Have no idea how you gave the first three to Yarde. He was eating that jab the entire night. Kovalev fought like a champion and came back like a champion. Great effort by Yarde though
You gave Yarde the first 3 rounds? Wtf! Kovalev outboxed and schooled Yarde for 90% of the fight apart from the moment when Kovalev was gassed and Yarde couldn't finish him. Yarde is flat footed, a Mayweather wanabe defence but a crapper version because Kovalev's left hand kept kissing Yarde. If you didn't see that you need to go Specsavers as a matter of urgency
Very impressive Jab, feinting, 1-2-1, backward movement and accuracy from Kovalev. Future hall of famer. Yarde is very good but It's one thing to be confident and another thing to act like facing an elite fighter is a walk in the park.
Ironfist Yes you get it. The Kova signature 1-2-1 was in effect. Yarde did well when they both got tired by walking through the jab with high guard and winging in the left hook to the body. But after that he was done.
Why would he need to wake him up if yard was being outclassed?things have to be really bad for u to be threatening to pull ur fighter out just to wake them up don't u think
This experience will improve Yarde immensely. He was one or two shots away from finishing Kovalev in the 8th. The knockout wasn't a jab alone, Yarde took really solid shots in the 9th 10th and 11th and the cumulative effect and exhaustion was the reason he stayed down. Within 2/3 years I think Yarde can win a world title. He hasn't had many total competitive fights and none against this kind of opposition. He should have earned all of your respect people!
kovalev did look old, 3/4 years ago he would of smoked yarde comfortably, he will cash out with the saul alvarez fight. i'm not sold on yarde yet, big heart yes but the fact he lasted to the 11th was more down to kovalev not being the force he once was. beterbiev, gvozdyk, bivol all beat yarde.......yarde vs callum johnson would be interesting
you really think buddy mcgirt was gonna stop the fight in kovalevs hometown against an unknown? lol it was clearly a psychological slap around the face fom mcgirt and was never gonna happen, and worked a treat kovalev boxed brilliantly in that 9th
This begs the question - why did they hold Yarde back for so long? I assumed it was because he had a glass chin, but that's evidently not the case on tonights evidence. With a gradual progression through the levels maybe he would have been more prepared for this level
Hmm good question - my main thought was that Yarde had no punch resistance either but he clealey has.. Maybe it's been hard for them to get fights? I know Alvarez came out n said he offered him money but I don't blame yarde for taking this instead.
I only gave Yarde 3 rounds in the fight I think. He wasn't outclassed though but he was outboxed. He showed a lot of heart, showed a good chin and he showed that he has real genuine power at the top level. He just punched himself out by swinging for the fences when he hurt him but at least he left it all in there and won't be saying what if. A lot of good things to take away and he belongs at that level but some things to work on too.
Yarde didn’t win the 1st-3rd rounds. Kovalev is a old man compared to the youthful fighters there are out there. He’ll get taken out in his next competitive fight or 2.
I'm seeing a LOT of comments that really aren't taking into account how little experience Yarde had both professionally AND amateur prior to this fight. Gotta give him credit for the effort but I think we all knew this was too soon. Did himself proud and showed huge heart but Kovalev is just the next level to Yarde and it's really that simple!!
