I gave it a quick spins being it a Beta version.. I never had any issues regarding speed. I do think it would look a lot nice and cleaning with smaller drop boarder shadows or even better no drop boarder shadows. Just nit-picking as I am bored of that trend. Also I have always had issues running VPNs on Deepin and version 23 is no different.

It is not recommended for VM, most people complaining about issues with Deepin run it on the VM which is discouraged by the Deepin core team. Just try it on a junk machine instead of a VM
@@SanjayWale no. Coz that's still not native. That is just a simulation. Just install on hardware and you will not have any problems, at least for me my Bluetooth, wifi, dual monitors, and flashdrive worked automatically. Just plug and play.
If you or someone else decides to try it on a VM make a disk that's at least 64 gigs. (If you make a disk that's smaller than 20 gigs deepin tells you it needs 20 gigs, but if you make a 20-63 gig one it tells you it actually needs 64 gigs)

I tried Deepin before... It was nice until the web browser loaded everything in Chinese! I also tried Zorin - more hype there too... Linux Zero just works on the consumer side for me and Pop OS does everything else - for FREE!

No doubt it is even prettier than Windows 11. But i found some minor bugs and overall performance are kind of slow compared to KDE. However this is a nice OS might attract Linux new comer.
Deepin is very good but indeed China-centric, which makes sense given its origins. I have no concerns with security myself and have used it but prefer Cinnamon. I suspect much of the drama is coming out of the US establishment. The same US establishment who recently caused Russian devs to be shut out of the Linux kernel. Their attacks on open source is the real concern as Linux is supposed to be for everyone globally.

After they decided to destroy Deepin 15 desktop, I can't see any pleasure using this distro anymore. It's nothing special now - I liked the simplicity of the previous desktop. Now is just like a candy - for kids.

i could never use it for more than 20 days it's beautiful and polished but unstable and buggy , i even tried ubuntu DDE and the same happens its not really stable , there's also cutefish desktop which is great , but again the project is not dead but there are no updates , i currently use feren OS , but i want gnome , i think gnome is the most beautiful most elegant out of them all

Even if they are not collecting data for Chinese government, those chinese texts alone are a let off for me, for simple reason that I can not understand them and I do not want to use the chinese softwares. Garuda Gnome edition is often overlooked because of how the Garuda team has marketed their distro. And for debian based Distro, if you are new to Linux then go for Mint and if you have used linux before then go for pop os.

Lol nothing about the UI looks like it's polished or there's much attention to detail, rather looks like a badly done copycat of Apple's design language. Inconsistent spacings & sizing, insufficient color contrasts to name a few
I installed Deepin over the Weekend on my work machine and I have to say that it is awesome. It makes doing every day's work easy and very convenient.
The guy who made Deepin DE is one of the main developers for Arch Linux too.
I trust Deepin over sevetal years and its been more than 3 years since I started to used it.

I use Deepin for more than 10 months and had no issue. Great version. I also use Linux mint on l’older computers both are great choices.

It may be good but sadly, Deepin mostly allows old softwares.
Looks really nice, the only bad thing is that it lacks smooth animations to have a better experience.

I tried deepin a couple years ago, the kernal/libraries all seem outdated. I tried Manjoro Deepin and the interface was all broken.
