Let's talk about the 6v6 tests did right, wrong and what more can be done to help it out, I think the most obvious is to just get rid of this season 9 patch. Also guys I meant to say "Contest Tanks" not Contest DPS, early in the vid, lol.
To put it blunt and brief This test had problems 5v5 has problems But 6v6 is more fun and looks easily fixable solely on a balance view not fundamental flaw ie 1 tank in 5v5 Out of the two problem modes I’ll take 6v6 👍
A mauga walked into the open on Midtown and died in 1 second. It was amazing. As a tank main it felt so amazing watching everyone have to use their brain
I’ve seen so many 5v5 tank players complaining about tanks being too “killable” and I laugh. They actually have to have good positioning and get punished for their mistakes now 😂😂😂
@@cantu7214Depends on the tank, off tanks feel way better dva and zarya feel much better in 6v6 i normally dont like these heroes but loved coordinating with my other tank when playing them. But some tanks like doom feel ass not necessarily because of the health changes but also because his cooldowns are so damn slow. Doom just feels like u have to punchbot the enemy tanks since its safer to kill the frontline rather than take 100 years to setup and dive the backline whilst only having 425hp. But idk i only played like 8 matches so far in the 6v6 test i guess time will tell.
@@cantu7214 i think in 5v5 he's still decent yea he sucks at controlling space when compared to winston but i think he works fine as a niche pick. I'm just kinda annoyed how they litterally buffed most supports in the 6v6 playtest like ana is actually stupidly busted nade on 10 second cooldown is insane 90 damage and full duration on tanks. Ana is my 2nd most played hero and i think the buffs she got are insane. The devs arguement is she'll be getting dove more but she has 75dmg 250hp and another tank to peel for her now lmao.
I think it also has to do with a form of equilibrium. That's more ways to work in synergy. That's also more ults to make more plays. I noticed in Marvel Rivals that when there are 6 players, it's just a more in depth game, but at the same time it balances and levels itself out. Like balancing a stick on the palm of your hand, is it easier with a long stick or a short stick? (Representative of the amount of players on a team)
@@yirtimd2faterland986 literally why would they want to do that with their current competitor? The gamemode just came out with a completely different balance team than the one in ow1 no shit not everything's going to be perfect
its kinda funny how re-adding 6v6 basically undid 2 years worth of balance changes but everyone loves it 😂😂 just goes to show that 6v6 was always the right move
You know the funniest thing about 5v5? In the 6v6 test, those 5v5 players were so used to giving up after ONE lost teamfight, and to be fair thats typically how 5v5 would play out since you cant cover a tank diff. So many games I had in 6v6 we were on the verge of losing, but we held out, managed ults great, and completely came back and WON. That is overwatch. No stomp bullshit, just regualar dudes making heroic plays for each other
Exactly, I had many situations in 6v6 where we were down 1 or 2 players and still able to win because we manage resources and tanks can actually die. It's so good.
Bro that’s what I’ve been saying. I had a game yesterday of Hanaoka and I touched last second on Genji and stalled out for my team to get there, we killed their team and got the point. 5v5 COULD NEVER!!!
Yep I had a game attacking on Route 66 where we were about to be full held with 1 min left and had 4 leavers, then we came back and won. Alternatively, I had a moment where trades happened and we got to be 4v5, my other 3 teammates just… ran away. We were at the bridge at the end of 2nd on Paraiso attack, I was holding left and instead of holding their power positions on high the other 3 ran away and I got ran over by 5. I was like guys… we can still win if we play our cards right! But they have 5v5 brain. I remember when people used to fight and die on cart and not play scared or for KD.
The worst thing about this mode is everything added in OW2. Season 9 health pools, season 9 hitboxes, role passives, Genji being how he is now… Here is an example: I get a dash combo on one of the supports, then pull out blade and slash/dash Brig who is now alone and get her to 1/4 or lower hp… she panic ults, instantly gets her bash back then bash/whips me, now I’m half hp and she is 3/4 and gaining… there is no chance to even try to get back to her to get the elim. So I just AFK with 4 seconds of blade left and run off the map. What is this crap? This is not a 6v6 issue, this is leftovers from 5v5. So terrible, I would never get a better opportunity on that Brig than the one I took. You should not be able to reactively ult to both save yourself and refresh your shutdown ability like that. This just goes to show not only their bias against Genji, but the fact that they obviously didn’t play test this at all. Last time I got to play 6v6 was in OW Classic. Genji had 28 dmg shurikens, 120 dmg blade, 8 second blade, slower swing speed, wider spread, 24 ammo, and only 200hp - even with how clunky he was at launch he felt LEAGUES better. Now we have nerfed 27 dmg shurikens and 110 blade while all the enemies have 250hp and instead of going against Zen/Lucio/Mercy supports you have crap like Brig and the suzu hero. So basically launch 2016 Genji was better in all the important ways (shuriken/blade dmg and ult duration) and had to go against worse supports that had less HP. Now you are using nerfed abilities against power creep support design that ALSO has extra HP? Ludicrous. If Blizzard tries to tell us 6v6 was bad, we have to fight back even harder. No way they are trying to put out a good patch. They’re still trying to force their 5v5 philosophy with the S9 changes and passives into 6v6. These devs don’t even realize all that stuff is just duct tape fixes trying to make 5v5 work and have no place in OW. The only other thing besides these changes and balance that is an issue is the brain drain that is immediately obvious. So many tanks/supports look absolutely LOST and I find many DPS players are resorting to playing picks like Bastion, Mei, etc in a LOT of my games. Must be trying to cut through these enormous health pools.
Basically what you just said but apply that to Winston. Both are pretty useless in that mode. They’re trying to make the mode trash on purpose in order to keep 5v5. They don’t want to admit it was a horrible idea. We only wanted 5v5 before because we didn’t get an update for 3 years in ow 1 so we took whatever they gave us at that point. If we had a team now back then they probably could’ve saved overwatch and we wouldn’t need a crappy sequel.
@@TheUnseenKrab I’m glad I left that game. Everyone always has an ego and you guys are extremely negative and toxic. Marvel rivals slams anyways.