Richard Repper frank too mate, he’s still young and probably should have gone the traditional route but credit where credits due to go to Russia and try to take the belt. Not a bad showing, especially the 8th factoring in who he’s fought before imo
Richard Repper okay maybe young was the wrong wording but 29 is still youngish in boxing. I’m talking more about the fact he had 12 amateur fights and 18 pro prior to this fight. When put into context then fighting Kovalev that’s a baptism of fire for a pro with much more pedigree is more my point, so young maybe not, inexperienced definitely. Defo mate, as of now we don’t even know if he’s the best light heavy in Britain let alone world level. Before tonight I thought Buatsi would steam roll him now I’m not so sure. Agree on the shoulder roll but experience and time served will help his skill set too. All I’m trying to say is considering he’d had 30 fights amateur and pro he did well against a very seasoned vet who most predicted would stop him early 👍🏻🥊🥊
Jesus, think everyone getting ahead of themselves here and terrible scoring from Hatman. Yarde won one round - the eight - and apart from that, he took a boxing lesson. Showed great chin, heart and power to hurt Kovalev but Kovalev boxing ability was on another level. That wasn’t a close fight
Yard reminds me of a bigger eubank jr .. looks dangerous as hell in range letting everything go in the pocket but the jab was non existent and once he threw the kitchen sink at kovalev and couldnt get him out he was done
I just stopped the video at 2 minutes... You gave the first 3 rounds to yarde?? Even the famously biased bt sport had kovalev 5/6-0 up at one point, I'm not sure how you thought he won the first 3. The second at the very kindest, but he was just eating jab after jab and landing so rarely? I'll continue with the video but if that's setting the tone then I think we saw wildly different fights. I was urging Anthony's team to throw the towel in at end of the ninth. He took so many unanswered punches the entire fight, he literally defended so much of it with his face.
I listened to the rest and as a guy who picked yarde to win by ko and with the greatest of respects hatman, I think you should watch this fight again, in the cold light of day, as you say. (and I probably should too!) This fight was not close, I gave Yarde 2 rounds, maybe 3 if I'm being kind. To me, he just followed kovalev around for very long stretches of the second half, eating so many jabs. He had no answer to it whatsoever, he was incredibly brave and courageous but I'm not sure how you can say he's world level. He had kovalev out of there in the 8th round for sure, however I'd argue this exact same circumstance would have arisen if Yarde had fought him at any point in his career so far. It was just a result of being heavy handed, explosive and eventually landing on a very tired target.
Yarde is an absolute monster but Frank and Tunde failed him. Yarde was complaining in the corner between rounds saying it was getting too hard. He got outboxed then battered then decapitated. Serious deficiencies in his game which could have been discovered in a real learning fight were the cause of him getting knocked out. Frank and Tunde should be called out on that
Yarde done really well but won 3 rounds max. Tunde hasn't taught Yarde how to defend against a jab!! If they had stepped him up correctly and gained the right experience he could have beaten Kovalev. Tunde is still a joker.
Yarde winning the first 3 rounds? I’m glad you’re not a judge. Rounds 5 and 8 were Yarde rounds, perhaps 7 also, which was back and forth. The jab was the key punch for Kov, he peppered Yarde with it all night, it was a courageous performance from Yarde, I think he tried his heart out, but seemed that he wasn’t polished enough and needed more experience. I think in the future Yarde could be a world champion, as for Kovalev maybe years of beatings have drained his resistance, Canelo will KO Kov within 8 rounds by good head movement and body work.
Rubbish. For the first time in a long time you are way off hatman. You are mistaking courage & resolve for effectiveness. Yarde won 2 rounds and was soundly beaten by a 36 yr old way past his best. Yarde has NOT proved hes works class what a load of shite!!!! Let him beat the best of england & Europe first. Seriously over rating him. More lion cub in the camp im afraid.
I personally gave pretty much every round to Kovalev apart from the 8th....nonetheless he showed a great chin and put in a respectable effort. However, I do feel that he could have been brought along much better and fought good domestic level fighters before jumping to world level!
As you say, a ton of positives to take from this fight for Yarde. What Yarde will have learned from this experience is priceless. It was too soon to put him up against a very ageing , but still world class Kovalev. What we do know now is this young lion has what it takes to mix it with best, and now with this experience under his belt, and some work on his stamina, Yarde can well be a world champion in the next 18 months.
Have to say I'm surprised you had Yarde winning so many rounds. I gave Yarde rounds 3, 7 and obviously the 8th. Other than that I had Kovalev winning every other round. Good performance though from Yarde and a bit more gas in the tank in the 8th would have had Kovalev down.
