I owned a 1983 Cutlass 350 .30over 355, Holley 650 double pumper, with a 373 gear ! It wasn't the fastest, but it Shuffled like no other !! Soon as I seen The Cutlass on the thumbnail, I clicked on Y'all, watched 2mins and Subbed ya up!! 🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸
@@GasHouseGarage It's flippen crazy that my son's 14 Subaru Legacy, with a 2.5i 4banger, with only a couple bolt ons. Has more H.P. Than a 80s Z28 ! His Subaru has right at 200hp. Compared to a 80s 305V8 which had I think 185hp ! Now they have alot more torque. But just straight up H.P. a freaking 4cyl Subaru has more !! Crazy !!
Seats are Jeggs PN: 555-70241 GS1. We had to make some simple bracketry to fit them in the car. They feel good! We haven’t driven the car with them yet but they seem to be well made
Heintz brothers up in Troutman NC put the engine together, and Gibbons Motorsports in Mooresville NC did the dyno. Everything else we’ve done ourselves
If you dont mind me asking what caused the engine to take a yr? In the machine shop?. Im very weary of using machine shop nearby since i can get full balanced rotating assembly and blocks but they are standard bore stroke builds etc. im wanting to send my old sbc off to a shop to build a 355 but friends of mine have waited a month just to get bored 30 over 😐.
The first go-around at the machine shop we had the engine refurbished. After they refreshed the engine we discovered cracked heads, so we had to take it back with different heads. That’s what took so long for the most part
bro just wait if you need your car purchase some stock 350 you can’t rush work like it’s always you kinds of customers that want shit done in a day but then when shit goes south you blame the guy that did it when in reality you didn’t give him enough time to do his job if you expect a machine shop to be done in less than a week then expect to have to spend more money when shit goes wrong
@seanutrera3613 no I hear ya just saying I do most the work myself and buy blocks that are good to go. Just I get tired of hearing machine shops doing people like this. A lot of them don't even do the work properly I am a mechanical engineer and mechanical as well as machinist but can't afford my own equipment I only farm my work out to very specific people who have the time in a machine shop. Have had other work done there besides the 350. Most of the time I can get a block back from clean up and boring after a week. Have been weary of using other local shops because of friends engines being stuck in limbo for over 6 months. I drive 45 mins to go to my shop takes at most a week for any machine work however I do assembly on my own so that's different if they are doing it for sure it makes sense for it to take longer.
@seanutrera3613 usually all they do is bore it and clean I do everything else myself due to the iffy shops around here as well as labor cost. Only thing is head work I usually farm out to a shop. That's why I kept my STD. Bore this time found a block that was low mileage 2300$ total cost. I could have done a 5.3 for cheaper but I like the SBC too
What do you think it will run in the 1/8th mile?
6.8 - 7.0 @ 96-98mph.

Its crazy how far we’ve come with engine technology

What motor mounts did yall use? I’m about to drop a Sbc 350 in an 87 cutty. Plan on using the stock 200r4 trans. Can’t wait to see the next video!
Look up UMI 90059. Note that it doesn’t bolt up to the stock location
Keep it coming! Cant wait to see a burnout.
What seats are those and are they comfy? Did they fit right over factory studs or did you have to do some fab work?