Genji is a mans hero. They can't have soyboys and girls losing against such a hero. So they made Genji a meme. Blizzard is aligned with the woke booshid.
Lucio feels great in 6v6 imo, straight up the most fun I've had in a long time in this game. Even with all the new nonsense in the game, going back to 2 tanks feels like going back home.
This is THE MOST FUN I’ve had in the game by FAR- it feels so rewarding making good plays knowing that you’re actually (for the most part) outplaying someone and not just rolling them with stats
I practically only play wrecking ball and in 6v6 you have almost unlimited freedom at times. You can go for long plays flanking, you can boop enemy tanks into yours depending on the situation, you can bully enemy tanks far easier with no more passive. He honestly feels overpowered since I'm used to 5v5. I can go make a play without my team folding if they need a damage sponge in front of them. People are far less likely to counterswap you and with the added presence of another tank on your team counterswaps aren't anywhere near as devastating to play against because your other tank can apply pressure if they all try to go after you, sometimes they can't even go after you. Every widow that has swapped to sombra so far for me hasn't been able to do anything meaningful. Genuinely the most fun I've had on the game in years.
100% more enjoyable than 5v5 for a myriad of reasons. After yesterday’s games, all I could think about in my last 2 hours at work was Overwatch. As someone who has been super frustrated with the state of 5v5 since S9 especially, this test couldn’t be more welcome! Tank: I have my second tank! I’ve finally been enjoying playing tank again! With the new additions to the tank roster, there is so much more team composition variety. Counterswapping still exists of course, but the outcome of a match is no longer dictated by your hero selection in spawn. Tanks having less HP means there is more of a window to outplay an unfavorable matchup. This doesn’t even account for the fact you have a second tank to help you out, and split enemy attention and resources. Less cooldowns are being used on me when I play tank. Simple as this sounds, counterswapping doesn't feel annoying. DPS: DPS feels incredible. It seems on first glance that one would have less space to do things, but having 6 targets to potentially pressure, rather than 4 in 5v5, goes a long way. It doesn’t feel like playing DBD when tanks can actually be meaningfully interacted with. Besides this, abilities like Suzu and Grip feel far less oppressive as their uses actually need thought put into them. You don’t feel like you’re being constantly cheated out of kills every single fight. Support: Support gameplay actually doesn’t feel all that different to me. The main difference I find is that I consistently have a tank or DPS to peel for me if I need it. I still have ample opportunity to deal damage, and team fights depend far less on shoving heals up your tanks’ behinds than balanced usage between everyone on your team. It’s so much more exciting than 5v5! General: The DPS passive. This is here to keep sustain down, but sometimes it just feels like you’ll blow up randomly when playing tank with lower HP, even through healing. I acknowledge that burst healing is overtuned, but the DPS passive to keep it down is just a bandaid fix. Remove the passive, and nerf burst healing. S9 HP and projectile size changes should not be present. Not in 6v6, and not in 5v5. It still disproportionately benefits hitscan over projectile, and screws up DPS balance, breakpoints, and tank survivability. There are some overtuned heroes in every role, but even still, it just feels better in spite of this. All in all, I haven’t had this much fun in OW on any role since OW1. I will be religiously playing this every day I can until it goes away. This needs to be permanent!
I never played ow, so it took a bit of time to adjust myself as a tank and position better but when I got it my god it feels so good, so fucking good, the push or defense doesn't stop when one tank dies I had to actually stop myself from falling back and regrouping out of instinct, I love this.. This pulled me out of just playing rivals and I'm playing and loving both
my friend whos started to play on overwatch 2 tried the 6v6 and she really likes it, immediately said how it feels much more fun than what we have live. and she mostly plays support on live, played tank in 6v6 and said it was just more fun.
The Combo of bigger Health Pools AND the DPS Heroes still applying 15% anti heal to everyone causes Supps to be more healbott-y than in old OW1 I think they should revert S9 and see how it feels and if its still to healbott-y remove the 15% anti heal of DPS and buff them elsewhere
Also, hard agree on Sombra! We played some 6v6 in internal scrims with my team, and I played Sombra with a heavy dive comp. Everyone is Master-GM, and I'm no Sombra player, but holy CRAP did we destroy their comp!
Wall of text incoming> okay, like i said some time ago i'm a OW2 season 6 player, i didn't play any 6v6 custom mode or OW1, i don't like 5v5 because i've played it, of course, and i just felt it was really bad and didn't reward me for playing with characters like Ball or tanks in general and after playing 6v6 i think it is just way better than 5v5 in every single way, yeah the patch is kinda...questionable as always but the gamemode itself is really really fun and even 3 days later just playing tank the majority of my games i still like it even when i lose, i do have some things to say from majority my experience alone and sometimes duo tank with my friend: - OW2 Tanks in 6v6: i think almost all of them fit pretty nicely in 6v6, besides balance on some of them. - Ram, Queen, Doom and the OW1 tanks fit perfectly. - Hazard too and just as i expected, now you can go around the map and do some flanks like a soft wrecking ball playstyle, you don't need to stay in the frontline 100% of the time, this character is really fun with a lot of rollouts. He's my new second main now lol. (tip: after playing him a lot and trying stuff, i found that you can keep wallclimbing on top of roofs infinitely, just don't tell blizzard 😉) - Orisa is...just there sometimes, kinda boring as always but sure, maybe without the KB passive she can boop people on specific maps but that's it. - Ball is back yipiee! 🎉🎉yeah it's just way better to play ball with 2 tanks. - Mauga (and hog) are kinda weird, they are really bad as expected, 6v6 didn't really solve those characters designs per say but i found out that you can kinda play mauga and hog together, of course is not the best but if you coordinate with you other tank and play safe with mauga, only engaging when you can kill someone with you run, you can play them together lol you can even hook people into the cage fight, me and my friend would win kinda consistently with mauga and hog. but yeah they still really need a full rework to their kits. - Suzu, Lamp, Life Grip , Nade and all that stuff is solved, yeah it is still boring to play against immortality but it's not that impactful anymore, with more players they are forced faster and not just dumped on the tank or denying everyone's plays. - Everyone can duel everyone, i like it because now it's not the game robbing me with a 9000 hp hog that can't die and will just hook me on cooldown, i know i missplayed as wrecking ball if i die to a ana or anyone really. - Fights are still winnable if both tanks die, i was expecting to just lose everytime the tanks died, but no, i can't count the amount of times i won or lost in a 4v5 , 4v6 etc just normally or with ults. - I've never seen anyone with 20k damage and 5 kills, it's really good to see people with like 10k damage and 20-25 kills, things really die and i'm not shooting a wall that don't die anymore. I think that's it for now, i really love 6v6 it is just way more fun, i didn't say anything about support but they are really fun too, it's not just heal bot 100% of the time and especially ana is really good and rewarding to play, i just started playing her on 6v6, zen and lucio also feels really rewarding to play too. i'll play some DPS today to see how it goes, anyway besides maybe queue times 5v5 is cooked.
