I don't know why, but I realised that the power rangers footage has actually aged pretty well for everything from 90's america considering everything from friends has yellowed horrifically due to the old video formatting problems
Digital doesn't have that problem. All the Power Rangers footage was digitized well before it began to show any aging.
Maybe in the future we could clean the digital footage up to get near blu ray quality.
@@tennessee.tiger1988 I really hope so.. Most Old Movies were saved with the Blu Ray format.. I see it with shows like "Martin" that it looks yellowing and outdated..

I like how the bear zord just casually walks when summoned and also I just noticed that they have other animal zords but not new tanger outfits?
Saban didn’t wanna ruin the brand recognition of MMPR by using any other suits other than the Zyuranger suits, but with all the plot acrobatics to get around footage restrictions, and Power Rangers costing more and more to produce, they just decided to bite it and use the Kakuranger and eventually Ohranger suits.

The ironic thing is that as a kid, I always thought it was dumb that they kept getting new zords and power sources, but their suits stayed the same. The plot acrobatics were not necessary: they should've just changed the suits and said, "oh hey, new power source means new suits AND zords!"
That said, what DID make me finally lose interest in the series as a kid was when they finally abandoned continuity and decided "screw it, let's do a whole new everything with Lost Galaxy!" They should've kept as many of the In Space rangers as they could and brought them over. Starting with an entirely new team that had (at the time) no ties to anything from the past turned me off completely. Yes, I know, that means no team-up episodes. I'd be fine with that.

I like how the pr versions of Sentai footage have better color
It's not necessarily better. It's just stylized. Whether or not you want punchy, saturated colors or more subtle, each has its own effect. I would argue that Rangers being already so colorful, a more neutral color grading is preferred.

I love both Sentai and Power Rangers, but generally prefer the Sentai. This is a great example of this. For example, KakuRanger was great at combining a serious storyline with fun, lighthearted humor. Sentai is good at knowing when to be serious and when to lighten the mood for levity. And of course Kakuranger wins on Tsuruhime alone, she's my favorite Sentai character ever. And in this footage, Ninjaman's battle is a little less one-sided, making it more interesting. And he gets out of the weird dimension by using a Three Stooges type attack on Bakuki/Vampirus.

"Super Sentai" for eternity. "Power Rangers" starts with a good idea, but the execution is too bad. "France Five" is a perfect exemple to follow.

For clarifications for this comparison this isn't really Ninjor's first appearance. He has a much later appearance in a much earlier episode in MMPR Season 3. This is however his first fight.
For Ninjaman this was his official appearance in Kakuranger.
I know the majority of what you saw from this episode was kind of confusing if you're a first time MMPR fan. Yeah this was one of the many problems facing the MMPR S3 same thing with S2 during it's time was not having their own stock footage of the Rangers in the co-piloting the Zords. Fights that didn't have any Rangers piloting the Zords made it very confusing and its not until a bit later in S3 when they get the Shogun Zords is when Saban finally started to film them in co-piloting.

They did a mostly good job of editing the footage for Power Rangers, but it looked stupid how Ninjor was suddenly on the floor for no reason. They should have fixed that.

Was Saban that limited on how long the episode could be? They could've kept all the fighting in, instead of slicing and dicing footage. Never really noticed how from 6:00 - 6:20 how much that doesn't make sense in MMPR. He's standing, than next you see him on the ground
My guess is because sentai is a bit more violent with the fighting scenes.
They should have made that Vampis appear (6:16) and fire a lazer beam at Ninjor which resulted in this 6:07
Standards and practices are much different here in America than they were in '90s Japan when it came to children's television. MMPR and Super Sentai are kid shows It's what you can get away with You have to be careful. Also they could be editing for time.

YungReg88 I think coming from the previous two seasons of animal zords, they probably wanted to keep that trend. Toy sales and all. I remember as a kid I was way more interested in the Ninjazords than the shogunzords. Not so much now.
Honestly with mighty morphin it was a bit all over the place. As seen they kept the characters and suits from the first season and just been using zords and villains from other sentai shows that were happening
@@YungReg88 There were six rangers by end of season 2, whereas there would only be five shogun zords. By using the later footage from Kakuranger, they are using episodes where they already have Kakure Daishogun and Tsubasamaru, thus enough for six zords, and then stall until they can create a story reason for the lack of a pink Shogun zord.
