Hearing your comments of respecting your children's welfare while building a new home was enlightening for me. My three siblings and I helped my dad & mom begin to build a log cabin. It was such a fun experience and although it never came to fruition, it was truly one that I will never forget! Bonus points for your kids since our experience came before the internet!!!😂 Love watching your vids ..... your furry babies are adorable!
Having lived through several bushfires here in Australia, the worst being Black Saturday 2019 love your thoughts on fire proofing your house. Definitely the steel roof and beams but also think of your water supply. Any fittings and pipes above ground are susceptible to melting in the heat of a fire, when you need water the most to protect your house and your family. We have made sure all our pipes and fittings now are metal, yes they could get hot and melt but not as quickly as poly and plastic. A sprinkler system built into your roof could be something to consider as well, which can protect your house from ember attack as well as fire. Hopefully all the planning you put in will never be needed but small changes could give you peace of mind or even save a life. Love your family and looking forward to watching your progress throughout 2025. Hope you all feel fit and healthy sooner rather than later.
I love the bottle wall work you did on the outdoor shower and the bathroom/ laundry room. Good fire safety is always a smart decision. Even if it is more expensive.

Jamu is an Indonesian drink, meaning magical water. It is ground ginger, ground turmeric, lemon or lime juice and black pepper cooked on the stove top for 15 minutes in coconut water. You will want to strain it.
I saw something similar on internet. I put 2 cut lemons with the skin on, in a blender, I added a stick of ginger, a tablespoon of turmeric (fresh is better), and a little bit of water. I blended it and made ice cubes. The recipe said to put a little bit of honey into a cup, add hot water, and the ice cube or cubes. It worked wonders on me. I'm almost cured. My recipe didn't mention pepper, but it makes sense. Turmeric works better when you add black pepper. It makes turmeric work better in your body. In my case, I'm intolerant to pepper, so I can't use it.
Metal is the best for fire safety. But sofets are discouraged so the roof doesn’t pull in embers. The architect that designed one of the houses that didn’t burn, mentioned that. Look into that along with the rest of the fireproof roof designs. I think your whole house is going to be a work of art.