This is the first video you made which is below your usual high level of analysis. Sorry to say it, but this is more of a fanboy video. Yarde didn't win the first 3 rounds. Also only one of the judges had had him winning 1 of the first 3. The other 2 judges had Kov winning all the first 3 rounds. Yarde world class? Only Yarde his heart and pride are world class. Yarde has no jab (landed only 10%), he is flat footed, has no rhythm, moves robotic, doesn't cut off the ring and cannot do a proper shoulder roll. To sum it up: he lacks boxing fundamentals. Tunde is crap, he never took any fighter to a world or European title. No sparring for Yarde...which world champion doesn't spar for fights? Why didn't Tunde pull Yarde out after the 10th? Yarde looked like Jeff Lacy fighting Calzaghe. And we all know that his career at the highest level was over that night. Go watch the fight again tomorrow and make a follow up video ;)
I think your wrong about Yarde winning the first 3 rounds. He didn't throw enough and Kovalev's jab won them. I couldn't give Yarde more than 3 rounds in total max although I gave him a 10-8 in the 8th. He answered loads of questions though with regards to his capabilities. He didn't have the best timing or distance control at times. If he had a little more tonight he would've took Kovalev out in the 8th. Just fell short but if he addresses head movement, stamina and gets his output up he can have some great fights at world level.
All you clowns hating on Yarde man, give the fucking kid a break!! 28 years old Hand full of fights First World title fight First time fighting in a foreign country First time fighting at elite level And he still gave it 110%, never quit and showed the heart n courage of a warrior. You've got "legends" like Amir Khan QUITTING against opposition like this! Go hate on him you bunch of goofs!! Well done Yarde! Hold your head high young brother 👊 We've got
@Valkyries SS klitschko was still fighting at heavyweight at 40 years old and nearly beat AJ, so I'd say a 28 year old light-heavyweight is still pretty fresh - you absolute fucking melt 😂 stick to playing with your barbie dolls you casual little prick.
I'd like to see yarde get away from that Philly shell, shoulder roll and implement a style that will allow him to use his explosives. He should adopt a David haye ambush style
i was keeping score from first 9 rounds and I had it 8-1, and I think yarde only won that round because kovalev was tiring but then the 2nd wind kicked in... I just don't think yarde is a world level performer who would be even more exposed against a fresher fighter, kovalev is not a top fighter anymore hes an old man.
I wish Yarde had gone to the body constantly, early. When he did that in the 8th Kovalev could not take it. Instead Yarde was mostly looking for left hooks and right hands to the head, looking for the occasional opportunities to the body. And no inside fighting. Then he was gassed after the big 8th round effort. Ajayi should have had that as the primary strategy. Anyway, Yarde did really well in all areas except strategy.
Maybe I'm getting old but I loved the early fight time for UK. Proper exciting fight. Work that defence and come again Yarde. Look forward to a Buatsi PPV next year. Yeah right.
Plus walking down Kovalev... he took little damage when he walked him down with his guard up... Ward said it in the commentary Kovalev is "suprisingly weak" and easily pushed & shoved. I think when he gassed himself punching his mistake was 1) switching to headhunting 2) totally forgetting about how incredibly effective the body punching was.
Every video of chatman always have the sneak Diss of wilder and alhaymond, believe me check him every video everybody 😂( he can't help himself he's obsessed with wilder n haymond )
I don't agree: Yarde didn't do 'fantastically well". He was broken down and exposed. The 8th round showed how little he had mentally, when he went headhunting instead of investing in the body shots. In the lead up to this fight, we all knew Kov was vulnerable to good body shots...how many did Anthony throw? How many 1-2's that missed? How many times did he walk into a stiff jab to the face...and not change his strategy? To be sure, Anthony is a talent...that Frank Warren threw to the lions.
Most didn't. i watched the BT bnroadcast, they didnt give Yarde a round either until the 8th. I did think it was a competitive fight, but competitive isn't always synonymous with close on the cards.
