I sat the wife down for a talk before we started buillding our house about that same topic. We had our stresspoints during the build but keeping in mind that the build is causing the stress - not the relationship - really helped. Twenty years later, the home was sold at a really nice profit, we have moved to our retirement paradise and the marriage is still going strong! Recognizing a risk is the first step to avoiding it.
My wife and I did that several times. The last one was a 211 acre rundown farm with two rundown houses. We had to build an apartment to live in while we renovated everything else. We were in our 60s and now we are in our 70s and we have slowed down a lot.
Great progress guys, especially if you are not feeling it, you got number11 completed. One hard working family. You will all look back one day with immense pride, and will have forgotten the hard days. You all are amazing
My Husband and I totally gutted our house and add an addition that was as big as the first house. It was a challenge but we made it through and celebrated 52 years of marriage. Communication and listening are important. We too had our disagreements, but it was a win, win for all. You all are doing a great job!
WANT A JOB? lol. I'm a 66yr old disabled wild child of the 60's in Yavapai County wanting to build a small Adobe house. It was exciting to see where ya'll are at now...... I'm binge watching from your day one currently at the maintenance week videos. This Jimmie applauds ALL of you! Your amazing 👏
If you live close maybe you could hire one or two of their children to work for a few hours each week and help you with the things that are hard for you to do alone.
We all understand how hard it is to work when feeling under the weather. I've been down almost 2 weeks and it's not easy to understand when your body is telling you to stop and your brain says get to work!!! It isn't gonna happen if you don't make it happen. Congrats on pushing thru!!!
😂 girl I get it! My family use to walk in a room and see me watching this and call me weird. After more than a year, they now totally watch it with me when there’s any talk of smashing bags.😂
You guys are the most amazing, industrious, hard-working, nicest, and brilliant humans I have ever come across. I wish I knew how to do even a fraction of what you guys can do. Watching your videos is the highlight of my week…they are just pure, clean, uplifting fun. Many blessings to you both and your sweet children.
Well 12% is correct. 30 years ago we build a beautiful farmhouse and I lived in it for about a year then got a divorce. Sad to say it does take a toll but you guys are resilient. I have faith in you ❤
My wife and I have remodeled a dozen houses over the last 45 years. Often, we have had disagreements. We put them to bed at night or sooner. There is a huge difference between a house and a marriage. The secret is "don't give up, just give in".
This is literally the best show in entertainment. Be it cable tv, network tv, Netflix, Prime, UA-cam and all the others. I’m entertained, educated, and not so patiently wait each week for a new episode. In support I sit through all the ads in hopes that it contributes to your bottom line. I am beyond thrilled to see a simple hardworking family be the front runner in this sustainable building method. Kudos to all 6 of you!!
I HAVE NEVER LIVED IN AN AREA WHERE YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT FREEZING WATER.....MORE TO LEARN AND MORE FOR YOU GUYS TO INSTALL...ALL VERY INTERESTING ..... THE WALLS ARE GOING UP FAST....THANK YOU DARLINGS.....BLESSINGS DARLINGS FROM GRANNY LINDA IN OZ 🇦🇺
I am so impressed with how far you have come with the round house. Totally amazing job. Every single one of you. I look forward to seeing every episode.
Good job guy's! ❤ Your doing great take your time get your rest.We are all here for you and your family. You all are so very amazing. We are all cheering for you.❤❤❤
Good thing we clarified which shirt otherwise might have turned into another whole channel 😂😂 so fun to see this coming together want it done already but at the same time want it to last cause so enjoying the process and growth.
You are all doing so well on the house. Not just the building, but all that goes with it. Have you given thought to how you will conduct yourselves when you come to the just living in it? Thank you for the info on the building of a house may cause a divorce. I saw this in an older couple who built their dream home and almost didn't get to live in it together. The water spigot info was invaluable to me. New insights as to what is out there.
The ones that I found are the ones you put in a 5 gallon the bottom of them in a 5 gallon bucket put them 2 foot below the ground to 3 foot below the ground and have them sticking up about 4 foot when you pull the handle up the water comes up when you shut the water off water drains downunder the ground goes away simple as that, and it does not freeze even a cold list of temperatures
Excellent filming by the way, one small note you might want to think about sun damage. Having worked outside most of my life I have found wearing a bandana around my neck, skin is very thin there, very helpful, also a hat to cover your ears and shade your face is helpful against the beautiful yet harmful rays of the sun. I love how you keep the narration interesting, and shoot off to bugs and sun sets and dogs occasionally. Also drone footage keeps everything thing in perspective. Great job love the channel.
