Who designs a 3 lane road, where one lane suddenly turns into buses only for 20 metres, and the normal lane has to merge into one of the other 2, then it goes right back to 3? Where actually was this?
it's a service lane that ends with a bus stop. still not great road design really but that is probably the best way to put a bus stop there without putting it right next to the intersection.

That first one... that is without a doubt the stupidest road design I've ever seen. Unless you have a bus rolling through packed to the gills with people in wheelchairs every 20 mins, forcing traffic into more traffic for 10 meters is colossally idiotic. @@traj7196 there is a straight through and turning lane directly after it. That is not a service “lane” it’s a service parking spot and completely idiotic. It serves absolutely no purpose other than unnecessary congestion when not in use.
3:24 is from Dee Why , Northern Beaches in Sydney. I have seen buses taking right turn through that intersection all the time. Wasn’t aware that other vehicles were prohibited. Pretty foolish of the driver given that the police station is right up that hill.
I go through there most days - what you can't see on the video is that a lot of drivers (incl that Porsche no doubt) use it to bypass the queue in the main two lanes of the road, even though it's meant for residents accessing side roads. Karma is deserved.
Great video loved it, I have a issue with motorbikes doing twice the speed limit past my house every weekend and 3 of them crashed on saturday, I had a camera setup so i might upload some of them.
At the very least allow traffic that is turning left after that bus only exit... to turn left... but subject to there NOT being a bus behind them in that queue?
Only thing I can think of is that it means a bus won't completely block that side street whilst waiting for left turning traffic to clear the bus stop.

I'm all for accountability when it comes to carelessness on the roads (that's pretty much what these "instant Karma" videos are about right?): Can we talk about the cop on foot at 10:21? He makes no attempt to check the bike lane before waltzing back into it.
9:43 The Dashcamer (Red 4x4) should have slowed down way more and left a larger gap before moving across lanes!!!! that was dangerous close. if i was the cop i would have a polite word with him and direct him to retake a driver refresher course.
3:24 is a bit ridiculous, there is a singular “no right turn” sign on the opposite side of the road which would be almost impossible to see from where they were; and what is the point of the red arrow on the traffic lights disappearing if you can’t turn right??
Most likely on the phone. You see the cop looking at the driver for some time, expecting him/her to notice but it was only until they put on their lights.

I've learnt to not care for the 'revenue-raising' argument, because the reality is that the cameras target exactly the people who complain about them, simply because of their shortsighted behaviour. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
It actually perplexes me what the driver at 5:00 was doing 😂😂😂 HE WAS SWERVING EVERYWHERE LIKE A DRUNK DRIVER, AND HIT A CAR LMAO WHAT. IVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS
Apparently he believed he wanted to stay in the far left lane and swerved around all the parked cars in that lane. Instead of just using the next lane over like a normal person.

Watching these Dashcam Australia Instant Karma videos is in one way an eye - opener, yet in another, I'm not surprised some people break the Law. I've held a Full Driver's Licence here in Melbourne, Australia, since November 1994, having originally gone for my L Plates in February 1991, and my P Plates from November 1991 to November 1994. actually looks like the cop caught them on the phone, based on the mime at the start, and again it looked like he saw them try to hide it. given the road is a left turn only for both lanes, an indicator isnt needed as no one is altering the flow of traffic

Who designs a 3 lane road, where one lane suddenly turns into buses only for 20 metres, and the normal lane has to merge into one of the other 2, then it goes right back to 3? Where actually was this?
it's a service lane that ends with a bus stop. still not great road design really but that is probably the best way to put a bus stop there without putting it right next to the intersection.
it is a service lane that doubles as a bus lane because of that feature. quite clever really
@@Phil_Xit's a service road that filters the traffic leaving the residential streets. It has an entry and an exit and is not an older third lane that has been closed off
37.906433,145.060579
Other commenters have answered about it actually being the end of a normal length service lane but since you asked where it is that’s the intersection of North Rd and Murrumbeena Rd/East Boundary Rd in Victoria
@@Phil_X yeah cause nobody has ever tried to go around a bus stopped in front of them. True genius!

as someone from melbourne it really appears that sydney has SOOOO many more police actually out on the road
dont worry with the current goverment that is probably going to change
That first one... that is without a doubt the stupidest road design I've ever seen. Unless you have a bus rolling through packed to the gills with people in wheelchairs every 20 mins, forcing traffic into more traffic for 10 meters is colossally idiotic. It's almost like if normal traffic just flowed through there AND THEN A BUS SHOWED UP... it can just ya know stop AND THEN people went around. Absolutely crazy shit I know.
I agree.
The entry point you see is a service lane, not an extra road lane being choked off. It's to filter the traffic coming out of the residential streets.
@@traj7196 there is a straight through and turning lane directly after it. That is not a service “lane” it’s a service parking spot and completely idiotic. It serves absolutely no purpose other than unnecessary congestion when not in use.

@@OutermostGoldit's two lanes, not four. What you think is a third lane is a service road, filters traffic from the residential estate to the left
I go through there most days - what you can't see on the video is that a lot of drivers (incl that Porsche no doubt) use it to bypass the queue in the main two lanes of the road, even though it's meant for residents accessing side roads. Karma is deserved.