People were saying Yarde is going to win because Kovalev is 36 years old. Now Yarde is suddenly inexperienced and protected. Good performance by the krusher he proved a lot of people wrong.
Kovalev is well passed it. Yarde and Tunde thought they had the timing down perfect which to be fair they did but Yarde never had enough to see it through despite a game effort. Canelo, Bivol, Beterbiev and Gvodzyk will stop this old Kovalev and Yarde is gonna have to go back to the drawing board and try again but I don't see him being a top level. As far as rounds go Yarde won 2 maybe 3 at most despite that he was dominated
Yarde is good, no doubt about it. But honestly I didn't give him any rounds apart from the eighth maybe. I have to watch the fight again to score it carefully to be sure but Kovalev's accuracy was great. McGirt is probably still shocked by the death of Dadashev that's why he probably was anxious. Yarde has a great chance to become a world champion in the future.
malakai moodie You can’t argue with any boxing “fans”. The most unreasonable and imbalanced views of any sport. It’s a shame too because the sport is great and the real fans are intelligent, impartial and knowledgeable.
Anderl Blakely when did I even mention Dillian Whyte lol? Yeah I want to know where his B sample is too it’s gone really quite. You don’t know if he has taken steroids and if he has he should be banned! Also I didn’t even mention Wilder but I will now. He didn’t care that Ortiz failed multiple tests and faced him anyway? Which was a really good fight and I’m looking forward to the next one 8 just wish it wasn’t in December so far away.
Anderl Blakely great response you can’t come back with any logic or critical thinking so it’s just easy for you to slur out childish insults to cover you’re own pathetic insecurities and severe lack of intelligence you beta male.
Yarde didn't win the 1st 3 rounds, stop it Hatman. Buddy McGirt only threatened to pull Kovalev out because he knew that's what he needed to hear psychologically to make him dig deep and show his true world level skills.
hatman he got his head jabbed off all night mate what are you on about lol his face looked like a pillow case, kovalev was in trouble as much down to him deflating like a balloon in the 8th, were was yarde in the 9th? he got dominated you fool
you do realise Kovalev has had as many world title fights as Yarde's had fights both amateur and pro, wtf did you expect??? At least 90% of people said Kovalev would run through Yarde in less than 5, yet you fail to give him any credit for seeing the 11th?? Get a grip dude!!!!
Beterbiev is his best chance because he's slower and more stationary...but if he gets caught he will.go down .....he could hurt gvodzyk to the body and break him down but that man has good footwork and a nice jab it will be similar to the kovalev fight ...bivol I think would ice him within 10 rounds he seems the most compete to me out of the 3
Not sure if Yarde's got worldclass skillset. He's certainly got a competent skillset but most of that skillset is underpinned by his excellent athletic ability and not through his learned technical tools. He lacks a worldclass jab, he lacks worldclass stamina and his philly shell will not protect his chin at world level. All these can be worked on though and then he truly will be an operator of note.
Yarde won two rounds max Very good 8th and nearly got him out of there, he will kick himself for not coming out heavy in the 9th Kov broke him up with the jab
He was soundly outboxed with one good stand out round from what I saw. He looked alot slower than iv ever seen him so not sure what you saw hatman. Will rewatch sober lol he had a few fast bursts but like once every round or so.
Why are you dragging Wilder into this? You're building strawman arguments, just to throw blows at Wilder. IT WAS ANDRE WARD who made the comparison between Yarde and AJ..... did you not watch the fight? Imo, Yarde proved to have much better stamina and chin than AJ.