The patch is no where near balanced absolutely, but when I say playing this mode and watching EVERYTHING die…. Was great…. Having a tank flank and then having a tank hold the front… is SO MUCH BETTER.
Ball main here. I played ball in the 6v6 community games and in this gamemode now and I've just gotta say, this ain't it. You have more ammo yes, but since you have less HP and Shields it means you can't often stay long enough to even use it while the piledriver increased cooldown just means you take longer to reengage. In summary, you do no damage, you explode and you have way less opportunities to engage. I'd rather have less ammo and more piledrivers on 6v6 ngl
I fr cannot be arsed with this shit anymore They fucked Genji over 2 years ago, bro has no damage Balance team not looking at moveset but looking at percentages, not even saying go to another game but Genji is dead whilst Alec Dawson is in charge and OW will continue to suffer with his team's judgement.
When they were developing the game they landed on 6v6 because of all the good reasons you listed. all the synergy. but then they lost the plot and kept trying random stuff to try to maintain player counts.
Maybe they could also give doom some version of uppercut instead of block and tie empowered punch to something else. I just hope they continue to experiment with the format.
My only complaint about it is that as a ball player it is like 5 times harder to get value with the extra tank because either they can spare a tank or they can spare letting the whole team turn around because there are 2 tanks tanking for them so killing the server admin feels so much harder and when you do eventually kill them then it's an insta-lock on sombra
Ball is overnerfed, he's not supposed to feel like this. In 6v6 he plays like pocket winston where he engages more frequently and leaves faster, but with the increased piledriver cooldown and lower health your rhythm is just so messed up and you literally AFK half the time
You should make a guide on what mentality each role should have in general for those of us who couldn't play 6v6 at the time, sometimes as a DPS I feel more useless than in 5v5 and other times I feel more comfortable, I don't know if it's because the DPS didn't receive buffs or if I have to change my mentality.
@@julicomo9815 lmaoo yup, I thought it was just me but when every game is me bringing the enemy team to a PARTICLE of hp but they just heal it back like it’s nothing? That’s definitely the game. It happened twice this morning, honestly killed my drive to continue.
I did a mirror match up against a Mauga in a 6v6. Color me impressed when the Sigma I was with used kinetic grasp to completely change Mauga from a boring Tank 1v1 to an inherently team-reliant poke off-tank, and to top it off, I haven’t really considered Mauga to be oppressive.
the one aspect that infuriated me was the reverts to some tank changes, like pig pen, double shot m1, two fire strikes, rein steer, and ball shield share. it literally makes no sense to remove stuff from tank if they do not feel that oppressive in 6v6 anymore. hopefully they give them their new kits back. aside from that, playing tanks like winston, dva, ball feel amazing. hazard feels ok. supports need to focus on healing way more, leaving to frustration when playing dps. they focus too much on making sure the tanks dont die. dps feels much better overall imo, and support feels a little stressful if you focus too much on healing. if you focus on damage, support can be fun still. health regen should never be removed. it should remain forever.
Reaper is fine but what's interesting about him is that post ability and dmg nerf his gameplay feels clunky unless you're getting healbotted by a strong support, which I think is absolutely weird because he's supposed to be a more threatening presence in a very synergized team game
Must say the balance made me expect it being bad but it’s enjoyable and I really hope they will listen to balance advice because we’ve been on this trajectory for years and it’s time they admit to a few changes and 6v6 is a great start. It felt like Overwatch and tanks vs tanks just feels fun.
I love to be the Kaiju monster in 5v5, however I would only play the new characters: mauga, ramatra, queen, etc, sometimes playing zarya, and I love playing these tanks but nothing comes close to genji. I have 500 hours in DPS, and 600 on tank with well distributed on the tank roaster, while 400 of those DPS hours were on genji. he lost a lot of his charm on 5v5 instead of going in with the tank, or peeling for the support, you're mostly on your own. 6v6 made me play the genji I love: dash in, secure kills, and dash out. playing WITH the tanks feels great. I love having a pocket mercy who I can actually defend another thing I love about 6v6 is the pace. it's slower and more team based, rather than a consistent free for all. It has the chill enjoyment I had that I missed from 5v5 for context, I don't play ranked, but I'm a diamond tank if we use quick play MMR (which is basically the same as ranked), plat dps and plat support another thing is: your other tank tapping out and you defending him feels great.
I've never played Ow1 and didn't play the Ow classic mode. Yesterday I experiment this 6v6 mode and it was amazing even though it was really fast-paced and so many things happening at the same time. I didn't play much, so I don't know how to analyze yet, and also don't know how I feel, as a support main, to see my tank get ABSOLUTELY TOASTED in 5 seconds because the of low health, but I get that's fine, it's way easier to heal them. Junkerqueen and Zarya seems to be really week with this changes, and I prefer new Roadhog over the ow1 version. I also don't like the changes they did to Doom, but I don't play him, so I really don't know how it feels.
I just love after being gaslight all this time about my stance on 6v6 that it comes out and proves them all wrong. Hopefully we get more people to the 6v6 cause that were 5v5 enjoyers and can help stop the gas lighting. At the end of the day I am tired of being told how I feel and what I want when it just feels so much like the opposite.
