I'm not a country guy, not a religious man, not a veteran, but this song, without a doubt, appeals to me. Had a long battle with drugs and more than happy to say I'm going to be 4 years clean this summer. My heart and hope go out to anyone struggling with anything. You can beat it and it's never too late to start rebuilding
Same here, man. I've been clean for 10 years now and I'm still fixing all the damage I did when I was using drugs . But like you said it's never too late !!! Wish you the best man. Keep moving forward don't look back.
Just want to add its good old boys “AND GIRLS”!!! Wish my PTSD could disappear!!! I wish for a full recovery for Colt!!! He is much needed for love and support for the VETS!!! Much Love!!!!
Just as long you aren’t alone that’s what I care about. Nothing but respect for my sisters and brothers that wore that uniform 🫡 from a ex infantry soldier.
I was just given some good news today and wanted to celebrate with some good music and seen this comment. I Google it and realized he had a heart attack. I hope he gets back to his old self and takes it easy. Colt Ford has been a very big inspirational figure since day 1 of me listening to him many years ago! My family and I will be praying for you!
This song doesn't get enough credit for its message. I'd like to personally thank everyone who is serving or had ever served in our armed forces. You gave me a home to grow up in that was safe and I wanna be just like ya'll out of highschool. Serving to give children a safe home. Thank you all very much, from the bottom of my heart. My family served and I hope I can too one day.
I feel you on this one... My uncles and grandpa served and I was hoping to go into the Marines but I broke my leg and got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes... If you serve come find me.. I live in Oklahoma and hopefully will move to Texas. THANK YOU ALL VETERANS

Respect man. That's a tough and dangerous job, a military man in the civilian country. I sure hope I don't meet you on the highways but I'd respect you if I did.
i aint been in no war like the soliders that have ptsd, i have it and it nearly destroyed me when i found out. but i found the strength for holding on through this song.
I'm not a veteran, just a man fighting his own personal war for his soul, but this song is the story of my last 3 years put into a song. Thank you Colt Ford, serves as a reminder we can all do better. That we can change. That sometimes a dad gets kicked around not because he was an asshole but because he still needed to become the man his children deserve. And that is what I'm gonna go out working on
So I never associated this song with the video until now. But, I’ve felt this song on an immensely deep level. Struggling with loss, life, and alcoholism this song has had a huge impact on my life in the last couple weeks. I’ve been sober since April of 2018 but I always struggle during the holidays. This song came by in the perfect time. The way I was raised, men don’t cry. I shed a couple tears when I listened to this the first time. So if you’re struggling, don’t quit. Even if you’re failing. All you have to do is not give up.
Colt. Thank you for this song. Sadly it is the truth that all deployed soldiers go through. I have been in the army 16 1/2 years now. Deployed to Iraq twice and have battled my own demon's. Luckily though diagnosed with ptsd I have made it through. I battled with alcohol long ago and found comfort and a wonderful woman i now call my wife. We are expecting our first child and can not be happier. I have my good days and my bad days still. I really find peace while in the woods hunting and or out fishing. I encourage anyone dealing with ptsd to find something constructive to do and concentrate on it. Again thank you so much for this song.
wow amg u served longer than my cousin and i don't know why i keep posting abput him but i think he should become famous or something idk y but he died 8 years ago after being deployed to Iraq for battle i'm glad ur better i have soo much respect for you guys who get shipped over seas since my cousin went on but that was only now tho' because i was still. a baby when he left and i didn't undersrand but now i do and that is y i have soo much respect for you people

This hits so close home. Not with just vets, which I am extremely thankful for, but with with construction workers, first responders, and the rest were of the blue collars. Great song 👍🏻
Im not a veteran nor do I have PTSD, but I have a drinking problem, severe anxiety and recent relationship problems. I need to start living better, WORKING ON myself, facing my demons and trying harder to better myself and relationships. This song means alot to me.
You're not alone brother. I'm not a veteran either but I am an alcoholic. I am 102 days sober today. Looking back I realized my anxiety and depression was just something I needed to work through. It really does get better. Who I was 4 months ago was someone I don't even know anymore. The demon lost his battle. You got this!
207 days sober, found the one above, working on my relationships with my family, working on my truck right now as I write this to make it to work Monday morning... Song speaks truth. Doing the best I can with this flesh and bone! Thanks to all those that serve; Special thanks to my Marines, my Grandpa, Uncle, and my Cousin. Semper Fi. 🇺🇲🇺🇲
I've been home from my deployment in Afghanistan now for 6 years. I've probably had over 70 jobs and went through the women then end up alone and a alcoholic. I've had my days and this song has definitely helped me through alot. Still alone but I have my son who helps me come home now. I pray for all my fellow brothers and sisters who are out there struggling with ptsd. God loves you all. We are not alone. God knows where our hearts are.
I know I’m late to the party but I just heard this song recently and I liked it so much I decided to check out the video. Being a non-combat Marine veteran but having friends who died during and after coming home from these endless wars this song actually made this old man tear up a little. I don’t do social media but I keep in touch with as many of my brothers as possible. Just to remind them that if they need a hand I’ll be in my car and I’ll drive across the country to reach out that hand. Thank you.
Same here I agree with you Hobby Johnson we support our veterans and our military friends and family and our troops all of them at once plus this song reminds me of my dead marine uncle that I'm named after I got all sorts of military veterans troops and Marines in my family and friends