This guy talking on the video saw a completely different fight from me Yarde lost the first 4 rounds he was getting out jabbed rd 7&8 was yardes.. Kovalev showed that he is top level surviving that 8th rd yarde has no stamina and runs out of idea's but that's his limited training from his trainer... But this guy talking on the video I hope he never becomes a boxing judge the way he called this fight is way off
I agree I gave yarde the 7th and the 8th he did nothing else the whole fight his mouth was open by the third round he got hit constantly the jabs weren't missing not impressed
Hatman, you’ve done something you rarely do - show bias. Baring the 8th, that was a one sided boxing lesson. And MCGIrt threatening to pull him out was ridiculous as seen by what happened in the end. Sure, Kovalev was definitely hurt but he never went down. Of course, Yard did great but pump the brakes. That was a 10 rounds to 1 fight
no you were just listening to the uk commentators actually watch the fight yarde was boxing very well early commentators were ignoring all his gd work early
tibaro1234567 I agree. Kovalev established his jab from the opening bell and was controlling everything behind it. For me, Yarde didn’t get a toehold in the fight until the fourth round and he only won the seventh and eighth round on my card. Yes, Yarde proved he had a chin and showed heart and determination, but he was thoroughly outboxed and broken down. The big round eight felt like a last throw of the dice to me... And it almost worked. But I thought Kovalev looked comfortable for long stretches of the fight. The final KO was inevitable.
This fight was not close, yes Yarde had a chance in 8th but he didn't even score a knockdown when he had Kovalev on ropes and went all in. Kovalev is old and drained and he won comfortably. I don't why you hype Yarde so much, he cant beat Bivol, Gvozdyk or Beterbiev, hes not even close, to me Kovalev is the weakest Champion atm and he took a crap on Yarde.
For Yarde to put in a performance like that without any real sparring or in-fight experience with decent level fighters is exception, yet frustrating. Who knows what he could do if he was built up like a Matchroom fighter. Great atmosphere in the fight.. Kovalev needs Canelo cash out fight...
Props to Yard! Boy got heart! he kept pushing forward and throwing back at Kov, I'm now a huge fan of both fighters. They really put in a great fight tonight.🥊🥊🥊👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Didn't have Yard winning the first 3 but apart from that I agree with everything else especially the knockdown, Yarde had given everything. At the time I thought any half decent punch is going to finished him. Great performance and a great fight.
Well done Hatman for highlighting how momentus of a performance AY put up with such a ridiculous disparity in experience vs an Elite lvl champion. Hopefully onward and upwards from here, gradual and steady but into contendor status fights atleast this time. Yard proved he's very dangerous and on par with world lvl. However steadiness instead of slow progression then leaps will do Yard eons of good. This type of fight may make Yard ridiculous to deal with if he continues to refine with good step ups.
Great fight, I watched it with the sound off and here are my thoughts. Kovalev dominated this fight with exception to round 8. Yarde should for now be proud and positive following his performance tonight. He demonstrated a skill not many people Aquire in their careers, the ability to be so calm and cool under pressure, taking the fight to the champions home town. He also demonstrated imposing physical strength at this weight, something to be feared in the future. His downfall inevitably was the lack of experience to know when to impose himself, switch game plans and in defence. His defence for me was terrible. He was eating jabs all night long and needs complete restructuring. Kovalev impressed me with his grit. I was expecting him to break down and give up had he of been hit. But he did not, he rose above. His jab is great and has underestimated ring IQ, as well as being an accurate shot. Downfall is I believe his ability to take a punch is fading quickly. And I really believe he is there for the taking. His stamina is questionable too. Today he faded by rounds 7/8 which is where Yarde had his breakthrough. Had that have been Canelo in there against Kovalev, I’d be picking Canelo all day the win. Good win for Kovalevs career though. Much like Mayweathers win over Canelo it came at a premature time in Canelo/Yardes careers, yet will look better and better the more that Canelo/Yarde improve and take over. That all said. I think i see more potential right now in Joshua Buatsi to be the new force of this division.
