I'll never understand people shittalking this movie, this is not a story about the moon landing, it's a movie about the person who went there and how incredibly brave, tough and, let's be honest, a bit insane you have to be to undertake such a journey.
Honestly it’s quite surprising how calm they sound in the communications with the mission control. I don’t think i would feel so well knowing the vacuum of space is only a few inches away
I only had enough for 1 movie ticket at the time so I decided to watch Bohemian Rhapsody with the thought of watching first man the next day, I went back and it was gone!
This movie may be the Masterpiece of the 21th century, it’s too perfect, the shots, the zooms, the rockets sounds, the emotions it triggers, the absolute perfection of the chosen cast, and of course, this music. This is Motion Picture at his pinnacle. Don’t let this movie style die 🙏
It’s also epic for where its silences are. Modern movies would have music plastered over some of the scenes, but in this one there are moments you can just enjoy the silence. It’s deeply touching.
This movie was outstanding. I grew up outside of Edwards AFB in the 70s not far from Niel’s cabin in Juniper Hills. The soundtrack is amazing as well. When I was a boy my father brought me in to meet with David Scott the first man to drive the rover on the moon (Apollo 15). Dad said I had dozens of questions in mind but completely froze up when in front of Dr. Scott. These men were hero’s in the truest sense of the word and I like how the movie brings out so much of their sacrifice. They succeeded against impossible odds.
How incredible you are so lucky to have met one of these heroes of mankind! It is at this point so underestimated the achievement and sacrifice of these men and families! Truly remarkable.
robbelliii i really appreciate the things that you have said here...so was it true that US landed first on moon in 1969 ? Or was it as the conspiracy theorists say...not true?
I would erase this soundtrack from my memory in order to have opportunity to listen to it the first time again!.. That’s a masterpiece!.. God Bless You Justin!!!
That’s exactly that happened to me today. I didn’t remember at all that I already watched this before until I hear that lovely melody. When I came here looking the soundtrack I realized that I searched that before but my mind removed it completely. When I heard the melody again I get a nostalgia that I didn’t remember before.
The first time I saw this movie during the final crater scene, where he trows the bracelet, I though about my father who left us at age of 46. I had just turned to 24 and now that I am 40 still have his watch. It doesn't work anymore but I can't rid of it. Since he left, I can't cry in front of anyone. That's why I think this movie was inspired by the deep pain of the human being. Difficult to explay, premature pain. This pain never leave you. It's like a boulder. One can only cry in the dark..on the moon or in a dark cinema hall..
Yeah I feel you, the movie shows how human can still stay strong in the most difficult and painful times. It's so inspirational.Keep going and never give up :)
The most amazing scene in this film is the Gemini 8 scene where Niel gets onto the capsule of a spacecraft for the first time to launch. The way they portray the primitive spacecraft is nerve tingling because you feel you are Niel and you are about to shoot up into space. The spacecraft itself is essentially a tin can that does not fill you with confidence but that is precisely what makes it remarkable. That entire mission was something that the future of humanity was depending on a tin can of hand made sheet metal and a computer as powerful as a calculator.
Damn right. Especially the part where the capsule starts spinning... It gave goosebumps and I almost shouted YESS!! in the theatre on the top of my voice
I love the delicacy of the theme played on the harp. It's so gentle and melancholy, nothing like the kind of score one usually finds on a movie about space.

The movie was beyond amazing! After watching, the movie became one of my favorite movies along with Interstellar. Something about humanity finally being able to successfully land on the moon after everything the first few astronauts went through and what Neil Armstrong had to go through felt super emotional. It literally had me in tears. That’s when I knew, that in a weird way this was not only one of the most important parts of history. But one of the most amazing things ever accomplished and it’s all thanks to Neil Armstrong and NASA.
Shame on the Oscars! This was an Amazing film with a breathtakingly beautiful score. The film was so underrated but celebrated the life of one of the greatest men who walked the Earth 🌍 and The moon. A great great American hero, a very great achievement of humanity. A great film in my opinion at the very least.
I believe that history will judge this film to be one of the all time greats. And that includes the music score. Let us not be disappointed now but be comforted that beyond our time this masterpiece will be truly remembered
"He came in the other morning, he did. He comes running up and says, 'Daddy, if you go to the Moon are you going to be lonely out there... so far away from the Earth... all of us back here at home?'"
"We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too." - John Fitzgerald Kennedy, September 12 1962
The First Man score has so many Interstellar vibes, man. Its the type of song that is highly repetitive, but you don't get sick of it because it's so calming
The only thing that sucks about this is that its too short. I don't know why but this is just mesmerizing and I feel like I could listen to it for hours while I daydream.
