Definitely love these sorts of systems, but integration with other home automation systems ends up being a major deciding factor with me. A good app is important, but so is Google home/Alexa/whatnot support.
I'll admit that I have only just dipped my toe into automation and I realize that for every problem there is a workaround... but from my perspective that sort of integration is key.
oh and while this is probably a touch redundant, killer video as always man

If you are techsavy, ie. can solder, I would say that a Raspberry Pi 3 with Hyperion is the way to go, cheaper, more customization, a lot more leds can be present, but yeah, not for the average consumer. I am rocking a 55" Panasonic with 4 meters of RGB LEDs (118 LEDs) with RPi3 with libreelec (no external hdmi sources) - 55$ well spent (RPi not included) :)

edit: are those black bars at the top and bottom actually black or are they just some really really dark color? cuz I think when a video is not in 16:9 aspect ratio, UA-cam crops the black bars out when you slide down on video (and make it smaller) in the mobile app. I saw this in videos that were in the 4:3 ratio, UA-cam removes the black bars from the sides in the slid-down mode. Also happens to videos that are in 9:16 (portrait orientation) videos
btw if the video has a single frame in 16:9, the whole video is considered 16:9.
I don't really know how to describe that mode when we slide down on the video in the mobile app, so i get it if you don't understand 😅

I hope they've added support for pillarbox this time around, it's quite dumb that it can detect black boarders on the top and buttom, but not on the sides and adjust to that.

I've had Lighpack for years, no on my Predator x34. This is old news but amazing editing as usual bro
+Paddy Connolly oh yeah, even in my set video I mentioned that I used to have a lightpack, lightberry and even did my own via a raspberry pi. The nice thing is become super easy. These guys are implementing feature petty quick too. Plus, we finally have 4k support with HDMI cec. :)
Yeah I've been loving my OG lightpack especially now on my new set up, works flawlessly for 3yrs. It makes games and films so immersive. The same EU Lightpack guys are developing the lightpack 2 atm which is identical to this so it will be interesting comparing the 2. Queue the race to shipment EU vs US! haha. Now all i need is flexible fabric LEDs that I can put on my automated projector screen and I am in ambient light heaven. Keep up the good work lad, always save your vids so I can watch them in full ultrawide ambient light glory at home!

would this product work with a iMac?
+Joshua Sinclair Gaines anything with an HDMI out. It'd be a bit tricky with an iMac because the screen is built in. I'm not familiar with one as I've never owned one but if you can extend the desktop via an output you could theoretically make it work but you'd need adapters to go from minidp to HDMI.