Hatman you are DELUDED man! Giving Yarde way too much praise. At the end of the day Yarde was DOMINATED by Kovalev for almost every round (except for round 8) and then KO'd late in the 11th. Yarde was getting tagged all night to the head and the body and that is why he got tired. Stop excusing Yarde's tiredness for being inexperienced. As for round 8, I believe it was Kovalev's fault more than the skill of Yarde that put Kovalev in all sorts of trouble. Leading up to round 8, Yarde lost every round and in the 8th, Tunde told Yarde to go for the KO. Yarde started walking down Kovalev and Kova made the mistake of standing in front of Yarde (with his hands down) and started trading with him. Instead Kovalev should have stepped back and jabbed Yarde to keep him at bay and Kovalev would won a comfortable unanimous decision.
Yarde's team have done him a disservice. Tactically Tunde was useless. Both before the fight and in the corner when Yarde needed him the most! Why Yarde was fighting on the outside, to Kov's strengths is beyond me. Soon as he went to the body the fight started to turn in Yarde's favour, but he was gassed by then. Also no sparring?! Nah man, that needs to change if Yarde is to ever fulfil his potential.
Well said sir yarde needs to sparr different styles and fighters all pros say the hardest part is the hard and awful training if yardes not getting this then he will never really h his true potential of what I feel could be a great champion. X
Have no idea how you gave the first three to Yarde. He was eating that jab the entire night. Kovalev fought like a champion and came back like a champion. Great effort by Yarde though
18 jabs in total for Yarde to 115 for Kovalev. Thats the story here.
Agreed,
You gave Yarde the first 3 rounds? Wtf! Kovalev outboxed and schooled Yarde for 90% of the fight apart from the moment when Kovalev was gassed and Yarde couldn't finish him. Callum Johnson would get smoked in 4/ 5 rounds
Hatman very emotional which is brilliant to hear, reminded me of when Tyson Fury beat Klitschko
Gave Yarde first three? To quote you Hatman “what brand of crack are you smoking?!”
Yeah I know mate. Literally had to go back and watch it again to make sure I'd heard what I thought I'd heard.
you really think buddy mcgirt was gonna stop the fight in kovalevs hometown against an unknown? lol it was clearly a psychological slap around the face fom mcgirt and was never gonna happen, and worked a treat kovalev boxed brilliantly in that 9th
Yarde winning the first 3 rounds???? Wtf hatman is joking right....yarde won 2 rounds whole fight
*1 round
@@abaddontheannihilator8144 I had yarde winning 7th and 8th
You gave him the first three rounds? What was you doing snorting mdma whilst watching this? You are supposed to be a boxing guy. That’s atrocious.
Messed up! 😁
You never met an England football fan, has far has their concerned England beats everyone! 😂😂😂 Round 8 will be talked about for Ever.
@@SA77888 I hope he doesn't dwell on it though! And can iron out all the bad spots, they say a good loss is one that you can learn from!.

Broner and Yarde are perfect examples of how not to use the shoulder roll technique.
Where’s spencer the “knowledge” now ?? 😂
he'll probably pull the race card, Yarde lost because he's black lol
Yarde had a massive 8th round, nothing else. He was wrecked tired at the end of the 11th. He lost every round before that. He'll go again.
Definitely did not win the first 3 rounds
Yeah buddy he did
Wasn’t nice seeing Anthony yarde get koed. All credit for him for taking this fight backing yarde to the fullest
Yarde didn’t win the 1st-3rd rounds. Kovalev is a old man compared to the youthful fighters there are out there. He’ll get taken out in his next competitive fight or 2.
Yeah, I can't imagine Yarde being getting away with some of that against sharper people like Bivol, Benavídez or Ramírez...
What Hatman is trying to say is "Close, but no cigar!"
How you gave yarde the first 3 rounds is crazy
I gave Kovalev 7 rounds of the first 8. Many deluded Yarde fanboys...lol

I hope that Yarde is ok,on this performance he can really improve his stamina and become a champion..

also didn't have the legs/footwork to chase sergei around. HAS to have his feet set.

Kovalev seemed to struggle with the speed of Yarde for the first 4 rounds. It was a nip and tuck thing.
