Original composed by Rob Hubbard. All guitars, programming (drums & synths) and mixing by me. Art by Godmachine: vice-press.com/... Mp3: www.remix64.com... www.remix64.co...
Pat Mills said they were pretty much inspired by metal, one of the two one-shot comics they did before the comics proper is called Killer Watts after a metal compilation album!
Hi Aki... I was just wondering... Have you ever done a metal version of the acoustic guitar piece "The Bannered Mare" from the Skyrim soundtrack, by Jeremy Soulé?@
I usually don't care that much for metal covers of video game music, but this I liked a lot. Very atmospheric! The theme lends itself nicely for a version like this. Hyvää duunia!
I was never huge metal fan growing up, even though I had a lot of respect for the genre. But when I got older I gained a more eclectic taste when it came to music, and to be honest, metal eventually became one of my favorite genres (along with punk and ambient stuff like Jarre and Vangelis. And I will say, this is my second favorite remix of this tune (which BTW is my all time favorite SID) next to the one by Marcel Donne. Great job AKI. Love your stuff.
When you're young your music taste is like "goa trance." or "Vangelis.". And when older... it's ALL over the board. Like, you even listen to multiple styles of music with actual effing vocals in them and so on... in at least 3 different languages.
I have lost count of how many times I've come back to this video by this point. Its kind of gave me this particular perspective of this character. I hope that if he is ever brought into anything close to Judge Dredd related stuff like the Mega City One show that Nemisis lives up to how awesome he seems in his stories and of course his music. I enjoy this remix a lot.
Actually, the original composition is by Larry Fast (Synergy). Hubbard just "borrowed" most of it. EDIT: Dang. It appears I was too hasty: Rob Hubbard's "Master of Magic" is taken from Synergy's "Shiboleth" and Hubbard's "Zoids" is Synergy's "Ancestors". I did not find any source for "Nemesis the Warlock". Sorry for the confusion; it appears I over-generalized because "Warlock" is just so similar in its epic style to Larry Fast's tracks.
Great song, great remix, keeps me coming back to listen to over and over. I know music has changed over time though in my opinion for the worst. I'd like the next gen to go back to this style of music. Back to melodic, substantial, and actually appealing music. But I ask the impossible when terrible so called musicians are promoted up top instead.
Tanx for this great music mix! ...who whould win in a fight between Nemesis the Warlock and Alucard (of the Hellsing)? ...beside the point they whould never have a reason to fight eachother.
Savage piece of music. Spot on. Can anyone seriously envisage anything other than metal being capable of an aural representation of Nemesis? Dirty Drum & Bass maybe. Reggae/dub be far too chilled, rap got not needed words and jazz - fuck me, slaughter. Good job Mr. Hubbard - cant say its made me want to behave though!
Used to read these comics way back. Gritty and dark humor all the way. You can read this little gem here if interested: readcomiconline.to/Comic/The-Complete-Nemesis-The-Warlock
While the guitar melody translates well, this lost the heaviness of the original. Should have gone for a doom interpretation if you ask me. But cool take nonetheless. Sounds digital though. Did you use sample instruments in Cubase, or? Otherwise it's a surprisngly clean production.
Heavy metal works so well with the material, Nemesis might be one of the most metal comics I ever saw.
A pity Pat Mills hates superheroes.

Oh my christ this is great
Pat Mills himself on Twitter: "Just had a listen. It's terrific!"
Take a bow, Aki. Great job.
That's pretty nice

@@jiilaa_with_randomness yes
A very nice cover you got there, you seem to have managed to capture the theme quite well.
Yes, I agree. It was taking its time to get started, but a nice cover none the less.
@@SoanosBarcoded the original takes its time to get started too.

Actually I was mostly into Celtic music as a kid, since I'm half Irish and grew up with it
I came back to here this before the end of 2023. The end will come with metal and fire on a grand climax as a year should.
Solid remake, glad to find it.
ah man that was my dream to listen very very nice...
805 views and half are probably me
Pat Mills is the original comicbook edgelord.
I could never finish this game. But piling up those bodies sure was fun.

Wow. Never knew about that
Really nice, thank you!
Captures that 80s style very well, which is only fitting, given when the game came out. Nicely done!

Nemesis The Warlock one of my favourite characters from 2000AD and second is Deadlock from ABC Warriors.

How about Resident Evil 3, but with Nemesis the Warlock instead of the nemesis tyrant?
MASTERPIEEEEEEEEEEEEECE
Awesome! This just shows how epic Metal is!What tuning are you playing in usually?Would love to learn that on my guitar. :-)
This was in A#. Otherwise usually in D or D#
Cool, thanks for the info. And do you remember what tuning Last Ninja 2: Central park was in?
Thomas R it was in D