You couldn't of put such a beautiful musical together with the pain that he lost when his daughter passed away! Leaving her little beaded bracelet, on the moon!
I'm just a guy in my late 50s crying to this music who was lucky enough to watch the Apollo Moon landings & to understand the reasons why it happen dating back to the 1930s.
Visiting it on the silver screen was truly a mesmerising experience: from the first X-4 flight mishap, through the armrest-clenching Gemini docking, and finally, the moon-landing where the screen itself zoomed out from a 2,40 to an IMAX ratio... You could hear a fly's wings flapping in the silence thereafter.
Many people are pissed that the movie didn't show the astronauts planting the flag. So many wanted to boycott the movie because of that. I find that completely stupid.
What a great underestimated film, and a fitting tribute to all those NASA people,Neil Armstrong a very quiet man, chosen as he had no ego,a mission patch without their names as there were too many involved, and an an olive branch for they came in peace. The greatest achievement man has ever done, I knew it then at the time as a 10 year old.
First Man still remains a very underrated masterpiece... ever since it came out in theaters. I loved this movie ahh som much. I still can't believe it didn't win best picture, best director, best score, and among other awards... it doesn't take away from the fact that this film is a masterpiece.
I feel like I've been put to rest by an angel. This definitely touches my soul and opened my eyes to the beauty of emotions, music, and the Universe itself.
Boston Globe; A journey to the moon, by a master of the theremin, By Matthew Guerrieri, July 3, 2019-This July is, of course, the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, the first time human beings landed on the moon. No small number of cultural artifacts piggybacked onto Apollo 11. But one bit of culture was, exceptionally, quite literally on board. Late in the evening of July 22, 1969, as the command module Columbia ferried the three astronauts back to earth, the audio link between the craft and Mission Control suddenly warbled with “Radar Blues,” from a 1947 album called “Music Out of the Moon,” composed by Harry Revel, conducted by Les Baxter, and featuring, as soloist, Dr. Samuel J. Hoffman on the theremin, that early electronic instrument with a haunting, otherworldly wail. The Apollo 11 crew had requested songs to bring along on the voyage, dubbed onto cassette tapes by Mickey Kapp, a record producer friendly with many astronauts. Michael Collins was partial to Jonathan King’s moody, folk-rock “Everyone’s Gone to the Moon.” Buzz Aldrin preferred the likes of Glen Campbell and Barbra Streisand. “Music Out of the Moon” was Neil Armstrong's request - “an old favorite of mine,” he commented to Mission Control. The album’s lush easy-listening atmosphere, foreshadowing Baxter’s later career as an impresario of exotica music, was at odds with the others’ contemporary tastes. Charlie Duke, back on Earth, remarked wryly that “it sounded a little scratchy.” Michael Collins concurred: “It sounds a little scratchy to us, too,” he said, “but the czar likes it.” Hoffman’s journey to the moon was something of a random walk. A licensed and practicing podiatrist, he enjoyed moonlighting on the violin, leading small bands in New York City. Sometime in the 1930s, he acquired a theremin - either through acquaintance with Leon Theremin, the instrument’s inventor, or (according to one report) as settlement of an outstanding debt - and incorporated it into his performances. After moving to California, his musical activities waned, but he dutifully transferred his union membership to the Los Angeles local. In 1945, composer Miklos Rózsa, needing a theremin player for his score to Alfred Hitchcock’s “Spellbound,” called the only one listed on the union rolls: Hoffman. Hoffman and his theremin went on to make numerous appearances on Golden Age Hollywood soundtracks - the alcoholic haze of “The Lost Weekend,” the extraterrestrial frisson of “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” the Angel of Death in “The Ten Commandments.” “Music Out of the Moon” sold well enough that Hoffman made two more albums with Revel and Baxter. He worked steadily through the ’50s, becoming (as have so many thereminists) a sort of unofficial ambassador for the instrument. As the theremin drifted into cliché and counterculture, Hoffman followed: Among his final credits were the B-movie “Billy the Kid versus Dracula” and Captain Beefheart’s debut album. He died in 1967, missing out on his music’s unlikely lunar voyage.

Doctor: you have 1 minute to live.

A wonderful and very amazing thing and you feel in the world of magic, imagination and beauty
Thank you Justin
This is hands down the most amazing score I've heard since Zimmers Dunkirk stuff came out. Love it and listen to it every day!!
listen to interstellar ost .
Whiplash
La La Land
Man, those two masterpieces brought the genius of Damien Chazelle into this unique masterful film.
I believe that history will judge this film to be one of the all time greats. And that includes the music score. Let us not be disappointed now but be comforted that beyond our time this masterpiece will be truly remembered
How the hell this movie score wasn't nominated??? Are the judges def or something? this is an absolute masterpiece.
