Sometimes cats who experienced food insecurity on the street become over-eaters. They'll eat until they vomit if suddenly presented with food, because they don't know when the next meal with come. Of course, some cats can get over this (after time, when they see the soup kitchen is always open!). That said, I am amazing how little vomit and pee we see!!! Also, taking time to learn to pronounce (especially native American) names is important. It's kinda cringe to make fun of foreign names, and that is so not on-brand here! Everyone is welcome! I grew up in the '70s with people telling me "Sonia" was a "Russian" name as if that was a slur. Names are all beautiful! As a teacher I try to learn all my students' names and pronounce them correctly. Sometimes we have Chinese students here in Korea and their names will be written in Korean, but I ask them how I should pronounce them and try to learn! Also, I totally get that King Ferguson has a bit of Columbo! I think it's that rugged exterior, but still charming!
