I had the pleasure of seeing Ornette Coleman play an outdoor concert with his band "PrimeTime" in Hartford, CT back in the mid-1980s. During intermission, he saw me standing near the stage. He walked over to me and shook my hand. I told him I was really enjoying his concert and he said "yea, man, the air is really good today." Such a gentleman and a gentle soul. I will always remember that moment.

"How to treat people....and how to help people..." In the simplest of terms,a musical giant AND a great humanitarian
In many ways Ornette was a truly special person. The world is a lesser place without him.
I was in that apartment with Ornette the prior year (2012). This is good to see. Thank you.