Are some interactions still the same like how they were in 5v5. Like is hanzo’s dragon still the fast speed one or can reaper and Moira fade off zarya’s ult?
Is it just me or is 6v6 more stable in how it balances itself out? Having another tank is another factor to bait out sustain cooldowns now rather than having one less in 5v5. And tanks have their ults and kit making more creative plays available for a wider range of situations.
In the 6v6 custom mode they already found out that doom is just broken and they nerfed him hard, but he was still good. They found that out because the devs of the modes talked to the players.
I think doomfist should be a "snowballing tank" where landing his abilities should allow him to use them more kind of how junker queen gets health I think doom should get cooldown reduction. That may make him terrible, but it sounds fun to be able to slam a team 3 times in a row if you do it properly or punch someone twice in quick succession. So he just gets to be a constant pressure to your team until you stop his cycle. I would also make his empowered punch charge by landing those abilities, too, and letting the block just be what it is, a block
I think they to the balance will be bringing down cooldowns to around 10 for most of them. An adjusting the power correspondingly. Also, many of the 5v5 tank changes made tanks *more versatile* and *less matchup/team up dependent*. So things like zarya bubbles, rein fire strikes and steering, etc. should be kept while making some numbers sacrifices elsewhere to let them keep the flexibility and fluidity. That will ensure that the worst tank pairings dont feel as bad. And that the best ones arent too strong (the numbers are lower).
Proverbs 4:26-27 "Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil"
lol that’s immediately how I felt from the first game. It’s hilariously obvious who tanks in 5v5 compared to someone who played 6v6 ow. 5v5 tanking makes people feel like they know how to tank but they really don’t. And even though I love 6v6, this is going to cause a big problem in 6v6 because no one is going to want to play and we already got few people playing that role already lol.
Supports feel very healbotty right now though. In 5v5 I feel like you could heal efficiently and also have more time to deal damage. In 6v6 there is a lot more focus to be had to maintain heals on everyone around you, also keeping in mind the enemies. Also some supports just feel a lot worse in a 6v6 setting.
They should revert Genji's clip to 24 but make it so it resets after a dash. Critical immunity during dash to prevent lucky bs shots would be welcome too
What I really Love in 6v6 is the Fact you can't Win just by picking a hero in 6v6 you actually need to know to play The hero to actually get value. in 5v5 its so simple to counterswap its breaking the idea of trying to master a hero you like cause why would i Play genji or tracer if the enemy team will automatically will pick Moira/Mei/Zarya just to make sure I'll have a bad time.
The balance isn't great but every hero I've tried (except Cassidy) feels significantly better. I've been queuing all roles every game since it launched and unlike 5v5 I don't feel like logging off after 3 tank games in a row. A revert of season 9 would be nice, but all I wanted and expected from this test was current OW2 balance with 2 tanks and that's exactly what we got.
I havent had this much fun in OW in such a long time. Even losing is more enjoyable. And God its glorious to see a tank get punished for poor positioning / mistakes. Just sucks everyone who was a voice for 6v6 is playing rivals. I only hope Team 4 gets the data they need to see how good it really is and how well received it is by the overall player base.
I still think hanzo should get an arrow speed increase for consistency but overall I felt like as a hanzo I could make plays and give much more value to my team then in 5v5. The best part is my head shots are actually effective against tanks again and I get rewarded for hitting tanks in the head.
devs need to buff tracer and genji in 6v6 if they won't revert hp change(which shouldn't be in 6v6 in first place), this will show they are actually serious about balance to me personally until then it is just a glorified skin simulator for support players and i am better off on rivals.
I think that 6v6 is equal with 5v5. It depends on the map which one feels better. I prefer 5v5 for clash and push. I prefer 6v6 for King of the hill and hybrid. I like both for payload and flashpoint, which one I prefer for payload depends on the map.
Being totally honest, I felt like 6v6 was way more steamroll-y than 5v5: either your team stomps the enemy, or (most of the time) the enemy team stomps you- neither is fun. Granted, I haven't played much as much 5v5, because I've only started playing OW2 recently.
I'm not a tank player, but since 6v6 came out, i been playing hazard with some friends and it's been the most fun i had in overwatch 2. I don't really care about competitive for a long time, i only care now if it's fun to play even if it's broken. So my only problems are some specific heroes, like Mauga, Orisa, Junk and Sombra. Change their kits or make it less frustrating and I won't have any complaints.
"the worst balance patch that 6v6 can have" Saying this while goat and double shield, moth meta and launch overwatch patch exist is crazy, like this is just straight up a lie, this patch is better than all previous 6v6 patch
If you just said double shield then I would’ve agreed with you, but these health pool changes have to go. They had the bright idea of buffing CREE WIDOW AND KIRI. Absolutely ridiculous bias from this balance team.
Double shield and goats was fun. Ultimates mattered. There was more team play in the game with regular abilities too. And even though there was more sustain you were still punished for bad positioning cuz the health pools were smaller
I think he meant like for the experiment card, the changes leftover from s9 plus the minor changes to certain heroes for the test were bad, and I agree. I believe meta and balance are not entirely the same; he wasn't referring to a meta
/THIS/ version of 6V6 with the HP pools and all, I don't consider it the same as the "200 HP" era. To me that's its own thing, this experiment is a new 6v6 since t hey are promoting it that way, so I refer to it as such. You get me?
