    The only thing I have to say is for a beginner not bad..on the end of your paint strokes of painting try not to flip the spraygun tip out keep it parallel to the surface of the car an slightly pull away from surface!! Good job

    Just a tip tell him to bend his knees more rather than his back, not that its going to change his painting but if starting a career in painting and gets used to bend his back all the time he will pay for it in later life. Call it a healthy tip ... hes young a fit now ... another great video. I just love em ... best on youtube in my opinion, you always leave nothing to chance and very explanatory narration.

    G'day Gunny.
    He'll go a long way I reckon, looks like he enjoys it and gets a lot of satisfaction out of a job well done.
    Speaking of satisfaction, you can tell you're having a ball showing him all the tricks and tips
    Good on you mate

    that is sort of like using intercoat clear on your panel your blending into so you dont get the sanding scratches mottle. just a base clear that fills the scratches so you dont see them when you blend over them.

    Presume that's solvent base paint there Gunny . Touch wood I've never really had any blending issues with silvers using water bourne paints ,just drop coat with a drop 💧 of the dedicated system blender mixed in with the colour and spray .Your a good teacher Gunny

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  6 років тому

      Yep, solvent but it's funny because I scrolled down reading other comments and 3 down was someone saying how he's using PPG Envirobase and it's terrible, he said he had a prick of a day because it's humid, poor coverage, mottle etc.

    With the exception of a few union jobs there is a lacking of apprenticeships in America. You seem to be a real good teacher and put out the right amount of information then let the apprentice go at it with his own hand. Good job.

    Hi Gunny, Can you help please . Iam starting a touch up bumper biz here in Brisbane. Iam wanting to buy 2 mini guns....for the touch ups. Should i bu,y 2 Graco Finex mini s, m ( HVLP ) one for base and one for clear, or buy 2 Ani R 150 s. I dont think the ANI s are HVLP s? They are both the same prices from Spray guns Direct... Thanks for you suggestions...Keep up the good work

    How would you go about sorting out stone chips that have gone through to bare metal before a respray? flat them out and primer to build up again, or use filler? Short vid would help heaps

    Can you spray gunmetal grey metallic in parts? Like doors,hood, bed, cab, fenders separate? I’m limited to space and it is my Dodge Ram. Or is it recommended to spray it all at once like candy?

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  5 років тому +1

      You definitely can spray parts off the car, I've actually sprayed a candy colour with panels off, it can be done but if you're not careful you may see a colour difference. Gun settings, application thickness, pressure and even spraying temperature can slightly change the colour so keep that in mind.

    Hi Gunny
    I was wondering if a 2K clear could also be used as a basecoat-blender?
    I asked my paint supplier as I was searching for a similar 1k blender but he said that a basecoat-blender could only be used with waterbased paints, a paintsystem witch he doesn't supply... So I'm afraid that I need to find an alternative for the conventional paintsystems. What do you think?
