I have both of these and fly them together which allows me to really get a good comparison...my findings are the P-51 is a slicker airframe and can fly on less throttle than the FW. After 6.5 minutes of flight, the P-51 pack will have a bit more remaining capacity than the FW. Loops are bigger and bolder with the P-51 than the FW although both will easily do them. Both fly extremely well and after putting some expo into the rudder for each, straight takeoff runs are the norm. They are both excellent models and well worth the money.

The P-51 is still selling great and will definitely be around longer, but the Fw has slowed down and will be going away soon...better to get one now before it's discontinued in the coming weeks!

It’s poetic to me that the 190 model has so many QoL improvements when that was the entire design philosophy of the real plane: Tank was willing to take the seemingly less “cool” or “high performance” design features if it meant making a plane that could be put together by, maintained by, and flown by average joes rather than the elites. This model seems to capture that perfectly with its construction

Great video Jason the FW looks like an instant win in my book. I have the mustang and have been enjoying it for months now can’t wait to add the new model to my collection. I do have to say if it flys as good as the mustang it will go to the field more than any of my models. Currently the mustang goes everywhere with me lol
I had the receiver in an Avanti went up and realised my Ailerons were reversed . Dropped it into safe and was able to land the model so glad I fitted the AR 637T

I own the 1.5 T-6 Texan, but want the new P-51. I fly with the iX-12 radio.
Need to convince someone at my club to get this plane and fly it with my P51.
I don't understand why after spending all that time and work to make a scale looking landing gear that the STRUT SUPPORT/ LOCKING MECHANISMS was left out. It is such a unique feature and look to the Focke Wulf FW-190. Hopefully in the future it can be offered as an upgrade. Being a huge FW-190 enthusiast, I did Preorder one.

Wait...testing in Vegas???
I’ve been flying for about 5 years off of grass with various planes: Viper 70mm, v900, 1.2 Corsair ( still trying to keep it from nosing over upon landing), Avanti, Eflite A10, Air Tractor, Cirrus, Cherokee, etc. Do you think this p-51 could be my first p-51 flying off of grass?
Yes! Due to the larger size and the larger wheels, the 1.5m P-51 is a great choice when flying from grass. The 1.2m P-51 can work well on some grass surfaces, but is more likely to nose over like the 1.2m Corsair. The 1.5 P-51 is far less likely to nose over on the same or even longer grass surfaces!

At 7:30 you mentioned something about toggling SAFE and putting the sticks in the corner to make the plane circle. Can you explain how to do that exactly, and does that work on the 1.5m P-51D also?

Nice job I have the dx6 and I was very disappointed when I found out that you cant have a independent channel when you have flaps and retracts and I have been waiting for the NX8 bc I want that extra switch and I know you get that on the NX6 but im waiting for the NX8. They keep saying there coming in in January but Im finding that doubtful idk??

Hello from Belgium! Great video and clear explanations . However, since I don’t understand everything in English, I have a question for you. Can I use my DX6 dsmx or DX8 dsmx , dsm2 old generation ( metalic ) ? Will the AS3x and Safe system work on both radios? And can I use other brands of batteries besides smarts? Hello! Yes, AS3X and SAFE Select will work with all 7+ channel Spektrum transmitters (6 channels is not enough to use SAFE Select because you need a separate 7th channel to turn that on/off...AS3X will always work with 6+ channels on this model)! And yes, you can use any 6S 4000-7000mAh batteries...they do not need to be Smart batteries.

PayPal would charge you immediately when placing a pre-order and we do not charge until the pre-ordered item is in stock and ready to ship (which can take up to a few weeks or longer, and those funds would not be available to you during that time).

This is spectacular but Horizon's aussie distributor is out of control. $750USD is not a reasonable markup no matter which way you look at it. Surely you have influence over this in your distribution agreements :(
Good luck- I’ve said this many times before. The NX10 is $500 USD and was $699 here for a week - now $799!
It seems that Horizon is scared of the PC crowd by not including the historical correct tail swastika! What’s next?

Shelby seems to have some sort of emotional problem here. I was only pointing out the accuracy of the model, no big deal and certainly not bitching like you seem to be doing. I have lots of Horizon products and this one looks like a winner as well. Let it go, take a deep breath, this plane will do very well.
I'm a huge Luftwaffe warbird fan. I always want my warbirds to be as historically accurate as possible. I understand that HH and other companies can't ship tail swastikas with the planes. I've bought several sheets of tail swastikas in various sizes, for any Luftwaffe plane that I buy. It would be nice if HH would offer the tail markings on the respective Luftwaffe warbird page, but not a big deal that they don't.