my thoughts on the 6v6 test I've played a lot of games, but not many characters. I'll do it like in the video I'll start with TANKS I played a lot of classic tanks (Reinhardt, Zarya, Winston). Among the new tanks, I played queen and hazard. Everyone except Reinhardt felt great. In the case of Reinhard, I really miss the second firestrike. When someone is even at mid-range, I feel like I can't do anything about it. And it’s not the same feeling as in the classic (at that time there was much less healing in the game, and also the HP pools were lower). Firestrike has turned into a useless ability that you just use to get a little ult charge. I think the turning speed in the pin should have been left as is. (they already increased the cooldown, even if they don't want it to be so mobile, maybe it was worth lowering it by not 50 percent, maybe it's worth trying with 30 or 25) It was interesting to experiment with new synergies; the following compositions seemed good to me: Winston + Hazard, Queen + Reinhardt, Reinhard + Ramatra looked good, Zarya + Ramatra, Queen + Hazard. I also saw a lot of Reinhardt + Mauga, I saw attempts to play Reinhardt + Orisa, I also saw Ramatra + Sigma. In general, playing tanks was much more relaxed, less stressful, there was no feeling that I had to turn into the best player on the planet in order to beat counter picks (sometimes in 5v5 playing Winston against a reaper + bastion + mauga is a real nightmare, the rest of the time it’s just very boring). Separately, I want to praise what they did with orisa. Finally we have an Orisa that doesn't have 5 billion HP. SUPPORTS Among the supports, I only managed to touch Juno, Kiri and Brigitte. I also wanted to try Lucio, but when I saw the second support on Mercy, I had to play something that could heal. The only thing I noticed is that the team needs more healing than I'm used to. (in 5v5 I’m used to playing more like a duelist, helping the tank create space). My friend who is a support main said that for her there is not much difference in this, since she focuses more on healing anyway. (She heallbots often) DPS Overall, I have a positive impression regarding damage heroes. Having the ability to kill a tank is worth a lot. (this is also a plus for support). Regarding Genji, I had a feeling that it’s easier to play now. Most likely this is due to the second tank on the battlefield. In terms of individual strength, he needs help. I still think that we need to return the way the blade worked before season 9. Personally, I found it much more enjoyable to use it before. The current speed just feels wrong. And the fact that ULTIMATE damage is comparable to the normal attacks of some heroes is simply crazy. Shurikens are kinda useless. idk why they cant buff it by +1dmg. Tracer felt relatively normal, but I wouldn't mind a small damage buff. The hero is already difficult to start playing, why should she be weak. (and the fact that they buffed the damage of Torbjorn's turret but did not buff the damage of the tracer and genji is driving me crazy. Torb is kinda fun but man..) and why also all hp pools are higher but dmg is lover than was before (genji`s and tracer`s) Mb its me. but venture felt kinda op. In general, 6v6 felt 10 times better to play than 5v5. Therefore, it is our duty to play and show the developers that we know what we are asking for.
PS: I don’t know how, but even when the queue for DPS showed 14 minutes, I found the game in less than a minute. I queued for all roles, and about 50 percent of the matches I was thrown into DPS.
@@xneticc I played one match, and it seemed to me that no one could catch me (we played Reinhardt + Zarya, and it seemed to me that with an additional tank there were more opportunities for creativity). It was fun to boop an enemy tank into my team to kill him together. Everyone also plays closer to each other, which makes the AOE abilities a little stronger. Surprisingly, Venture does a lot of damage to tanks. At least that's what I thought. Still, these are early impressions.
Imagine they do rework Wifeleaver, I personally would love if they kept the plant theme and pulled a little inspiration from Mantis in MR. No more pull or platform, give him a consumable power boost for him or his allies at very least.
imo, its deff a skill issue but, as a support main, and a juno OTP, when i use my shift to run away from a winston, then my E to run from DVA, then winston is coming back and i cant do anything, sucks major fat ass.
I have not played the dmg role on 6v6 YET. Been playing support and tank off stream, and I am waiting for tomorrow to play dps on stream For now I got mixed feelings, tank feels more fun, support feels a lot more boring and static than in 5v5. Dps is where I will get my conclusions from. Idk what to expect aside from what you said here, and I will try and play it with as open of a mind as I can
Every role feels better Tank especially thiugh, there was so much pressure off of me, no solo tank, sleeps could hit my other tank instead of me, I could protect them and they could protect me. Zarya works so much better, Dva feels so much better, if not for the steer change Rein would too Edit: forgot about the cooldowns, they suck, all they need to do is nerf them and chop the cds
It should say a lot that, regardless of whatever balance patch they came out with for this, IT'S STILL SO MUCH MORE FUN THAN 5v5. It's absolutely ridiculous that they would continue to double down on this failed format.
I know people don’t like the season 9 changes but I can promise you it’s for the betterment of the game. Having more health pools means that they can have breakpoints be more specific. I’m just mad that the long range characters with mobility! Are able to be at 250. Hanzo and Ashe need to be at 225. I think that tanks can lose a lot of hp for better cds. Doom feels awkward but strong at 425 with 7 sec slam. He could’ve easily have been 375 with old cd’s.
if you ever see this would you ever bring up a topic that has to do with players in overwatch missing purchese cosmitics there isnt anyone talking about it but since season 13 and going into season 14 items has been vanishing like players never owned them i thougfht i was the ownly one who had it but i wasnt alone night ops sojourn skin is a big example of missing items starting to make me not wanna buy anything from the shop I lossed like 8 diffrent skins and cosmetics and I even have screen shots and video proof i owned these items and right into season 14 they all went missing right when the game got updated
Nah genji need the same things in 6v6 or 5v5, 27 is ok just give him 20% faster firerate and 90 ms projectile speed, 1 sec reload, 50% dash cd reduction when u don’t hit targets and 75% dmg reduction while dashing. And he is fine
I’ll say this. I’m already sick of getting absolutely nuked as a tank of I make even the slightest mistake. Then again I’ve been forced to play 5v5 for two years so I’m sure I just need more time to acclimate
Nah balance team are just clowns, no idea what they’re doing other than rein having decent stats. Ive played ball for 500+ hours and he is useless compared to original OW in this new 6 vs 6 I get shredded for existing not even hard diving just rolling through.
6v6 is infinitely better. All they need to do is get rid of the season 9 changes and it’ll be great. But honestly, this should’ve happened 2 years ago when pro players told the dev team during the beta that Overwatch feels terrible in the 5v5 format. Only took them 2 years and competition to finally listen to the playerbase.
