    I moved for an ambulance once & triggered the camera, it took me two days at court to avoid the points. On the way out I told the copper "I've learned my lesson officer, I'll never move for an emergency vehicle again".

      Never go through a red light for an emergency vehicle or even into the cyclist box they'll always try to get you done for it. The good emergency vehicle drivers will turn their sirens off to remove the pressure on you. Stupid I know but that's the law as it stands

    Probably only slowed the police car down from going to see someone who has had too much to think anyway.

    Not only are you breaking the law by going through a red light but you're also possibly putting yourself in danger along with others.

      As soon as they put on that uniform they change into tyrant's. Give people a yellow or orange vest and it tends to have the same affect on lots of them too.

      @@alexfilma16 Affect is from the Latin word Affectus, which means acted upon or subjected to. It's related to the verb affect whi h means to act on or change someone. In this case, putting on that uniform or vest affects their behavior. But either word basically does the same job.

    So the police try and blues and twos it through a red light, drive 50 yds, then slow down to about 5mph in the middle of a bus lane? What a bunch of clowns.

    I can recall a case when someone ran a red light to allow an emergency police vehicle to go through. He got a ticket and was fined. He asked the police to confirm his reason, which was also on the photo, they declined to get involved.

    its not just red lights if you move into a bus lane to allow a emergency vehicle to go through you could get a pcn if the lane has a camera

    Really wish people would stop calling them the police... They are a cult. As for the red light... The biker is totally correct, unless it is a green light, members of the public are not allowed to go through a red light, emergency services on blue lights or not.

    You can only go through a red light if ordered to by the police. How ever they cant give you permission from their car they have to physically be standing at the light to order you through

    Even though filtering is completely legal lots of cops hate it if they are stuck in traffic and you pass them on your bike. As for red lights, cops don't seem to take a lot of notice of them even if they are not on a call. I have seen them turn the blues on just to get through traffic cause it's either their break time or they've finished for the day and are impatient to get back to the station and home. You can see an awful lot more on a motorcycle than you can in a car.

      Hi mate I had a collision with a motorcycle some years ago and when the motorcycle rider told the copper that he was filtering the copper told him that filtering didn’t exist anymore. It may still say it in the Highway Code but some of it is not law, it’s just a code to drive by and doesn’t trump the law. Most insurance companies will automatically side with the motorcycle, which can give the impression that the motorcycle is in the right which they aren’t.

      @skibidat9808 22 дні тому

      @andrew58344 The copper was wrong which isn't uncommon. Filtering is still legal in the UK. However it can become a grey area if you filter at speed and end up on your back cause someone didn't see you and pulled out on you. It is definitely still legal but it has to be done safely. If I'm filtering and pass a car at 5 to10 mph and an accident occurs, the car driver, the police, and even a court if it went that far, would react very differently than if I had filtered passed at 20 or 30 mph. Filtering is still legal, the law has not altered. As usual cop's are rubbish at knowing the law.

    Only move over when safe to do so as in the highway code. Red lights and amber means stop. You will be fined if you go thru the lights just as you would be if you entered a bus lane.

    Let’s be honest,how many put the lights on, just because they don’t want to sit in traffic.seen it many times withe Irish police,they think traffic laws don’t apply to them.

    If you run a red light the opposite are on green so you’d be in danger of being hit by another vehicle
