- Hi beauties! Back with another fragrance review and today is a highly requested one! Jackie Aina recently launched another division of her Forvr Mood brand, expanding to fragrances! I was so excited because not only have I been following Jackie’s journey since her early days, but this is a HUGE win for Black Women in beauty!! So of course I had to get my hands on what I thought was the standout fragrance from the collection, I Am Her! See what I think about this fragrance (from a regular consumer standpoint) and if I think you need it or not. Y’all know what to expect with my reviews, this will be nothing different!

I agree with you 100%. Jackie is a brand. The brand is luxurious, opulent, and grand--that didn't translate to the product. IMO, that's not the fault of consumers not knowing who the target audience is. She's missed the mark on how to deliver to the audience she markets herself to, which is why so many people are disappointed and underwhelmed with this release. And unfortunately, I don't find that she's able to take criticism (and maybe doesn't think "we" are even in a place to critique because what do we know?) without blocking folks or saying this is unjust hate towards a BW trying. 🤷
I definitely understand and agree with you! I hate that so many of us were underwhelmed. I see a few comments like yours...Jackie will block people who disagree with her??! Maybe I am not on social media enough to see this. Oh my smh. I think as a public figure/influencer, we ALL have to acknowledge that not everyone will like or support us or what we produce for our audiences. I hate to hear this!

@@KeikoBeautyyeah she blocks people and doesn't have criticism well at all. But like she said she is not a celebrity so stop treating her like one cause she's going to respond like a regular person would cause she's a regular person. I think it's crazy.
I'm not mad at the scent profiles, packaging, or price point. She made it *accessible*. If she went full niche in pricing and all of that, people would complain that it was unaffordable/too expensive. This is a good entry set, and I believe she'll have more complex fragrance grades over time.

I agree! I see this as her entry into the fragrance space. definitely believe she's in the lab cooking up those deep, complex and non-linear fragrances. I ordered the discovery set and liked the Yellow and Purple. Gave them to my 24 year old daughter and SHE WAS IN LOVE! I will always support Ms. Jackie Aina! She taught me how to do my make-up!
I feel like influencers are afraid to say they don’t like it and feel let down. I was surprised to not like them very much. . Definitely not for fragrance heads! I’m glad I got the discovery set. And that’s it for me I’m hoping she comes out with stronger scents
I definitely think a lot are hesitant to be honest and I guess I can understand why. It could possibly interfere with chances to work with larger brands, attend events, etc. Luckily/unluckily for me (lol) I don’t make a ton of money off influencing and don’t get invited to events. But even if I did, I would still have to be honest. That’s what you all deserve and I’m here for you all! This is absolutely not for the fragrance heads and that’s okay. I wish I had known lol. I hope she will come out with another line of more intense, interesting scents.

This is the part that is more concerning than anything else! If so many ppl are saying this, it must be a THING. It's sad. But I'm not worried about that. If Jackie wants to block me for being honest and giving constructive criticism, I guess lol. My loyalty is to my subscribers and to myself, to be honest 💕
Hey beauty 👋🏾 I agree on the packaging. As soon as I saw it I knew it wouldn't be the unique niche scent that we expected from Jackie. I bought the travel set to experience all 4 fragrances. I purchased 2 full size bottles. (The pink 💕 and the yellow 💛 They're cute scents. I got them to support Jackie because I've been a fan from her military days as well. She's also a black woman in this space so I want her to win!

Agree, agree!! I was a bit confused. That’s why I want to know who the Target audience is. But then when I see the influencers talk about them, everybody loves them. I was thinking it was just me 🤣
Thank you for this. In the last year or so, I have been become very frustrated with the level of dishonesty in the fragrance community. One can support Jackie, recognize that this is a big accomplishment, yet still be honest in noting that these fragrances are underwhelming. That experienced fragrance reviewers are pretending that these fragrances are unique is beyond disingenuous. There seems to be little concern that they are intentionally misleading their audience, just because they don't want to fall out of grace with the big brands.
You are so welcome. I truly understand what you mean. I think being 100% honest AND being amicable with products/brands can be hard for influencers sometimes. So many feel conflicted and want to possibly "smooth things over". I hope that more see we are here influencing and sharing because our audiences trust us to guide them. It's okay to love and support creators and brands alike, but still be honest in sharing our experience. Not every product will be perfect for us and that's okay. I know for me, I choose honesty. I don't focus on possible backlash because I know I am making these videos in all honesty for YOU ALL. Big brands and smaller brands have to be okay with not everyone liking their product 100% of the time.
Thank you for keeping it 💯! I purchased I am her and returned it and Hard to get and returned it also. Such a bummer and a real let down. I also love to support my melanated sister and brothers but these two scents were really bad to me! I got so sick of seeing influencers lie and our faces🤥