I listened to the rest and as a guy who picked yarde to win by ko and with the greatest of respects hatman, I think you should watch this fight again, in the cold light of day, as you say. He had kovalev out of there in the 8th round for sure, however I'd argue this exact same circumstance would have arisen if Yarde had fought him at any point in his career so far. It was just a result of being heavy handed, explosive and eventually landing on a very tired target.
Bt love kovalev
Yarde got out boxed by an old aging fighter. Thats a fact. What we did learn yarde can take a shot
You gave yard the first 3 rounds?
Hussein Faraj not sure Canelo can do it. Kov too big & rangy for Canelo
Go watch it again,he didn't win the first 3 rounds.u must be smoking something
No, he's just stupid.
What a superb fight. My respect for Yarde has gone up tremendously, can’t believe how close he was to stopping Kovalev in the 8th round. Madness!
YARD winning SECOND ROUND? CRAZY 😝
Sorry Hatman but you’re not showing enough respect to 36 Kovalev here
This is the first video you made which is below your usual high level of analysis.
28 years old
Hand full of fights
First World title fight
First time fighting in a foreign country
First time fighting at elite level
And he still gave it 110%, never quit and showed the heart n courage of a warrior.
You've got "legends" like Amir Khan QUITTING against opposition like this! Go hate on him you bunch of goofs!!
Well done Yarde! Hold your head high young brother 👊
We've got
@Valkyries SS klitschko was still fighting at heavyweight at 40 years old and nearly beat AJ, so I'd say a 28 year old light-heavyweight is still pretty fresh - you absolute fucking melt 😂 stick to playing with your barbie dolls you casual little prick.
Are you crazy how did you score all the first 3 to Yarde, I had Kovalev 6-0 up
Amen!!! That's just his UK bias.....
I had Yarde winning the 3rd and the 8th
Hatman what Your score cards looked like please Let is know ????
Especially since you gave Yarde first 3 rounds
Would like to see Yarde fight Hosea Burton next, would be a good comeback fight
harry parker not saying that Burton is shiite, but I felt that has already fought the Hungarian/Polish versions of Burton
Yarde was inches from achieving greatness now has to dust off and come again with new found experience..
I'd like to see yarde get away from that Philly shell, shoulder roll and implement a style that will allow him to use his explosives. He should adopt a David haye ambush style
Wouldn't call it a thriller good fight but one sided apart from the 8th
First 6 rounds were very uneventful, kov using his jab nicking rounds. Second half changed due to fatigue.
i was keeping score from first 9 rounds and I had it 8-1, and I think yarde only won that round because kovalev was tiring but then the 2nd wind kicked in...
Yarde was outboxed and beaten up be real. Yea he almost ko'd kovalev but that was his last stand
Maybe I'm getting old but I loved the early fight time for UK. Proper exciting fight. Work that defence and come again Yarde. Look forward to a Buatsi PPV next year. Yeah right.
Yard won 2 rounds and went for a punchers chance in the 8th and failed and then got owned
I knew that Yarde was way over his head.
Thank you Kovalev 4 killing the Hype.
Much Love
xD
hype hasn't been killed
Yessir
Thank you kovalev? Hmm 🤔 I sense your very jealous of Mr yarde 😂
The key was the body shots but it took him 7 rounds to figure it out.
You edited the comment but still have "haymond" 😂
Hatman what was your score card going into 11 th ??????????????
Especially since you scored first 3 for Yarde
Not sure how you had Yarde winning first 3 rounds but he showed massive heart and dug deep inexperience showed
Exactly. I gave him one round. Maybe a share of the first.
Agree buddy
I didn't give Yarde any of the first 6 rounds.
Matt Bar agreed
Superior No1 read a book
Superior No1 kov days are numbered and history backs me up on this
Kovalev is well passed it.
You can’t argue with deontay wilder fans honestly you can show fact after fact they’ll ignore
It’s like when Wilders brother failed a drug test. All I can see them say is “no he didn’t” lol
@Anderl Blakely👏
malakai moodie
You can’t argue with any boxing “fans”.