The game is overcooked, you can fix it. But they don't want and don't care. Glad Marvel Rivals launched. Now they might start to care, but it's too late Edit: If I hear heal bot one more time, I'm gonna lose it. If you are focused on dealing damage then pick DPS, we did not have such a term in OW1, know why? Better players
6v6 is always better, BUT the DLC heroes; tanks in particular, are broken and over kitted. Dooms multi punch, Maugas leap slam stun, all of Havoc, Ram blocks damage reduction, Brigs entire existence. If Mauga can slam stun Monkey should too. Hanzo felt bad since everything has a movement ability making them a pain to hs. Leave it to the balance team to screw up again, nothing has improved since I quit playing this game 2 years ago. Rivals needs to optimize so I can play it without it crashing.
All the good feedback will be seen as a misunderstanding in blizzards eyes and they will double down on 5v5 and their trash game balance just like how they said how OW1 October patch which was the best state the game has ever been in was a misunderstanding and that players didn't know how the game works so we clearly didn't know what we were talking about.
guys do you see that? 2:54 that is raw footage of a tank dying in this game to a genji, a genji almost 2 tapped A TANK, you 5v5ers still think 6v6 isn't the way?
@ that is just not true, there is a ton of new players, the game is actually being updated compared to OW1 the game was basically dead back when queue times were an issue, now the queue times are good despite two game modes existing, 5v5 and 6v6 coexisting rn and queue times are stable for 6v6 at least, so no, if blizzard plays this well, they won’t be an issue and even then, the queue times are not an argument enough to excuse a horrible format existing
@@Daavel do you think all the new tank players ow2 has gathered will like playing a weaker version of a tank that has to rely on the other tank also being good and picking a synergy? i dont mind changing my playstyle since i started as a tank main in ow1, but i have a feeling lots of other new tanks will hate the role in 6v6.
@ i know every single tank player will love not being a solo person in their role, and have to rely on the enemy team to not pick mauga, or any other counter to the tank you’re playing, yes it is harder to play a weaker version of your tank character but thats why people will have to adjust and learn a bit that you can’t just go all in and expect to live, they’ll have to learn they are not super tanks anymore that are unkillable, and that is healthy for the game, dps can now kill tanks, supports have a chance against them, characters like ana get their identities back, and tank players will no longer have the constant pressure of having to play out of their minds just to have a damn chance at actually playing the game and win + will actually get the chance to actually play their character without the need to swap because someone picked mauga
@@Daavel not every ow2 tank hates their role you know? plenty are content with the 5v5 solo tank experience. so all im saying is that ow2 6v6 needs a surplus of tank players and i am not very optimistic. unless many ow1 tank mains come back to the game, which is unlikely.
This game is so fun right now haven't seen my sons and myself have so much fun getting Flamed on and flaming opposition I don't care about the patches just glad we got 6v6 woop woop
Let's talk about the 6v6 tests did right, wrong and what more can be done to help it out, I think the most obvious is to just get rid of this season 9 patch. Also guys I meant to say "Contest Tanks" not Contest DPS, early in the vid, lol.
To put it blunt and brief
This test had problems
5v5 has problems
But 6v6 is more fun and looks easily fixable solely on a balance view not fundamental flaw ie 1 tank in 5v5
Out of the two problem modes I’ll take 6v6 👍
Nah, 10v10 is the way (3 4 3).

@H4VOK_YT Doom in general feels terrible as a tank. They should’ve never made him a tank in the first place. Coming from a former DPS Doomfist main
Watching mauga get absolutely melted is always so funny. I don’t think I’ve seen a mauga win in 6v6
Yeah I agree, its insane that 6v6 is fun even despite the 6v6 patch notes being absolute dog shit
They did this patch so bad on purpose for sure, so they can say after this something like "see! 6v6 is bad! we told ya so!"
No stomp bullshit, just regualar dudes making heroic plays for each other
This!!!! It feels so good to be able to come back from a 5v6 fight because you clutch up. It feels like Overwatch again.
Better than 5v5, but would be way better without all the season 9+ changes.
The worst thing about this mode is everything added in OW2. Season 9 health pools, season 9 hitboxes, role passives, Genji being how he is now… Here is an example:
I get a dash combo on one of the supports, then pull out blade and slash/dash Brig who is now alone and get her to 1/4 or lower hp… she panic ults, instantly gets her bash back then bash/whips me, now I’m half hp and she is 3/4 and gaining… there is no chance to even try to get back to her to get the elim.

Its over. Just watch.
Say that again…
How often do I get wins? A ton.
My pen is big
6v6 is significantly better
100% more enjoyable than 5v5 for a myriad of reasons. After yesterday’s games, all I could think about in my last 2 hours at work was Overwatch. As someone who has been super frustrated with the state of 5v5 since S9 especially, this test couldn’t be more welcome!
Tank:
I have my second tank!
DPS:
DPS feels incredible.
Support:
Support gameplay actually doesn’t feel all that different to me. The main difference I find is that I consistently have a tank or DPS to peel for me if I need it. I still have ample opportunity to deal damage, and team fights depend far less on shoving heals up your tanks’ behinds than balanced usage between everyone on your team. It’s so much more exciting than 5v5!
General:
The DPS passive.
I love the Queen Mauga comp.
And i like how how Doom is because his name finally means Doom for the Red Team lol
I never played ow, so it took a bit of time to adjust myself as a tank and position better but when I got it my god it feels so good, so fucking good, the push or defense doesn't stop when one tank dies I had to actually stop myself from falling back and regrouping out of instinct, I love this.. This pulled me out of just playing rivals and I'm playing and loving both
Wrecking fist is my favorite comp ever it feels so good
love that tanks can actually die. i don't have damn bulletsponge raid boss in my face and can actually punish their bad position that 5 v 5 allows
Oh bruh I was literally thinking has Abby reviewed the 6v6 test yet and look literally 1 minute videos there lmao 😂
my friend whos started to play on overwatch 2 tried the 6v6 and she really likes it, immediately said how it feels much more fun than what we have live. and she mostly plays support on live, played tank in 6v6 and said it was just more fun.
Absolutely they need to make 6v6 permanent. Also i notice Widow is kept in check because of the extra tank on the field.
