    I've watched multiple videos on creating your own patina, and this by far is the best one. Great job! Thanks for posting it!

    The reason people paint it on is because it will rot your whole car out in 2 years. So enjoy the car you spent ages on for a limited period. 🇬🇧👁 you are sealing rust into it.

      Euro Kevin I’m an Englishman that has owned Golfs (rabbit) for years, VR6’s and 8valve and 16valves, I love the patina look and totally appreciate your flow, I hope you’ve got a trick up your sleeve to stop that rust in its tracks, because it’s a shame when the looks overlook function, you can have both. I’m watching with interest.
      And yes, I was a little triggered, strange how we try and defend cars and objects isn’t it, we are indeed a complex race! 😎👍🏻🇬🇧👁

    I used water based polyurethane. I wiped it on with a rag. I also added brown and black craft paint. to darken up my finish.

    2k clear should work perfectly, really durable

    • @eurokevin
      @eurokevin  5 років тому

      Duane Bowers yea I’m not into the idea of gloss on rust though maybe matte clear or some sort of oil

  • @TylerRogersUSA
    @TylerRogersUSA 5 років тому +1

    Is it possible to undo this down the road? I'd worry about the rust spreading to the point where its eating through...
    Not my personal taste, but i do really love this build

    • @fonzaman
      @fonzaman 5 років тому +1

      Yeah specially since he sealed it to stop it from spreading

    • @eurokevin
      @eurokevin  5 років тому +1

      Tyler Rogers yea he’s right once it’s sealed it will stop rusting and if I just took a grinder back to it it would go back to bare metal it’s only surface rust

    Linseed oil works but you’ll have to refresh with oil every few months. Or just flat clear coat

    • @eurokevin
      @eurokevin  5 років тому

    If you’re replacing the glass anyway, like you mentioned in your response to @Rustyparrot, you should make a one piece back door glass for it. I think it would make the back look more sleek, and be confusing to people. You could also loose the rear window regulators if you’re not using any of that anymore, and just make it a solid rear glass.

    • @eurokevin
      @eurokevin  5 років тому +1

      Robert Febur that’s 100% what I’m going to do I’m just gonna use plexi glass your the first person to catch onto that 🤘🏻❤️ thanks for watching

    • @Freedom_is_better_than_safety
      @Freedom_is_better_than_safety 5 років тому

      I was going to suggest plexi glass, but I didn’t know if you wanted to go that route or not. I really like the “riveted” plexi look myself, but either way it’s going to have some people scratching their heads at first.

    • @eurokevin
      @eurokevin  5 років тому +1

      Robert Febur exactly what I’m going for im actually gonna do a riveted Windshield as well for weight and cuz it’s 400 for a new windshield 🤣🤣

    air is so humidity, then it's naturally become patina over time. Nice job works perfectly, but, i prefere that colour without rust!!!