What do you realy thing will happen with Yarde if he is going to fight Dmitry Bivol, Oleksandr Gvozdyk or Artur Beterbiev? LOL
Beterbiev is his best chance because he's slower and more stationary...but if he gets caught he will.go down .....he could hurt gvodzyk to the body and break him down but that man has good footwork and a nice jab it will be similar to the kovalev fight ...bivol I think would ice him within 10 rounds he seems the most compete to me out of the 3
@Ben Layers I don't think he would beat any of them personally
Yarde won the first three rounds? Hatman what fight were you watching?
Jawad Hussain I believe Hatman must have been smoking Crack! During that fight.
You don't get Legends like Frank Bruno and Henry Cooper if we don't have Ali and Mike Tyson! 😂
Where was his jab, no jab and yardes cardio isn't good enough, even for kovalev whos old and never had the biggest engine.
Yarde won two rounds max
Very good 8th and nearly got him out of there, he will kick himself for not coming out heavy in the 9th
Kov broke him up with the jab
Respect to Yarde ! Great fight. However Krueger has the Best jab in the business at right now even at his age !!
Krusher still Got it
was a mistake not to take the step a side money
He was soundly outboxed with one good stand out round from what I saw. He looked alot slower than iv ever seen him so not sure what you saw hatman. Will rewatch sober lol he had a few fast bursts but like once every round or so.
Why are you dragging Wilder into this? You're building strawman arguments, just to throw blows at Wilder. IT WAS ANDRE WARD who made the comparison between Yarde and AJ..... did you not watch the fight?
Imo, Yarde proved to have much better stamina and chin than AJ.
This is a very good true reflection summary of the fight. The kid did outstandingly well and he will be back.
I don't think Yarde won the first two rounds....
@k s Same bro
This guy talking on the video saw a completely different fight from me
Yarde lost the first 4 rounds he was getting out jabbed rd 7&8 was yardes.. Kovalev showed that he is top level surviving that 8th rd yarde has no stamina and runs out of idea's but that's his limited training from his trainer... But this guy talking on the video I hope he never becomes a boxing judge the way he called this fight is way off
I agree I gave yarde the 7th and the 8th he did nothing else the whole fight his mouth was open by the third round he got hit constantly the jabs weren't missing not impressed
yarde looked like broner in the maidana fight but went out like brook expect on his back 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hatman, you’ve done something you rarely do - show bias.
MrWarmanG he did pretty well but he wasn’t winning any rounds
giving Yarde first three rounds? which fight where you watching! he got out jabbed!
Exactly, I think Hatman needs a new pair of glasses.
tibaro1234567 I agree.
He got beat and stopped with a jab! Get over it!!
you're a casual son
He got outboxed and then stopped you mug!
Props to Yard! Boy got heart! he kept pushing forward and throwing back at Kov, I'm now a huge fan of both fighters. They really put in a great fight tonight.🥊🥊🥊👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Kova is a truly great fighter, one of the best of our generation but hell he is indeed here for the taking at that point.
@Ed Kahler a shame he attracts people like you though, deserves better following (I guess)
Didn't have Yard winning the first 3 but apart from that I agree with everything else especially the knockdown, Yarde had given everything. At the time I thought any half decent punch is going to finished him. Great performance and a great fight.
👍🥊
Yarde did great but he lacked a good jab aside from is the stamina issues. he also did not seem to be able to defend against kovalevs jab
Gutted for yarde, great fight and he is a future world champion.
Did Tunde pay you for this?
We Are Brits we're meant to be a bit off England Football team.... Frank Bruno... Henry Cooper... We feed on the smallest achievements! 😁
You should do a vid on what you think yarde should do next. In terms of getting a new trainer, opponents, training methods?
Great fight yarde will win a world title. Hatman Buddy Mcgirt has a fighter die in the ring a few weeks ago I’m sure that was playing on his mind
He didn’t even spar! Trainer needs sacking