It was nominated to best soundtrack and it won a golden globe. Also an oscar to visual efects.
This music breaks my heart and then heals it, again and again. Vicious circle.
Amazing OST...Goosebump inspiring. Truely moves the emotion of the story along. Such a great film it's underrated at.
This has become one of my top 5 fav movies of all time
"He came in the other morning, he did. He comes running up and says, 'Daddy, if you go to the Moon are you going to be lonely out there... so far away from the Earth... all of us back here at home?'"
"We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too."
- John Fitzgerald Kennedy, September 12 1962
The First Man score has so many Interstellar vibes, man. Its the type of song that is highly repetitive, but you don't get sick of it because it's so calming
"The eagle has wings" Brilliant movie
what a fabulous performance by gosling ..hats off really
Best score of the year
every minute of this song has a different energy level
This movie surprised me a lot. It's so melancholic. Beautiful movie and great soundtrack
The only thing that sucks about this is that its too short. I don't know why but this is just mesmerizing and I feel like I could listen to it for hours while I daydream.
This song is capable of make me remember a lost loved one and make me imagine an epic landing on the moon AT THE SAME TIME.
It's funny how the song sounds very fantasy inspired, yet it went perfectly with a movie about the first man on the moon.
Because landing on the moon is some shit out of Fasntasy
You couldn't of put such a beautiful musical together with the pain that he lost when his daughter passed away! Leaving her little beaded bracelet, on the moon!
Why am I crying after listening to this? Im just a guy in my 30s.
I'm a 30 year old lady and I'm crying with you ಥ‿ಥ
Life is short
coz u have a soul, something to be proud of nowadays
It doesnt get any better when you turn 40:-))))
I'm just a guy in my late 50s crying to this music who was lucky enough to watch the Apollo Moon landings & to understand the reasons why it happen dating back to the 1930s.
Perseverance can overcome all. Beautiful example of this human condition we all understand and feel. Beautiful!
I listen to this non-stop while working
I can't stop listening to this music, so freaking beautiful.
Same for like two days now
This is just pure awesome. Thank you so much for making it so right.
Hats-off dude.
How the **** did this not win the Oscar? Majestic and mesmerizing; ten times more impressive than any other soundtrack from that year.
This theme relaxes and reflects the things of the past
Visiting it on the silver screen was truly a mesmerising experience: from the first X-4 flight mishap, through the armrest-clenching Gemini docking, and finally, the moon-landing where the screen itself zoomed out from a 2,40 to an IMAX ratio... You could hear a fly's wings flapping in the silence thereafter.
Glad it got an oscar...it was deserving of more nominations...but got recognized...yeah!!!!
Thanks a lot for this compilation. Peaceful & relaxing music
This music really gets inside your head.
Marvellous.
The gap from the "Armstrong Cabin" to "The Landing", there is just something there that I love.
This film inspires me so much respect...
Best Movie for 2018, but yes not everybody will accept this,as this movie demands a Apollo lover audience
Many people are pissed that the movie didn't show the astronauts planting the flag. So many wanted to boycott the movie because of that.
I find that completely stupid.
@@elephant35e People actually didn't get the essence of this movie, which is something deep, far from a Space mission
My favorite Damien Chazelle film. I know many people adore Whiplash and La La Land but I actually think he matured as a filmmaker with this film.
They're all fantastic!
Hurwitz have such a huge love for trombone. He always make it work so good in the climax of the song. And I live for it.
First Man still remains a very underrated masterpiece... ever since it came out in theaters. I loved this movie ahh som much. I still can't believe it didn't win best picture, best director, best score, and among other awards... it doesn't take away from the fact that this film is a masterpiece.
I cried and was very upset it didnt even get nominated for score the film so beautiful in every way
Man this track make me travel to the moon each time I listen to it
I feel like I've been put to rest by an angel. This definitely touches my soul and opened my eyes to the beauty of emotions, music, and the Universe itself.
The Landing track is absolutely amazing!
Soundtrack is on an interstellar level for the sheer gravity of emotions I feel when listening to this
Boston Globe; A journey to the moon, by a master of the theremin, By Matthew Guerrieri, July 3, 2019-This July is, of course, the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, the first time human beings landed on the moon. He died in 1967, missing out on his music’s unlikely lunar voyage.
how the hell didn't that get an oscar nomination?
It has an oscar nomination, for best production design...
Should be in the "Best Picture" category instead of a certain comic book movie and I'll leave it at that.
@@fiowarrior21 i mean the score
The movie deserved so much praise
F the absence of the F scene
@@demikou8583 yes, I understand hoy right. Even for best movie
Unbelievable.. at least this ost just won a Golden Globe
