on the other Darkstalker games in the series. Well done! I’ve owned the psp and Xbox day 360 is a compilations as well as night warriors and vampire savior (Darkstalkers 3) on the Sega Saturn.
“Pales in comparison to Toshinden”?! That’s an absolute joke even back then, and all the more hilarious now that Toshinden is all but forgotten.
I remember someone saying that Tohshinden was the future, everything would be different from that day one. No way. Actually, the only two 3D fighting games I witnessed strive were Soul Edge/Calibur and Tekken.
People who had a PlayStation back then likely knew what Battle Arena Toshinden was, so I don't see what's the problem with that.

Every Darkstalkers Entry PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
One of the main inspirations for this game was the looney tunes!
The only thing wrong with some characters like Demitri is their defeat stance....always face down, it's weird. At least in the King of Fighters series characters have different falling animations
I loved seeing that intro scene! I hadn’t seen that in years!!! Brings back memories.
I absolutely love your breakdown of dark stalkers however I wish this video show the sequels and the ports and the DLC versions PSP version Resurrection however I still enjoyed watching thank you for making this video for the dark stalker fans
I have made one on the second game too if you want to check it out :)
Morrigan won't be included in Smash, because the game is for good boys and girls.
Love Darkstalkers! Not sure if someone else mentioned this or not but Felicia is more than just a cat woman. She's actually based on a magic shape changer of Japanese mythology
I thought she was based off a poem about a cat lady from Transylvania.
@@heynae2016 there have been a few biographies of Felicia over the years, they're all definitely worth watching
They should make all of the Darkstalkers part of the Street Fighter cast.
Darkstalkers is one of my favorite fighting games ever! Can't wait for the video on Vampire Savior. Undeniably the best one in the series!!
I hope that Capcom puts out a complete Darkstalkers collection on current platforms, namely Switch for me.
(Felicia for life, btw!)
I swear, it's fucking bad when we haven't received a Sequal since 1997. Almost 30 years now.
Did you get the collection 😃 I love it! 💪🏾
Darkstalkers is still one of my favorite games to this day. i loved the anime as well, i wish they would physically re release it for the PS4 and the Switch
Top you are the man! Shout out from California bro. I would love for you to cover the last blade series! That is all.
I wouldn't say the Victor is a perticularly german sounding name
More Darkstalkers please! Can't wait until you get to the third game and my main monster, Jedah!
Finally someone talks about this series. Thank you. Of course I want to know more about Darkstalker-series
14:31 That design which looks like a very buff Starfire cosplaying Batman really got me lol
Please make more of this content???? I LOVE Darkstalkers!
MORE DARKSTALKERS PLEASE AND TALK MORE ABOUT FELICIA SHE BAE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would love to see the subsequent entries in the Darkstalkers seriers covered, as well as Toshinden since it has largely been forgotten outside of its diehard cult following.
Awesome and educational video. There were good chunk of things I didn't know about the franchise.
How about the history of Capcom vs SNK 2?
I love your content man. Very informative and entertaining. I'd love to see a part 2.
I really love your style on these videos mate. Well done Sir!
Please make more dark stalkers content! Love it!
Love this series, thgm. Keep up the great work.
In some instances Sasquach is a Bigfoot whose race is Yeti according to his bio and Game Fan magazine.
You could make an entire vid on just Morrigan's appearances. Wait a minute...
i loved these games as a kid! they were great!
I got the arcade roms to all three games and play them from time to time.It was a very unique idea for it's time.I would a game like skull girls was inspired by this.
I love these videos, I would definitely like to know about the sequel
Brilliant video! Please cover the rest of the series in future uploads!
Ah best Darkstalkers and Street Fighter Alpha series old menories late 90s capcom fighting games history ever!
Darkstalkers is mid 90's and also most of SF Alpha games so Pay fucking attention
Time for a Darkstalkers revival!
Been waiting for this one.
Never realized until today that Hsien-Ko wasn't in the original Darkstalkers.
Yes, cover more DarkStalkers.
How about Vampire Savior/ Darkstalkers 3? I know I’m jumping the gun but it’s one of my favorites.
Yeah.
I look forward to these fighting game overspectives every Thursday!!!
Yes I’d like videos on the other Darkstalker games in the series. Well done! I’ve owned the psp and Xbox day 360 is a compilations as well as night warriors and vampire savior (Darkstalkers 3) on the Sega Saturn.
Now the real question is one piece ' brook based off of Lord raptor?
3:10 Morrigan looks so badass here
Awesome video dude! i love this game..btw..cool for u in Romania
First time I played Darkstalkers was on the arcade in 94. Wow...... man the memories