It is good to see how far you have come! I am finally seeing how the inner courtyard is going to work and that gives me ideas of how we can build our round house in the future.
Love your channel, love your beautiful family, love your beautiful dogs and goats. Everything is looking amazing. Good job 👍. Hardest working family on UA-cam TV. Never mess a video. Gotta have my you tube fix.everyday.
Y'all doing truly amazing and your home progress is fast I think y'all have a beautiful home later this year or early next at the latest. Y'all get well real soon. 🙂
You may want to calculate how many of those plastic spouts you will need over 50 years ( yes I am thinking positive ) and purchase them now, You don't how long the manufacturer will be on business and considering the difficulty replacing the outside plumbing through the earthbag walls. it is something to consider. Steve O.
thanks for the vids what your calling spigot i know of as hose bib here in canada most exterior hose bibs are frost proof and made of metal brass being the quality option they are not specialty items but commonly available. good luck with the build
Yes, hose bibs, hydrants, spigots - they have a few names. Most of ours are made of brass as well, and like we mentioned aren't really that great of quality. Stainless is definitely better.
As long as you're putting good energy into your build. I love how it's beginning to take shape. I have an octagon house and we've used earth to build our homes for a long time. My house is modern because I couldn't find the people to join me on my build. It's okay but I looked at hydrants, so will get the one you shared. I offered thanks and talked to my house when it was being built and told the people who came to help, no drinking and bring good energy. Happy New Year...you're all amazing! Feel better.
Happy New Year Jonathan, Ashley and the fam! You guys are such an inspiration to us. Your positive attitudes and drive help keep us going too. Appreciate all the info and the loving entertainment. Thank you so much ♥ Have the best year!!
Wow! Looking good! So happy for your progress! The stress of building our home has caused difficulty, but we are working through things, celebrating the little things, as well as the big! We will hopefully be in our house in the spring of this year!
good idea to install one now and test it yourself before plumbing in the whole exterior of the house! Jumped back on to add your filming and editing are so good you don't really need to talk! I love the music and fast action. Because I watch youtube at 1.75 speed the music and background noise can make me stop watching a channel I might otherwise enjoy. Thank you!
Love love loved this episode..🎉 excellent job to the whole family. You all made me smile so much. Especially every time I heard "everything is fine"..😂😂
Wow!! You all are truly incredible and an awesome team. I can now visualize the house!!😁 I'm so excited for the progress and the next videos!! Keep up the good work!🎉👍
Thing to think about if you have to put a hose and stuff up to that if you don’t have a wall there, you could build you like a little counter area to put a flower pot or something on and then or even a bookshelf or something that you could put something on it’s just all kinds of things that you could do to go around that to hide your hoses
Looking good, folks. You are starting to have to climb up to add more bags! Sniffles, tummy bug, or just sick of working (we all have those days), hope you all feel better soon. Hats off to you for keeping on even when you aren't feeling the greatest. It is so exciting to see those walls take shape.
I feel like folks working this hard while feeling subpar deserve a thumbs up! 👍 Don’t forget friends.
I sat the wife down for a talk before we started buillding our house about that same topic. Every time I watch your walls rising up - I smile. Your home is going to be beautiful. I can hardly wait to see the kitchen being built!
I hope you all feel better soon. The house is really coming along.
WANT A JOB?
Hahaha no distractions till the house is done 😂 Seriously though thanks for combing through the back catalog!
They are fantastic builders aren't they! Hope Jack feels better soon he probably does by now!!!
If you live close maybe you could hire one or two of their children to work for a few hours each week and help you with the things that are hard for you to do alone.
No we need them! 😂
We all understand how hard it is to work when feeling under the weather. I've been down almost 2 weeks and it's not easy to understand when your body is telling you to stop and your brain says get to work!!! It isn't gonna happen if you don't make it happen. Congrats on pushing thru!!!
The dog play area has really paid off for days when you need your focus! Another win!❤
Why is it so satisfying to watch the bags being tamped!?!?!?! I am a weirdo..............☺
😂 girl I get it! My family use to walk in a room and see me watching this and call me weird. After more than a year, they now totally watch it with me when there’s any talk of smashing bags.😂
Something is always better than nothing. True that.
You can never fail when "everything's fine". What a great mantra!!
Get well soon, hope you feel better soon 🙏

