Muffler and Resonator Delete on 2015 Volkswagen Jetta SE 1.8 T

- Here’s a video on getting the muffler and resonator removed from my car. You might be wondering why do this on an automatic car? Well it really just depends what engine your car has and because I wanted to give my car a new sound. It was also cheaper this way instead of buying a new exhaust which is more expensive. Anyways, hopefully you guys enjoyed this, stay safe, and keep vibing. ✌🏼

I did the same thing to my 2016 Jetta Sport 5 speed and it sounds amazing.
I recently got a 2016 jetta sport for my first car and hopefully I can add this one day, get black rims, performance chip, tint the brake lights, unchrome the front grille, and etc. great vid
That’s dope and yeah bro you do you. I have several things I want to add to my Jetta, but I’m broke 😂😭
if you dont mind saying how much is your monthly insurance
@@benbtw4386 I use to pay 180 when I had my vw Jetta
I also got a Jetta and I’m trying to see what I want to do first
@@timmyrivers7655 I have a 2016 1.8T once I got mine went ahead and bought these parts.
Cold air intake
Stage 1 tune
AWE track CATBACK exhaust
Boost gauge
Went from 170HP/181TQ to 270HP/300TQ for about $2000 100HP/119TQ gain.
Only thing I had to replace was the intake manifold due to the difference in boost pressure from stock to stage one. In the cold around 55 degrees Fahrenheit, I would get 10 psi max stock and for stage 1 I would peak around 21-22 psi but daily driving you’ll average 15-20 psi daily easy on stock turbo but once you do these modifications unfortunately if you want to go up in performance that’s where your going to need “healthy pockets” because the rods for our 1.8T can handle only about around 300 ft lb tq. If you do go bigger I would recommend the IS20 turbos that are on the GTI’s due to their size for the tiny engine we have. If you go any bigger than I will believe your engine will be very sluggish and not so fun because of the bigger turbos having to work at higher rpm’s. My power band on my Jetta is 3000 to 5750 rpm which is really a small window but it’s fun especially around corners and quick doing 0-60 in low 5’s which I say it’s worth it especially out of Jetta.
I love the ending
It has a usb input from being a yes, in which part is it in that I can't see it, thanks
Did any light come on is it better on gas
What it do to your fuel mileage?
I’m doing this to mine soon I’m excited
👌🏼
I got a E1 catback exhaust system touring edition for my Jetta and lemme tell you, it crackles real nice. I recommend it
I’ll definitely consider that, I’m planning to put an actual exhaust in the future!
@@lexx__fr what’s an actual exhaust
@@TaxationIsTheft439 his is basically just straight piped as of rn. a real exhaust would be ordering a performance exhaust such as a borla and replace it with that
Really like the video ...and the GTA ! . Did it make any of your lights on the dash go off ? How does it run
Thank you and it was such a funny clip I had to include it 😂 and well my car already had the check engine and headlights go off in the dash, but other than that no. And it runs normal, but it feels like I’m going fast when I’m actually going slow 😭😂
@@lexx__fr lol that’s funny but I’m debating doing it to my Jetta I just don’t want the light to come on but ima just do it the people I talked to said it should be good as long as my car is running fine
@@jasonnash1468 nahhh I don’t think any lights will pop up.
when they remove the muffler or resonator they replace with another or you have to buy one yourself then bring it in
For me, the guy just welded some pipes and put some shiny stainless steel pipe for the tip
you can either bring your own tips for them to put on but some shops have some to choose
Whatsvthebname of the song in the beginning?
I got a 2017 Passat with the 1.8 and I wanna do a mid resonator delete any advice
I’d say remove the rear muffler first and if you’re not satisfied then remove the mid resonator as well and hopefully you’ll get the sound you’re looking for
I was thinking of doing this too, I wanna add an exhaust to it too so it can sound clean and maybe can do pops
I wanna add an exhaust to mine too and it does pop at 4K RPM
how much does this cost?
The music in the background wanted to hear that sound
lmaoo! i just did this yesterday and it sounds so good
I got mine resonator deleted aswell and its getting much louder after 3-4000km because of the rvs has to burn in
I have the same car. What type of muffler did you get? So I can get the same one. Or what type of exhaust did you get? What are the cons of removing the muffler and resonator?
Cons, your neighbors might hate you in the mornings, cops well get annoyed with the noise too but it’s not illegal since it obviously doesn’t have a race track mode
Plan on doing mine tomorrow. Do you remember the diameter?
No I don’t, but have fun bro, when you drive off you’ll be pleased
So you did the back muffler and mid muffler?
My car only had 1 muffler on it which was the one on the back, the one in the middle is the resonator!
how is the drone when you drive? Like at 60 with windows up is there a drone(like can you hear a humm on the inside) or not really? not sure If I should only do muffler as I commute a lot or do Muffler and Resinator
Yeah there’s drone and I removed the muffler but i wasn’t satisfied with the sound so I removed the resonator as well.
@@lexx__fr good to know! I think im just going to start with the muffler and go from there
@@nickchristofora3417 yes start from there and if you don’t like the sound, I recommend that you delete the resonator
Thinking bout getting one for my daily
cool stuff
Do u know if a 2018 will be different or the same idk if mines a 1.4L or 1.8L
Check your owners manual and look for the cars specs, but it should be similar!
Is this a manual? If so would this sound similar on an automatic? I’m looking to do this to mine but not sure if it’s worth it
Nah it’s an automatic, there’s a plus and minus sign beside the drive sign that allows you to put it in manual mode except that there’s no clutch involved lol
