A bravo! bravo! Bravo, performance by Mr. Herbie Hancock! And what a story he can spin on the spot on a talk show live 1987…… is mind blowing to me personally!
Oh but it does....Late Night TV - TV period - is not the right setting for Herbie. You can see he wasn't having a good time and couldn't really relax and get into a vibe....hence the long sigh and the comment about "hard work" when he sat down for the chat portion. Plus, the piano was a bit out of tune and I know he was struggling...it's pretty obvious. Interesting trio w/Abraham Laboriel and Vinnie....Oh well, it's like that sometimes. Anytime I see a master such as Herbie struggle it makes me feel like I'm not alone...and I mean it in the sense of how adverse situations can sometimes affect our mindset and the music that we create.
@@FedericoGPena my comment was only about creativity, improvisation, harmonies that suggest different paths for an apparently simple theme... by the applause I think the objective has been achieved... the musicality of Herbie Hancock surpasses any piano out of tune or not, bringing surprising results...he is what can be called one of a kind...thanks for your comment...
@@luizroberto7777 I get your comment and you're right: in terms of Herbie's genius surpassing a piano somewhat out of tune, etc. I part ways with you as far the applause piece....but it's whatever. Herbie is without a doubt "one of a kind"; one of the greatest improvisers the world has ever seen. Btw, I wrote a tome and deleted it inadvertently....all the same....you probably didn't want to hear all of that anyway!! I'm happy to expand on my applause take, but we are essentially in full agreement.
Herbie, Abe and Vinnie

Phenomenal Musician 🤩
Maravilha!!!
If I was abe I would’ve climbed up one of those ladders the lighting guys left there
Just out man. One bad cat.
Vinnie Colaiuta...!!?
Wow! Who's on bass and drums?
I can NEVER listen to Dianne Reeves version once. It’s like a bag of chips❕
若い頃は笑っていないと顔が怖い
That version of it sounds stupid.