The Combo of bigger Health Pools AND the DPS Heroes still applying 15% anti heal to everyone causes Supps to be more healbott-y than in old OW1
I think they should revert S9 and see how it feels and if its still to healbott-y remove the 15% anti heal of DPS and buff them elsewhere
The 15% dps passive along with their extra health makes them play aggressively.
yea 6v6 for me was VERY fun
I don’t play more than a couple games a season since like season 6-7ish, I can’t wait to come back to the format that hooked me in the first place
I’ll never understand why widow and echo have the same hp in 6v6😔
Revert SE9 changes, and this game is in better shape than it has been since Overwatch 2 launch.
Actually, it already is.
6v6 is the way.
Also, hard agree on Sombra!
We played some 6v6 in internal scrims with my team, and I played Sombra with a heavy dive comp. Everyone is Master-GM, and I'm no Sombra player, but holy CRAP did we destroy their comp!
Wall of text incoming> okay, like i said some time ago i'm a OW2 season 6 player, i didn't play any 6v6 custom mode or OW1, i don't like 5v5 because i've played it, of course, and i just felt it was really bad and didn't reward me for playing with characters like Ball or tanks in general and after playing 6v6 i think it is just way better than 5v5 in every single way, yeah the patch is kinda...questionable as always but the gamemode itself is really really fun and even 3 days later just playing tank the majority of my games i still like it even when i lose, i do have some things to say from majority my experience alone and sometimes duo tank with my friend:
- OW2 Tanks in 6v6: i think almost all of them fit pretty nicely in 6v6, besides balance on some of them.
(tip: after playing him a lot and trying stuff, i found that you can keep wallclimbing on top of roofs infinitely, just don't tell blizzard 😉)
- Orisa is...just there sometimes, kinda boring as always but sure, maybe without the KB passive she can boop people on specific maps but that's it.
The 6v6 test is absurdly unbalanced but also genuinely better and more fun than anything 5v5 has ever given us.
I played 3 or 4 matches, I hate The balance, why are we still on big HP bars and no tank ult charge passive reset
The patch is no where near balanced absolutely, but when I say playing this mode and watching EVERYTHING die…. Was great…. Having a tank flank and then having a tank hold the front… is SO MUCH BETTER.
Time to kill is too high! It shouldn’t take ash 4 scoped body shots to kill a squishy!
6v6 is better but yeah the way they patched Ball for it makes no sense.
@Az00069 yea, it was good on the community game mode
I fr cannot be arsed with this shit anymore
They fucked Genji over 2 years ago, bro has no damage
Balance team not looking at moveset but looking at percentages, not even saying go to another game but Genji is dead whilst Alec Dawson is in charge and OW will continue to suffer with his team's judgement.
Genji is hard meta in pro play right now
@@LaughingBox2Bro Pro play isn't ranked
@@Vexity-n4n Genji is very good in ranked too. Look at top 500, genji is everywhere
In 6v6 he plays like pocket winston where he engages more frequently and leaves faster, but with the increased piledriver cooldown and lower health your rhythm is just so messed up and you literally AFK half the time
Dunno why they nerfed him so hard ;-; he didn’t even get buffs when ow 2 started he’s literally worse than he’s EVER been
@@Femboy_Grey i think they intentionally did this because ball metas often contribute very poor data
It's cause the s9 changes fucked over DPS.
Color me impressed when the Sigma I was with used kinetic grasp to completely change Mauga from a boring Tank 1v1 to an inherently team-reliant poke off-tank, and to top it off, I haven’t really considered Mauga to be oppressive.
yeah he fits in
Every mauga I see just rushes in and falls over instantly
the one aspect that infuriated me was the reverts to some tank changes, like pig pen, double shot m1, two fire strikes, rein steer, and ball shield share. it literally makes no sense to remove stuff from tank if they do not feel that oppressive in 6v6 anymore. hopefully they give them their new kits back. aside from that, playing tanks like winston, dva, ball feel amazing. hazard feels ok. supports need to focus on healing way more, leaving to frustration when playing dps. they focus too much on making sure the tanks dont die. dps feels much better overall imo, and support feels a little stressful if you focus too much on healing. if you focus on damage, support can be fun still. health regen should never be removed. it should remain forever.
I love to be the Kaiju monster in 5v5, however I would only play the new characters: mauga, ramatra, queen, etc, sometimes playing zarya, and I love playing these tanks
but nothing comes close to genji. I have 500 hours in DPS, and 600 on tank with well distributed on the tank roaster, while 400 of those DPS hours were on genji. he lost a lot of his charm on 5v5
instead of going in with the tank, or peeling for the support, you're mostly on your own. 6v6 made me play the genji I love: dash in, secure kills, and dash out. playing WITH the tanks feels great. I love having a pocket mercy who I can actually defend
another thing I love about 6v6 is the pace. it's slower and more team based, rather than a consistent free for all. It has the chill enjoyment I had that I missed from 5v5
for context, I don't play ranked, but I'm a diamond tank if we use quick play MMR (which is basically the same as ranked), plat dps and plat support
another thing is: your other tank tapping out and you defending him feels great.
Man i feel you, you can really tell the 6v6 tanks from the rest
Tbh this 6v6 is terrible ow2 6v6 is horrible. I think it’s just the new characters I miss my ow1 6v6 I miss the days before immortality Fields
Is it just me or is 6v6 more stable in how it balances itself out? Having another tank is another factor to bait out sustain cooldowns now rather than having one less in 5v5. And tanks have their ults and kit making more creative plays available for a wider range of situations.
Pylon is a strange thing to balance I think it should heal more but it only be live for 5 or seconds and just heal the lowest team member in its range
In the 6v6 custom mode they already found out that doom is just broken and they nerfed him hard, but he was still good. They found that out because the devs of the modes talked to the players.
I haven't played 5v5 since this event came out all 6v6
This is a good way to approach it!
If they can patch the shop skin prices in 1 week, they can launch this mode as comp. Especially since comp mystery heros existed at one point
Proverbs 4:26-27
"Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.