Sounds good! Did your check engine light come on after?
Thanks bro! And well my check engine light was on already before I did the muffler delete, but don’t worry, I got it checked and it had nothing to do with the exhaust.
Really nice sound! It's 1.4T, 1.8T, or 2.0 N/A? Thanks
It’s a 1.8 T
what exactly did you get done? i want this done to my jetta
I deleted the muffler and resonator
So you just deleted both rear mufflers and left the cat and resonator on the stock dp? Sounds better then I expected.
I deleted the rear muffler and the resonator. My Jetta only had 1 muffler. And thanks
that’s what i did on my 14 passat and it sounds great
@@samshanahan1 is it worth it? Got the 2014 passat 1.8t and im hesitant to do it
@@Mr_inman do it….
@@lexx__fr im pretty sure you removed both mufflers, I have the same car and those are 2 different mufflers, your resonator is before the 2mufflers and your cat is hidden close to your turbo!
How long you had this car and what year is this car. And do you still have it
I’ve had it for almost a year and it’s a 2015 and yes I still have it
so they put a straight pipe in after they got rid of your muffler?
Yeah kinda, he had to bend the pipes for it to fit well
How much did it cost you to do everything?
Exactly $80
You think Jettas are reliable? I really want to Upgrade from my civic to a Jetta, but I’m not sure how Jetta’s are
Well my Jetta has been pretty reliable from the start. I’ve had mine for about 3 years now and it hasn’t ran into any major issues. I’d say go for it if your civic isn’t so reliable anymore.
love it i have one and so do my siblings
ea888 engine is nearly bulletproof, except for bad intake buildup in some cases. also i dont like the time it takes for revs to drop in the manual but it does help save the clutch so, tradeoffs. I would also complain about the build quality of the door panels, they rattle like crazy. not what vw's used to be, at least when built in germany. But 36-40mpg getting to work and 0-60 in about 6.5 seconds is good enough for me.
great video man, how much did it cost to do the muffler and resonator delete?
$80
@@lexx__fr wow, where did you get it done
Does it pop when you up shuft
Yeah when the RPM is at 4K
Hi can you do more videos about the jetta great cars
Do you have stage 2 and downpipe? Sorry if you told us I was watching while doing stuff
No, but that’s exactly what I want to add to my Jetta, but it’s pretty expensive
@@lexx__fr it's totally worth it man!
@@pissywilly do you have that installed in yours??
@@lexx__fr yeah downpipe, cai, stage 2 eurodyne, rs7 plugs and I run 93 octane. I have a roar pedal on the way because of the throttle lag.
@@pissywilly luckyyyy, imma try to save and maybe buy a down pipe in the future
So how many mufflers does it have? I’m looking to get my muffler and resonator taken off but I don’t know how many mufflers there are
On mine it had one so I think your Jetta should have 1 as well!
Should I straight pipe mine or do the same thing u did?
Mine is straight piped so maybe do the same thing
@@lexx__fr I mean what’s the difference between straight pipe and muffler delete and resonator
@@Thehomieslifestyle it’s kinda similar actually, the guy just used pipes and bent them, to me it kinda seems like a straight pipe, but it still gives a good sound!
Nice
is removing your muffler and resonator equivalent to straight piping it ?
Yeah pretty much 😂 but eventually I had the resonator put back because the sound was annoying on the inside, it made it just a little quieter, but it still sounds good and loud enough.
@@lexx__fr but at first you werent satisfied right ? maybe it got better thoughout time idk lol idk much about cars nice vid tho
@@GOYABEANzz yeah when he removed the muffler, it wasn’t loud at all sound I removed the resonator as well
@@lexx__fr but you said put the resonator back? so you ended up like in the first drive-off in the video ?
Thank y’all for 1k views!! Didn’t expect for this video to get this many views! ✊🏼 *edit: should I do an update video? Let me know!
What tip did you put in it?
On
@@mysticmayhem7635 I honestly don’t know, the man pulled out this stainless steel pipe and welded it on
Did you have any check engine light issues from removing both?
@@brandonsteuer1830 No
Only 80 for the muffler and resonator delete??😳might go ahead and get it done😂
where would you go to get a muffler delete
At a muffler shop
@@lexx__fr did you get both mufflers deleted and the resonator or only 1 muffler and the resonator
@@mikiastamrat287 my Jetta only had 1 muffler so yeah I had 1 muffler removed and the resonator as well.
Will it still pass smog?
Yes
Can’t hear it at all at first. Yeah always go with taking res out never muffler
What engine is your Jetta
TSI 1.8 T
I have deleted resonator and muffler jetta 2016 1.4 tsi. Not good overall experience sounds good but it makes car slow when you stop 🛑 at red light
I haven’t really experienced that tbh, maybe I haven’t noticed, but it’s been like a year now and I love riding in my Jetta lol
@@lexx__fr which air intake do you have cold or just normal stock paper filter.
@@ankitchoudhary7292 I have the stock 💀 I’ve been looking into getting one, but I haven’t been too invested into my car lately. It would be nice if I did get one tho.
how much did it all cost you
$80
how much did this cost you
$80 at the time, but prices might be higher now
Shoulda just deleted the whole exhaust after the headers lol!

My local shop is quoting me $240 for resonator and muffler delete 🧐
That’s wayyy too much bro

Imagine skipping school
Who could do that
It sounds like dsg
Pretty much
Quiet for a muffler delete, must be because it's turbocharged
Yeah it is turbo charged, but it really want that quiet at the time. Now it kinda is since I put back a resonator pipe due to drone issues. 😂
@@lexx__fr haha cool
A cat delete will make it sound nicer hehe
Traffic police [licks lips] look at this guy.. Let's stop him
lmao, here in AL, i haven't been stopped by any law enforcement
Wow. That’s less than impressive.
you removed it? more like your daddy removed it lol
Blah- blah- black mayo!!!