But yes, some things won’t work for us smh that’s okay. I also understand why some influencers may feel hesitant to share their open truth. Great video! I appreciate you for keeping it real and giving your honest feedback. I've seen so many mixed reviews online and it's hard to tell who is truly being genuine with their review. I feel as though many people are just hyping up these scents to avoid being blocked by Jackie. I miss the old days when the beauty community kept it real and honest when it came down to reviewing new products.
I was able to smell all the scents in store and I was very underwhelmed. I think these fragrances are missing depth and I was expecting them to have more unique notes, they all smell very familiar. You remind me is the only scent I liked but the longevity wasn't there. I also agree with the bottles looking a little cheap, I think it was mainly the font that was used. Hopefully Jackie uses the feedback she receives regarding these fragrances and releases new ones in the future!
Thank you Tammy! I always have to keep it real, we need more people to be bold in their reviews-- and that does not mean mean, just truthful and stand behind it! I keep seeing comments like ppl are afraid Jackie will block them...for saying they don't like a scent?! Goodness. I hate that. But I, too, miss the older days of the beauty community. It has changed so much...sometimes into something I don't understand/like but I guess that's just the way things are.
These scents are absolutely missing depth. Very familiar notes, but I can assume some will enjoy that!! I hate you only enjoyed one scent, though the longevity was still lacking. I also agree-- more than the bottle shape, it was the font. I also hope Jackie uses the CONSTRUCTIVE criticism to continue to improve her brand! I know, I would give her another chance if she has another collection of fragrances! Just like I have given Kayali chance, after chance 💕 thanks for sharing!

Exactly, I wasn't expecting Delina quality. But I definitely expected it to last longer than 2 hours. This is a wonderful scent for someone younger or just getting into fragrances! I hope to be able to try DNA also! Still a huge win for Jackie!!

I think you would be let down by the collection tbh. I was disappointed by NDA but, I purchased travel sprays of 3 and full bottles of 3. I am her and hard to get are my faves! You remind me surprised me the most though. I have to support a fellow veteran and black woman in this space because we are VERRRRRY underrepresented out here. I loved hearing your thoughts babe!

Keiko, thanks for always keeping it real, I agree with some of the sentiments regarding the scent. To me it smelled like Ruby Orchid plus Pink Sugar with an Oud dry down. I don’t own over 300+ fragrances hell, I don’t even have 50 but I’ve smelt a lot of niche fragrance and this year I’ve decided I’m not going to purchase a fragrance unless it’s a love and doesn’t remind me of something else. I bought I Am Her in the Sephora early release and ended up returning it, I didn’t like the dry down. However, I purchased NDA. NDA reminded me of the perfume version of the purple Sol De Janiero (the one people said attracts spiders) which I’ve been wanting so I bought both and layer them. You’re right about the longevity though, I wear it because it smells nice but I haven’t received compliments and that doesn’t surprise me because it doesn’t project much. You Remind Me (the clear one) was the 2nd I liked but I didn’t pick that up because it had a similiar vibe of designer while florals, reminisce of Prada Paradox. All in all, great review and hopefully she doesn’t block you on Instagram lol

I am so glad NDA worked well for you! The longevity really is lacking, but I am hoping as the fragrances sit and macerate they will improve! Possibly! I can't wait to smell You Remind Me in person. That, NDA, and the yellow one seem to be the prettier ones in the collection. LOL I have seen so many comments about Jackie hopefully not blocking me. I appreciate your honesty. I have 3 out of 4 (travel size). I am in the process of testing out “I Am Her” at the moment. At first whiff, it was very raspberry and I enjoyed it. After a little bit of dry down, I didn’t enjoy it as much. I don’t know what it’s giving, but it’s not giving what I expected.

Agreed. They smell good, but not so much luxurious. That’s not a diss by any means, and you’re correct having a fragrance line is a huge accomplishment. After smelling them all, my pick would be the fruity/ floral Hard to Get (the green bottle). Good review

OK! This is the video we all needed. I, like 1 million other human beings in the world went to the Sephora sale a couple different times at a couple different locations and each time I looked to grab one of these scents… I was gifted hard to get and I’m OK with it for things like work honestly, but it to your exact point is also not complex or interesting enough for me to want to wear out and about in the world. 😢 I was also a little bit disappointed because I think I had the same expectation as you, she is so luxurious and owns so many perfumes that I figured hers would absolutely blow us all away.
Haha thanks babe!! Hard to Get sounds like a way better scent than this also lol. But i totally get it, they’re just cute and okay. Nothing amazing or beautiful to me 🤷🏽♀️. I definitely thought even though her price point was lower, that the scents would still be at least beautiful and unique. Designer brands do it! Idk. Happy now I know what to expect with the rest of the line, if she releases more!!