I'm not a veteran...but this song gives me hope. Found a few weeks back after some really big personal issues, and it somehow lifts my spirits every time i hear it.
I know its help save my life more times than I could care to count brother, it's such a powerful message and I live by it, whenever I'm at my wits end or think I cant endure anymore this will always help me to find some peace
I served for 13 years and deployed 10 times. Got to say this video really hit home. I have several friends that suffer PTSD. Thank you for helping raise awareness for this.
I don't know if this would mean anything but I appreciate what you have put on the line to keep us safe I appreciate what your family must have gone through I don't know what you went through but I do thank you sir/ma'am
Man I’m sorry about that my dad died to a crash, he was coming home from the bar after a long day and someone ran him off the road then rolled his bike of him stole his leather jacket and wallet and 1k out of his pocket and we think it was his cousin cause they weren’t good people but damn my dad would do anything for anybody at any time man I miss him so much same the the 5 of my uncles that passed
6 deployments, 5 in the last 3.5 years. I may not have substance abuse problems but it hits hard being away from family and seeing your kids grow up through messenger videos and Facebook photos. @coltford thank you for recognizing the sacrifices of men everywhere
I saw colt on a duck dynasty episode and looked him up and found this song. I am kinda old school in my country music taste, but I will admit he is putting out a great message! I'm not a fan of how country has turned to pop and rap, but this guy I like. Thank you to all my fellow Veterans ( 3x Iraq, 2x afghanistan for me) and to all those supporting us. This makes me want to find a support group.
they should put colt ford on the radio. if he is i haven't heard him. i love this song. my dad was in the air force, my uncle was in the marines and my other uncle is currently in the navy. God bless America. =)
Can't get enough of this song, never was in the service but got PTSD through traumas as a kid and teenager and even young adult...almost 30 now and can feel myself growing and becoming one hell of a man because of the things I've experienced and gone through... I hope everyone thats experienced traumas especially our soldiers that have served can find it within themselves to have faith... thankyou for this song
I am very thankful to my fans and their love they shed for me, I will keep working hard and try fulfilling all their expectation towards me. Are you one of my great fans out there?
This is a powerful song it's got me through some tough times before when I'm in a bad dark place in my mind. I'm not a veteran but I thank every veteran I see for their service
“Owning up to our weakness and keeping humble but strong.” “Fighting with the man in mirror til we gone.” Both of those lines described me perfectly. It’s so hard to do when you hate yourself.
Thanks Cole Ford. I served in the Army for 21 years and with numerous tours in Afghanistan I still struggle each day with PTSD; it's hard to get through each day. God and family is all I have. Thanks again for this song.
Lee Boyd God and family is all you need brother but it's not all you have. We stand beside you not behind but beside. Thank you for your service Love and respect from Texas
Two tours for my dad, medic. I'm not a normal man because I was raised by him. Dropped off in the swamps of South Georgia at 4 am with a 30-30 rifle at 8 yrs old.
THANK GOD🙏💖 for COLT FORD'S MOTHER! She raised a wonderful 😍💗and caring man.COLT is a BLESSING to have here in country music and in the world. Not many genuinely good 😇guys 🤠around anymore. This song rings true in many 👨👩👧👧families lives. HELPING LOT of people who can relate with real problems👨👩👧👧 not big tires and 💵drugs like most rap music songs do.THANK YOU COLT💗💋&MRS. FORD💖🙏🤚💗 HE helped a family member of mine with a drinking problem ,so I appreciate greatly!!
You have soldiers that came home that would be In the Desert that spend a 18 months on a deployment and they deserve to be respected some soldiers have ptsd not to mention some of them lost there limbs some of them don’t come home to there families and people want to complain theses days soldiers deserve to respected
Its not said nearly often enough, or with enough heart behind it. But if you stood and fought for our country, from the very bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for every single sacrifice you've made to keep us free.
This song, seems to push me every day, to be closer to my daughter. I haven't seen her in nine years, and I am struggling with my drinking problem. But I put this on every morning, and get to it, with the faith I'll earn the right to see my children. Thank you. From a man on the brink of death, to all of you. This seems to pull me back every time.
Phil G hey man how’s it going with your daughter I know you’ve probably long forgot this comment but just hope you see this and remember what’s important to you

Both my grandparents were ww2 army veterans and both excellent upstanding men that served in the European theater. They never talked about anything they seen or done and I can't help but wander what struggles they faced on a daily basis or what scenes played out in their heads over and over. I seen Colt Ford in concert in w.n.c last fall and his performance was amazing, one of my favorite concerts ever!
I was diagnosed with PTSD a while ago and this song has helped me through a lot. I still have a long road to go but I know I’m not alone. Thank you Colt Ford!