Watching your videos is the highlight of my week…they are just pure, clean, uplifting fun. Many blessings to you both and your sweet children.
The improvement is really noticable with each layer. The walls are getting up there! It's really getting more and more exciting!!! Happy New Year!!
11 courses folks! Wow what an accomplishment already. Time for a sushi treat for sure !!!
Well 12% is correct. 30 years ago we build a beautiful farmhouse and I lived in it for about a year then got a divorce. Sad to say it does take a toll but you guys are resilient. I have faith in you ❤
11 on the ground !!! Looking SUPER up,up and away.
Y'all have a wonderful new year. Looking forward to seeing y'all finishing your house. Round house. Space ship. Earth ship.
My wife and I have remodeled a dozen houses over the last 45 years. Often, we have had disagreements. We put them to bed at night or sooner. There is a huge difference between a house and a marriage.
The secret is "don't give up, just give in".
Your new t-shirt..."stop yappin' and start baggin'". Maybe for your next workshop.😂
You guys are amazing. The house is coming along well and yes, you’re gonna have a home before too long. May you have great health and peace and joy

I love the uniformity of your work. It’s so satisfying to gaze upon. Thanks!
Happy New Year! Course by course. Then you can move on to the next phase. Rooting for you!!!!
I think you should use small Talavera tiles over the stainless steel plate once the hydrants are installed
Happy New Year guys!!! All my best wishes for this 2025. You are an amazing loving and hard working family. Love and be safe!😘🌻🌞VE

Determination and consistency will bring high red bags above the heads!!! Whoop Whoop!
Hang in there guys, you are doing so well, may our Lord Jesus continue to keep watch over you and meet your every need.
Its OK NOT TO FEEL GOOD. Who feels good after New Years celebrations anyway? I have a hangover d size of Texas !!!!!
Yeah those are generally for areas away from the house.
Wow its growing happy new year guys may 2025 be a great year for the family❤❤❤

Everything is fine! Using this wonderful simple phrase is very useful, and stress reducing!

Yes have thought about that for sure. They’ve actually been on business nearly 20 years 👍🏻
Happy New Year! Wishing you all the best for 2025!

Good luck, keep making progress!
🎉 This is HUGE progress... it is shaping up nicely. Hope you all are on the mend & had a relaxing Christmas/New Years 🎉
So proud of how far you’ve come!!! It’s definitely gonna pay off!!! Bag by bag!❤🎉

Amazing progress. So motivating, even when you're not feeling well.
Yay🎉 course 11 done!!!🎉
Pushing through when you don't feel good builds healthy and productive individuals. Good job, Mom and Dad!
Feel better! I still enjoy the videos. You all are living the life I want. g
Once again very informative. Appreciate all the good details on your frost free choice. Enjoyed the video as always. Feel better!🙏
Love love loved this episode..🎉 excellent job to the whole family. You all made me smile so much. Especially every time I heard "everything is fine"..😂😂
Are you maintaining level on each side of doorways and windows?
All walls need to be plumb, yes. We are constantly checking this as we go up.
So glad you guys had a sushi date night and know when to talk less and get to work. Happy New Year to you all. 🎉❤
Doing a Great Job! ❤ I Hope everyone feels Better soon.
With the water spigot do you leave the hose on the plastic piece all the time?
You can yeah
Looking good! Keeping focused and getting on with it 😊
Wow!! You all are truly incredible and an awesome team. I can now visualize the house!!😁 I'm so excited for the progress and the next videos!! Keep up the good work!🎉👍

All the details make a big difference. I know it's fiddle, but it is worth it. Yall are doing a fabulous job working it out.
You all rock, this is looking good and coming together beautifully. Take care, stay safe.
I like my outdoor hydrants that look like old pumps. I never have to worry about it leaking into my house.
Yall are doing a great job! 👏
Looking good, folks. You are starting to have to climb up to add more bags! Sniffles, tummy bug, or just sick of working (we all have those days), hope you all feel better soon. Hats off to you for keeping on even when you aren't feeling the greatest. It is so exciting to see those walls take shape.
Wow it'll be up in no time now considering all the windows and doors makes for less bag to fill.😊