You’re so welcome!! That’s possibly it. But brands should be cognizant of that. Release a fragrance once it’s fully macerated…that’s just MY opinion though lol. I had another segment of my review talking about layering and macerating, but I deleted it 🤣🤣

From the promos I wasn’t a fan of the design of the bottle, but once I saw them in store I do like them more. I went to smell all 4 and actually purchased 2 full size 💛💖 and the 💜 in a travel size.
I wouldn’t say these are super niche perfumes, but this is the first launch and also sold at Sephora so i can see it being mass appealing.
I’m not ready to judge longevity just yet. I like to have my perfumes sit for a little bit before I determine that. Even my Xerjoffs and Montales.
So far I really like them and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

I honestly agree especially about the packaging. I loved the scent of the yellow one but it just didn’t last long…maybe an hr but I didn’t smell it on my clothes so I ended up returning it for Dolce and Gabbana Devotion since it’s a lil similar but it last longer. I hope her and Mona from KayAli start putting oils in their fragrances in the future so they can last longer. I want everyone to win but I’m not about to be waste my money on something that don’t last. Everything I own gotta earn its keep lol! 💰

So it reminded me of sun ripened raspberry from bath and body works. It's nice but not blown away. Now the yellow and white...yep...keepers! I need another yellow travel spray bc I'll wear that in the summer for sure
Ahhh maybe that's it! I have tried that one I believe. Yes, this one was definitely disappointing. It had potential to be amazing, but was missing certain elements for sure!! Yes the white and yellow seem beautiful! I definitely chose the wrong one LOL.

Heyyy girl🩷I appreciate your honest review. I wasn’t impressed with any of the scents but i plan to pair them with others to extend the longevity. This video is the perfect example of being honest without being nasty to the creator. I appreciate that because some people have been trying to tear her down versus just giving constructive criticism. I can’t lie when the prices were shared I immediately was like this is not gonna give what I was initially thinking😩😩Though there are some nice scents in this price range I just had a feeling that the price point would be reflected in the performance. Hi babe! Thanks so much. Yea this line was disappointing for sure. But I think pairing them with others will give you a way better experience. Yesss I wanted to make sure I was still decent. Overall, I bought my fragrance to support Jackie. I don't have to love or even like everything. I don't think there is a need to make a video tearing someone down. After all, I am SURE she is so proud of herself for launching these fragrances! And I would never want to take any of that away from her. I will still find a way to enjoy my travel size. I'm glad we supported too! You Remind Me seems to be a winner across the board. I can't wait til I can watch UA-cam again and see your review!!!
The other side of this coin is that there are people who interpret everything that isn't an outright praise as "nasty" and disrespectful. I have seen anther content creator being accused of not supporting a black woman, just because she stated that she would not be purchasing the scents and that the bottles looked cheap.
I totally understand that, and it's unfortunate. Which is why I tried to make it very clear that I am still proud of Jackie and any Black woman who starts as being an influencer/UA-cam content creator, to having their own line at Sephora! I could never take that away from her. But everyone should be able to give their opinion, respectfully! I don't like the bottles either. They look cheap to me lol. Though they do look better in people's reviews.
I got the sample set first, body mist was my first impression. I did end up picking up the big bottle of yellow and white. I don't have anything that smells like the yellow bottle and it was a little louder than the rest.
Body mist is it! The yellow and white seem to be better choices for sure! And hopefully these scents will macerate and become even better!!! Thanks for watching 💕
This is the realest review! It’s a dressed up BBW and or KayAli. And when you said you couldn’t smell it 2 hours later…BINGO! This is a childish line, I was disappointed :( The yellow scent is the better one, still no lasting power.

2 of the fragrances I couldn’t smell on the tester at all after multiple sprays. The yellow one smells good. The pink is just okay. The price point should be 59 dollars imo. I’m happy to see a black woman be successful.
Oh man, I hate that. The yellow one seems like the one I should’ve tried! I’ll see if I can find it in store. Yes pink was just okay. Total disappointment bc it had potential! All in all, Jackie sold out- a huge win for her!!!
I am really liking NDA once it settles! I had no idea who Jackie was but was curious to try the new scents at Sephora. I sprayed all four on and was not initially wowed by any, however, five hours later something smelled so dang good. I don’t know which one it was or if it was all of them together lol. So I went back and bought all four small sizes. I think the light one that smells like musk is my least favorite. NDA seems like it would be really great in the winter time or spring before it gets hot. Don’t think the bottles look all that great in real life , but I also don’t like the good girls shoe lol.