I am word for word right there in my life as we speak and I there are at least a million men and women who are walking with you all the way home Brother. God Bless & Rock On, Y'all!!!!!
Im a combat decorated Marine who has ptsd from coming home after multiple tours just to find out my country decided to welcome in communism with open arms. My drinking and anger after getting out didnt have anything to do with combat and all to do with the willful cowardly downfall here at home. Been sober for a year or so now thanks to God. Haven't thrown my medals and uniform in the garbage yet but i have been close a few times. Semper Fidelis
I promise there's still a ton of us out here that love our military brother. I always get pissed at people that say they hate our military, but I tell them to not hate the boots on the ground, hate the suits in the comfort of DC that call the shots for the military.
I've listened to this song many times, and idk what is different today, maybe just a new place in life, but it hit so different I nearly broke down. No matter who you are or what you past is, there's a lesson in this song ❤
I’m stationed overseas in the military at the moment and I’m watching this video for the first time, and I’m not gonna lie it brought me to tears. It doesn’t matter where you are in life or in your personal journey, you always gotta be workin on you. This video brought me home from 6000 miles away.
I just want to say Thank for your sacrifice and service to our great nation, if you ever feel like you need to talk to anyone both of my ears are at you service. the least I can do. Thank you again.
Thank you all those who have served. And for those of use who didn't serve but still struggled with alcohol for what ever reason. Trauma comes in many shapes and forms. This is our song too. I'm not a veteran...but this song gives me hope. Found a few weeks back after some really big personal issues, and it somehow lifts my spirits every time i hear it.
Me too, I've got PTSD it's no joke...I miss my dad everyday, crying about him while I'm typing now.
This song has probably saved so many peoples lives , I know it helps me whenever I'm depressed and stressed to the max , thank you Colt 💯
I want this song played at my funeral by all means one of his best quality productions in his album release. Hand down;)
This song has saved me otherwise I wouldn't be here on this earth

I served for 13 years and deployed 10 times. Got to say this video really hit home. I have several friends that suffer PTSD. Thank you for helping raise awareness for this.
Well thank you for your service sir
I'd personally like to thank you as a JROTC cadet.
I don't know if this would mean anything but I appreciate what you have put on the line to keep us safe I appreciate what your family must have gone through I don't know what you went through but I do thank you sir/ma'am
Smogden1980 Thank you for your service! And my family and friends freedom!

Stay Strong💯
Which Duck Dynasty episode? Thanks!
they should put colt ford on the radio. if he is i haven't heard him. i love this song. my dad was in the air force, my uncle was in the marines and my other uncle is currently in the navy.

Thank you sir for your service!

God bless every single one of you men and women who served for our country. I hope yall find your peace with your time on this spinning rock..
Both my grandparents were ww2 army veterans and both excellent upstanding men that served in the European theater. They never talked about anything they seen or done and I can't help but wander what struggles they faced on a daily basis or what scenes played out in their heads over and over. I seen Colt Ford in concert in w.n.c last fall and his performance was amazing, one of my favorite concerts ever!
ww2 ... americans had no business in Europe.
This song deserves way more than 2 million views
It's 11 million views now
Awesome song high respect for colt I've experienced being around people with ptsd it's no joke for sure
I was diagnosed with PTSD a while ago and this song has helped me through a lot. I still have a long road to go but I know I’m not alone. Thank you Colt Ford!

I'm the proud son of a Navy man. What most people don't understand is that whenever someone is in the military, their family and friends serve too.
Peace man, just awesome!
Thank you for your service sir. People like you show what the US of A is really about.

I feel ya bro, Iraq 2x 0331. Keep your head up

It's one hell of a shame isn't it! I still have a touch of PTSD for different reasons and I don't have to tell you that it sucks.
You commented a year ago . . . How’re you doing?
I promise there's still a ton of us out here that love our military brother. I always get pissed at people that say they hate our military, but I tell them to not hate the boots on the ground, hate the suits in the comfort of DC that call the shots for the military.
Thank you to all who have and are still serving. I love each and everyone of you. My prayers are with you all.
Glad i found this song before I join the infantry after highschool.
This song hits home.
I can't stop rewinding this song this is awsomr
I hadn't heard this in a couple of years. That shat's hittin hard.
