@@joshnicholson1928 my personal assessment is that I didn’t let off the brake enough as I added lean angle. I think Viet is thinking the same thing because first thing he said to me was “you gotta come off the brake!” lol
Learned a lot about braking in this day. Also realized I was using very small percent of available braking power. Improved in later sessions by using much more braking mid way through and before trailing in.
Just finding this video. Really interested in the MiniGP series, but more specifically days like these that you can get a ton of riding time done for cheap. Sell me your Ohvale? lol
Hey man! So basically in TX there’s 2 kart tracks in Houston that allows for minis and 1 in Dallas at Cresson. There are 8 rounds of endurance and sprint races. The most common bikes are KX65 or KTM65 or Groms for the TMGP (Texas Mini Grand Prix), the fastest and most competitive class is the 65 (formula 5). Though there are some fast guys on Groms as well. Groms are particularly good for endurance because they’re reliable and burn way less fuel. Unfortunately, there’s no class for my Ohvale GP2 (190cc) hence you rarely see me share videos or any race events. :( it wouldn’t be useful unless you don’t mind only riding it for purely training purposes. Otherwise I recommend getting a KTM65 or KX65!
My Swedish friend with the Ohvale also has one. The other GREAT option that is very fun to ride is the KX65, the guy that crashed at the end of the video is actually a friend of mine who was borrowing my KX. I highly recommend anyone that is doing minis for fun and for training to start with the KX. All you need is access to a kart track :) Maybe I can do a video of the KX for you to show you how AWESOME it is!
Hi there fellow Houstonian! The track is located in New Caney and its called SpeedSportz. It's $75 for the whole day and usually available to ride on (speedsportzracingpark.com/kart-owners/track-race-schedule/calendar). Keep in mind this is a gokart track so its not really built for full sized bikes, some people will ride a R3 or Ninja 250; its best on MiniGP bikes such as the Ohvale, KX65, KLX110, NSR50, NSF100 bikes. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
@@dry509 the importer for the US is RiseMoto.com? Owner is Brandon Cretu. I’d recommend checking out the Texas Mini Grand Prix series. To be honest starting out on the Ohvale is a pricey way to do it, for context the GP2 I have is $10,500 out the door, whereas a very well setup KX65 or Grom will run about $3,000 (you’ll also be able to race and have more company). Please feel free to message me directly or on Facebook. Always happy to help folks get started on minis! :)
I havent ridden my 212 Ohvale in years... I need to bring it out 😅
Epic video, keep up the good work!
Very awesome video Viet! Looks like you’re having so much fun!
it's such a blast, thanks for watching Sean!
😂"WTF is this body position?!"
My thoughts exactly.
😅😅😅
Looks like a lot of fun, I'll join you one of these days. I went to gulf coast karters but haven't tried speed sportz yet
Speedsportz is crazy fun, awesome track surface/layout and great facilities. Definitely come out and ride with us :)
Thanks again for being so nice about me crashing your bike! Had a blast!
Haha all good man! Glad it was minor and we got it on camera :D
Love the captions XD
Great video, guys! Thx for sharing. What’s your assessment on why Trey fell?

Nice! Are you using a Gopro 9? The video looks buttery smooth in 4k.
Thank you, yessir! GoPro 9, really like it so far. Big step up from my older GoPro. Thanks for watching :)
Looks like a great time!
Old video but amazing as always. Your riding skills are awesome. The other guy's body position 😂😅😂😅😂😅😂
Appreciate it Neo! Hahaha yeah he’s quite the goof ball
Best part about crasing mini gp bikes is that its not far from the ground and relative slow speeds.
100% agreed! Makes for a much safer learning environment.
Hello, can I use this clip of crash for my moto compilation, you will be full credited of course (watermark & description) Thanks!
yes, please just help me share my channel, I'm just getting started :)
Gaaaas😍

I so wish I could ride a Ohvale GP2

I am in Houston. 215 lb senior. What bike? What is schedule?

@@vtranmoto Thank you for the feedback. Starting out I would have no idea which bike to try. Is there an Ohvale dealer in the US?

@@vtranmoto Thanks. Btw…it says in the mini gp rules that the bikes must have an automatic clutch?
@@dry509 not sure what that’s about, most adult riders in the series race KX65 or Groms, all manual clutch 5-6 speeds.
Carburetor or Fi bro?
The Ohvale and most of the minis in the paddock are carburetor with a kickstart 👍
The guy crashes followed by "great day". hahaha
🤣🤣🤣 it was!
Anh chạy ngay xe em thích luôn 😅😅😅