I am here for this video. I purchased to support. I am not happy that I can't smell myself 5 seconds later. I purchase and wear perfumes for me, it's how I do self care and deal with stress in my day-to-day (i.e. at work). I hope for maceration, but it doesn't hold up on my skin which is where I spray. I Am Her smells like Black Opium. I like the clear bottle and the yellow bottle. I Am Her holds up, but it isn't my favorite. I have the travel size. Maybe these will play well in the summer heat. July, let's see if you deliver.
Oh no, I’m sorry you experience the same performance issues. They definitely missed the mark there. I agree, i love to be able to wear and smell my fragrances all day long. It’s a mood lifter for sure!! Maybe with maceration it’ll improve a bit!

Fragrance does lift my mood, so I put thought into what fragrances I wear. I even spray the backs of my hand when I am home, to play with my scents. 😀

Hard to Get and You Remind Me were my favorites from the line. I can smell the oud with raspberry (I think?) in I am Her but it wasn't for me. NDA was lighter than expected. Will always support Jackie too, like from the very beginning.

🎯 . From the packaging I would expect to see this in target,CVS etc.. This is my problem with influencers.. these companies throw out an idea or a deal with no real thought process in it. All about a dollar and going viral. To me another flop.

The bottles reminded me of Givenchy Ange de Demon so I didn't mind the shape even though it's not my thing and they look better in person. Charlotte Tilbury has some coming with a similar shape/vibe. It was really the fonts and text size on the bottles that threw me off lol

The bottles do look a little similar. I agree, the font and sizing of the font with Forvr Mood kinda looked like it was left unfinished to me. But hey, I guess it's working for them lol. I could tell by some of the other reviews I’ve seen that they don’t really like the scents either, but they don’t want to say such 😂 it’s all over their faces though-one girlie was like “I don’t like this” and then QUICKLY went to “wait a minute maybe I do” 😭 I’m like it’s ok if you don’t like the scents. I have yet to smell the fragrances yet, but I wasn’t a big fan of her candle scents.

But i think in reviewing products you can do that AND honest! Your viewers are supposed to trust you!!! That’s all i care about!! I don’t like this scent and there’s nothing that can convince me to, sadly. It’s okay to not like everything. I think they missed their chance to market NDA more. That is the stand out of the line in my opinion. I also like you remind me. I ended up purchasing those 2 because i can wear them to work. I would have purchase I am her had it not been sold out on sephora. I do hope they will get stronger over time like kayali does.
I have been into fragrances for a long time and I have many high end fragrances. I can appreciate the fact that Jackie made her line accessible to those who may not be able to afford a $100+ perfume. I also like the fact that she released them so they would be available during the sephora sale as most brands would not have done that (I'm looking at you kayali😂). Hopefully this is just the beginning and the next round will be even better.
I think you’re right hun! After reading all these comments NDA and Your Remind Me or even Hard to Get (i think that’s the name lol) seem to be the more unique ones! I do also hope they get better with time! I spoke about maceration and layering and was like okay this video is long enough lol.
I do think Jackie was trying to keep the price point not too high, which is on par with her candles. There definitely is a market for these fragrances and I’m okay that it’s not me! Haha i also think it was great to release them during the sale, bc she didn’t have to do that at all!!
I reviewed the discovery set because I didn't feel confident doing a blind buy of the larger sizes. I am her is one of my least favorite fragrances in the bunch. I really like "You Remind me" and "NDA" but unfortunately the wear on "NDA" in like 10-15 minutes on my skin.

I’m surprised ppl thought they would be deep dark, unique or sexy fragrances. Looking at the bottles I knew they would be easy reach mass appealing fragrances. Which there’s nothing wrong with that because we all need easy reach everyday fragrances. Us being frag heads we are the minority because we like unique interesting scents. But the average consumer likes these types of scents so I get it. The things we like the average person would think our favorites stink. 😂

However, I thought it would have been more on the niche side perhaps.But nevertheless, I did order a travel size of the pink one and I’m waiting for the purple one to restock, I’m going off of notes alone. In person I felt like the packaging didn’t look that bad. I don’t like any Carolina Herrera fragrances and the bottles are tacky to me, the Forvr Mood bottles are cute but I can see why an older audience wouldn’t be interested.

I am Her was my least favorite. It smells so incredibly familiar. Being a lover of fragrance, it’s just not a scent profile that I gravitate to right now. I think those looking for a basic signature scent or new to the fragrance world will enjoy it. I bought the discovery set and none of the scents are groundbreaking. The longevity is not there at all. NDA and You remind me were my favorites.
I think I definitely chose the wrong one LOLL. Definitely I Am Her is a familiar scent. This line would be perfect for someone just looking to explore a new line and find a signature scent. I keep hearing NDA and You Remind Me are great ones. I wish I could exchange this for another lol.