And even though I love 6v6, this is going to cause a big problem in 6v6 because no one is going to want to play and we already got few people playing that role already lol.
one tank combo i noticed was an issue is ram, sigma. double shield. ram in general. sigma plays like a better rein imo.
Sad thing is 6v6 will never happen because they said it in the blog
Doom Hog is actually not bad. I think It’s better then ball hog. Dooms AOE punch allows a good hog to feast.
I enjoyed it significantly more than 5v5 but it was still mostly frustrating so I went back to Rivals.
I hope if 6v6 returns it’s 200hp like in the community test code, way more fun than how the game feels post season9
Idk why they had to fuck up the cooldown cycles for tanks, dva, monkey feel so awkward to play
I think s9 did more damage to the game than 5v5.
Why do you like pig pen? I way prefer right click
You know my blistering hot take is he can genuinely have both and he will still be what he is now LOL
Idk why but it feels like he lacks choice in his kit@@AbbyOW2
5v5 flat earthers were gaslighting us
I think that 6v6 is equal with 5v5.
Granted, I haven't played much as much 5v5, because I've only started playing OW2 recently.
objectively false. Even the devs themselves acknowledged that 5v5 leads to much more steamrolls.
"the worst balance patch that 6v6 can have"
Saying this while goat and double shield, moth meta and launch overwatch patch exist is crazy, like this is just straight up a lie, this patch is better than all previous 6v6 patch
You get me?
@@hunchosett Yes, this is what I meant, not the Meta because right now there is no Meta comp.
6v6 is awesome, I’m gonna hate going back to 5v5.
my thoughts on the 6v6 test
I've played a lot of games, but not many characters. I'll do it like in the video
I'll start with
TANKS
I played a lot of classic tanks (Reinhardt, Zarya, Winston). (they already increased the cooldown, even if they don't want it to be so mobile, maybe it was worth lowering it by not 50 percent, maybe it's worth trying with 30 or 25)
It was interesting to experiment with new synergies; the following compositions seemed good to me: Winston + Hazard, Queen + Reinhardt, Reinhard + Ramatra looked good, Zarya + Ramatra, Queen + Hazard.
SUPPORTS
Among the supports, I only managed to touch Juno, Kiri and Brigitte.
(She heallbots often)
DPS
Overall, I have a positive impression regarding damage heroes.
Torb is kinda fun but man..)
and why also all hp pools are higher but dmg is lover than was before (genji`s and tracer`s)
Mb its me. but venture felt kinda op.
In general, 6v6 felt 10 times better to play than 5v5. Therefore, it is our duty to play and show the developers that we know what we are asking for.
PS: I don’t know how, but even when the queue for DPS showed 14 minutes, I found the game in less than a minute. I queued for all roles, and about 50 percent of the matches I was thrown into DPS.
how was venture op
@@xneticc I played one match, and it seemed to me that no one could catch me (we played Reinhardt + Zarya, and it seemed to me that with an additional tank there were more opportunities for creativity). It was fun to boop an enemy tank into my team to kill him together. Everyone also plays closer to each other, which makes the AOE abilities a little stronger. Surprisingly, Venture does a lot of damage to tanks.
At least that's what I thought. Still, these are early impressions.
Ball goes crazy. 140-2 across 5 games. Played with a zar duo
Imagine they do rework Wifeleaver, I personally would love if they kept the plant theme and pulled a little inspiration from Mantis in MR. No more pull or platform, give him a consumable power boost for him or his allies at very least.
uhhh lifeweavers have stupidly high heals now
I really have no idea why they thought keeping the S9 changes for 6v6 was a good idea
imo, its deff a skill issue but, as a support main, and a juno OTP, when i use my shift to run away from a winston, then my E to run from DVA, then winston is coming back and i cant do anything, sucks major fat ass.
I have not played the dmg role on 6v6 YET. Been playing support and tank off stream, and I am waiting for tomorrow to play dps on stream
For now I got mixed feelings, tank feels more fun, support feels a lot more boring and static than in 5v5.
Dps is where I will get my conclusions from.
Idk what to expect aside from what you said here, and I will try and play it with as open of a mind as I can
I notice the cooldowns for doomfist are mortal. Cannot disengage. 😢
Every role feels better
Tank especially thiugh, there was so much pressure off of me, no solo tank, sleeps could hit my other tank instead of me, I could protect them and they could protect me. Zarya works so much better, Dva feels so much better, if not for the steer change Rein would too
Edit: forgot about the cooldowns, they suck, all they need to do is nerf them and chop the cds
I don't know about better but it's definitely WAAAAAY more fun. 5v5 just feels sweaty and sucks any and all enjoyment out of the game.
I played ball and let me tell you it was amazing even when I was countered I felt like I could fight back
It should say a lot that, regardless of whatever balance patch they came out with for this, IT'S STILL SO MUCH MORE FUN THAN 5v5.
7 minute tank q, instant DPS q.
if you ever see this would you ever bring up a topic that has to do with players in overwatch missing purchese cosmitics there isnt anyone talking about it but since season 13 and going into season 14 items has been vanishing like players never owned them i thougfht i was the ownly one who had it but i wasnt alone night ops sojourn skin is a big example of missing items starting to make me not wanna buy anything from the shop I lossed like 8 diffrent skins and cosmetics and I even have screen shots and video proof i owned these items and right into season 14 they all went missing right when the game got updated
Only took them 2 years and competition to finally listen to the playerbase.
this is way more fun than 5v5 but they should revert the season 9 changes and it would be even better
why revert the s9 changes
How can Blizzard avoid it anymore. Change the game back to 6v6
The game is overcooked, you can fix it.
But they don't want and don't care.
Glad Marvel Rivals launched.
Now they might start to care, but it's too late
Edit: If I hear heal bot one more time, I'm gonna lose it.
I for sure exclusively play 6v6 then 5v5
guys do you see that? 2:54 that is raw footage of a tank dying in this game to a genji, a genji almost 2 tapped A TANK, you 5v5ers still think 6v6 isn't the way?
and thus tank players will quit, which leads to the same long queues ow1 had.
